Early Christians may have join in on the merry making around them but instead of celebrating Pagan beliefs they celebrated God instead. It shouldnhave had Fruit because it was showing the signs of fruit, but in fact was barren. Scholars believe Mark was written before Mathew. But some in the early church seem to indicage Mathew is first. It is possible Mathew wrote first in Hebrew or Aramaic and then it was translated to greek after Mark was written.
Jesus is teaching a lesson here. John 15 he says I am the vine and ye are the branches and if you remain in me and I in you , then much fruit exist, but if you don't then you are withered thrown away and burnt because you don't have fruit. You have to take the whole story into account not just the cursing of the fig. He was in Jerusalem and in the temple he overturned the money changers and told the rabbis they had turned the house of prayer to a den of thieves and stopped people from doing so. Then we read about Jesus seeing the fig tree because of hunger and him cursing it and the next day they saw it was withered. The fig tree has an early crop on mature wood balled breba in early spring and then normal crop. Jesus was comparing the temple to the fig tree . People are hungry and they approach the fig for the breba and leave hungry the same as the temple people came looking to passover and prayer and found it to be a money scheme for high priest annas and his sons. His message was prophetic because less than a generation later the Temple was destroyed.

When a fig tree has leaves, it signifies that it has fruit. When Jesus saw the leaves, he knew that it had fruit. But when he approached it, he realized that it had no fruit. So, in a sense, the fig tree was falsely advertising. And Jesus cursed it. Now, if it was not yet time for figs, then normally there would be no leaves on it either.

The fact is the exact date of Jesus' birthday is not recored in the Bible. The TRADITION of celebrating Jesus on the 25th emerged centuries later, and may have been to coincide with the pagan festivities that were already taking place, (Saturnalia). Early Christians may have join in on the merry making around them but instead of celebrating Pagan beliefs they celebrated God instead.

What is the Background of Joshua's Proclaimation "as for Me and My House"?

If Jesus was truly the Father as per the Christians claim then Jesus could have made the fig tree bear fruit regardless of the season to demonstrate his power.
It was an obkect lesson. It is a storu which goes hand in hand with the clearing of the Temple. It is a very intentional layout of the narrative.

It shouldnhave had Fruit because it was showing the signs of fruit, but in fact was barren. Afger this he drives out the cirruption in the temple... also a situation which outwardky made a show if spiritual health but in reality there was no fruit. He curses the hypocritical fig tree, then calls out.the hypocritical religious system. Then the fig tree withers, and Jesus prophesies the destruction of the temple. The teo stories go together. It isnnot that Jesus doesn't know about there not being fruit, it is an object lesson.

Scholars believe Mark was written before Mathew. But some in the early church seem to indicage Mathew is first. It is possible Mathew wrote first in Hebrew or Aramaic and then it was translated to greek after Mark was written.

Jesus is teaching a lesson here. John 15 he says I am the vine and ye are the branches and if you remain in me and I in you , then much fruit exist, but if you don't then you are withered thrown away and burnt because you don't have fruit. You have to take the whole story into account not just the cursing of the fig. He was in Jerusalem and in the temple he overturned the money changers and told the rabbis they had turned the house of prayer to a den of thieves and stopped people from doing so. Then we read about Jesus seeing the fig tree because of hunger and him cursing it and the next day they saw it was withered. The fig tree has an early crop on mature wood balled breba in early spring and then normal crop. Jesus was comparing the temple to the fig tree . People are hungry and they approach the fig for the breba and leave hungry the same as the temple people came looking to passover and prayer and found it to be a money scheme for high priest annas and his sons. His message was prophetic because less than a generation later the Temple was destroyed.

When a fig tree has leaves, it signifies that it has fruit. When Jesus saw the leaves, he knew that it had fruit. But when he approached it, he realized that it had no fruit. So, in a sense, the fig tree was falsely advertising. And Jesus cursed it. Now, if it was not yet time for figs, then normally there would be no leaves on it either.
So if a person comes to age and can't bear children, God should curse them? So many in the Bible were blessed with children at an older age. I thought this was a blessing from God.
