I wonder how it feel to be one of these people who have never heard this music before, listen to it and realized that they have been denied real beauty their entire live.
My favorite by them. Try their first hits "Candy Girl" and "Cool It Now", then their later hits "N.E. Heartbreak", "If It Isn't Love", and "You're Not My Kind Of Girl (my second favorite)".
Yessss. Cool it now and candy girl...youll love it. Also after New Edition broke up, Bobby Brown went solo and Michael Bivens started BBD ( bel biv dovoe) with some of the other guys ( Poison and Do Me... Check those out for sure...he also discovered Boys II Men (check out End of the Road and Motown Philly ) and Biv also discovered ABC. Another Bad Creation. Listen to 9 year olds rap. Iesha was my favorite. Def look these up if you like old school R & B.
"I don't know what I just experienced, but I've never experienced it in my life." That sir, is what they call the NE mystique. Their sound just mesmerizes you. Lol
The fact that this group is Bell Biv DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, and....Ralph T. This was a magical group with so much talent! They really kicked off the beginnings of what became the amazing 90s R&B era.
New Edition from Boston (except Johnny Gill Wash, DC) was formed in 1978 but have been together as a signed group since 1983 produced Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill and BBD (Bell Biv DeVoe) Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins & Ronnie DeVoe who all had platinum success outside of the group. Ralph Tresvant- Sensitivity. Johnny Gill- My, My, My. Bobby Brown- My Prerogative. BBD- Poison. Michael Bivins discovered the R&B group Boyz II Men who was named after a New Edition song of the same name. New Edition along with Force MDs, Whistle and UTFO are the first groups to mix R&B with rapping in a song and BBD took it to another level for what today is very common place in R&B music/songs. Request: New Edition- You're Not My Kind Of Girl.
This is definitely one of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis' smoothest jams they've ever written. Another great one they wrote is Human by Human League. Or Come Back To Me by Janet Jackson.
Bruh you just listen to one of the greatest songs ever By one of the Greatest Groups of All time. That was one of them songs that you & your friends would try to sing to girls At School. 😂😂
One of my all time favourite songs for sure, and your reaction and all the comments just make me appreciate it even more. Thank you. Producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis create a similiar sound with many other artists and songs including Janet Jackson ~ Come back to me, Human League ~ Human, SOS Band ~ Sands of Time, Alexander O'Neal ~ If you were here tonight, Force MDs ~ Tender Love, to name a few.
Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam MURDERED this track and the boys of NE STILL KILL THIS (and EVERY OTHER track) AND CHOREOGRAPHY LIVE!🙌🏽❤🙌🏽 If you ever ever everrr have the opportunity to see them (all 6 still tour together) Gooooooo!!!!
When I was in 8th grade which was approx. 1985, our school won a contest, and New Edition performed in our auditorium during the school day, because that night they had a concert at Market Square Arena. I wasn't in to their music, but I can honestly say looking back on it, it was great seeing them at the beginning of their career.
Johnny Gill, the first singer, did two duets with Stacey Lattisaw. One more well known than the other, but both of them are killer. They also bookend each other chronologically. The first is 'Perfect Combination,' the second is 'Where Do We Go From Here.' Enjoy.
Love the fact todays generation is experiencing the great sounds of real r&b New Edition and BBD along with Bobby Brown/Johnny Gill was and still is the truth I literally listen to all 3 today in 2021
A great group, a great line up. And the fact that they formed other acts from the same talented guys - Bel Biv Devoe, Bobby Brown (solo), Johnny Gil (solo), Ralph Tresvant (solo). As far as I'm concerned Johnny Gil is one of the greatest soul singers of all time. These brothers are no joke!
YUP, music in the 70s 80s and 90s was uplifting, harmonious and sang about love. It was our solace. Today's music is about agitation, anger and whatever. Gangsta rap killed whatever was beautiful in music. Hope your generation rediscovers how much beautiful music adds to life
FINALLY.... someone is giving this song the same reaction I give it. This is my favorite song, of all times, like fr. I am now 44 years old, loved it then and still love it today. This song is just so beautiful. If you actually take the time to listen to the words, you will see what I mean, shhhhh, I love this song but I love New Edition anyways but when they did this one, I fell in love all over again
you have nooooo idea bruh - how many babies this song made, how many break ups to make ups, and walk down the aisle were done on this song. It Timeless!
I love your appreciation for good music. Regardless of when it was created...that said, again....Earth Wind & Fire.... Boogie Wonderland...good old upbeat Disco. Think you'd like it...
Dude, all I can say is welcome to the club. I react like this EVERY time I hear this song. And I've had it on repeat every since it dropped back in the 80s. Don't get no better than this!
This song is in NEW EDITION'S later yrs. During the NEW JACK SWING era. The group started as youngsters in 1978. Garnering hit starting in the early 80's. With its original lineup of BOBBY BROWN, RALPH TRESVANT, RICKY {B}ELL, MICHAEL {B}IVINS & RONNIE {D}EVOE. Then Bobby went off and did his solo work. They then brought in STACY LATTISAW's boyfriend/collaborator JOHNNY GILL. RALPH TRESVANT left as well to pursue his solo work. My favorite song from him is SENSITIVITY. The remaining three members RICKY, MIKE & RONNIE formed their own HIGHLY successful group BELL BIV DEVOE(BBD). They also created & produced the groups BOYS II MEN & ANOTHER BAD CREATION (ABC).
I had a partner in the USAF while were stationed in West Germany, back in the 80s, and every time you got in his car this is the cassette (dated myself here) that was playing! But dig it -- for FOUR YEARS straight, tho'? I have to admit that was THE VIBE!
AMAZING SINGING and great traack... one of my favorite productions from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Sounds a lot like some Janet Jackson tracks and also Human League - Human

There are so many avenues to go from here!!!! Ralph! Bobby and Johnny went solo. Ronnie, Ricky and Mike formed BBD. Mike found Boys II Men and more. Enjoy

This is how I felt when I first heard New Edition except I was much younger, like 16. I’m 29 now but will never forget that feeling.
I was thinking the same thing. If you were born in the 70s like me we experienced greatness
The 80’s. When you had to be able to really sing to make it. No auto tune or electronic bs.
Zap and roger used autotune
This is one of the most beautiful songs of all time. One of my very favorite songs, period.
I believe their "Still in Love with you" matches it.
The first singer is Johnny Gill, check out his song My, My, my
Honestly check out everything he sang.
He’s like Haley Reinhart. They don’t miss.
Rub you the Right Way and Fairweather Friend two more great ones
@@timothybrown5999 Only gems on that album!

It was a big hit in the early 90s. 🔥🔥🔥
He did and lost his mind!
My favorite by them. Try their first hits "Candy Girl" and "Cool It Now", then their later hits "N.E. Heartbreak", "If It Isn't Love", and "You're Not My Kind Of Girl (my second favorite)".

New Edition was always class. No matter the line up. Super talented, evidenced by all of them becoming stars on their own.
As soon as they got rid of Bobby's toxic self, 😂
Rub You The Right Way by Johnny Gill one of the members of New Edition!
Also listen to his most popular song "my my my"
Rub You The Right Way is a straight Banger!

"I don't know what I just experienced, but I've never experienced it in my life."
