    so so so many bangers in this wrap up.
    i remember when i first read Trick Mirror, it placed me right at the center of the world and i felt involved!!! reading at the time in the moment really put into perspective how much we're all thinking of the same things that hurt us but weren't show how to express the hurt.
    also ahhh! need to read My Husband. waiting for it to come out in paperback heh

      @katsfieldnotes  11 месяцев назад

      It was a GOOOOD reading month! And yes! I love how she pulled and prodded at the different ways we embody, exploit and shrink the self. It was such a full reading experience. And buckle up for My Husband, shes a fun one 😂

    Very interested in reading Mrs. S & The Details. I also have a copy of Sheena Patel’s book that I’ve been meaning to read so now I’m more compelled to do so!
    Ripe is one of my go to books to hand sell as a bookseller at the moment and your thoughts are so spot on! The ending of the book left a lot for thought and I totally recommend reading Sarah Rose Etter’s The Book of X especially in the context of what the author is trying to do with her main characters and then all possibly being named Cassie… “a multiverse of Cassie” as I’ve heard her mention in an interview 😮

    • @katsfieldnotes
      @katsfieldnotes  11 месяцев назад +1

      A multiverse of Cassie, woahhhhhhhh. Im going to put my hold in the library right now for that book! And I love that Ripe has been your go-to rec! Its such an "of the moment" book, and a wild mindfuck at that (i will NEVER get over the ultrasound scene).
      I hope you enjoy Mrs. S and the The Details!! And Im a fan is a ROMPPPPPP, hope you have fun with that one too!

    • @katsfieldnotes

      Yes to the commitment thing! Ive never gone back to a rating and understood why Ive chosen that random number. Reinforces the lesson every time 😂

    What an amazing collection of books you've read. Really loved I'm a Fan particularly, I thought her somewhat toxic behaviour was both justified by him stringing her along, but also reflected typically bad male relationship behaviour in a way that men reading it could learn from.
    Excellent reviews, quality editing. 😊

    • @katsfieldnotes
      @katsfieldnotes  10 месяцев назад

      Totally! I think he destabalized her and that sort of tumult in a relationship can have you acting outside yourself for sure, but I also think she had some faults and could have benefitted from some major introspection 😂 I was totally invested in her journey!
      And aw, thank you so much for watching!☺️

      YES to everything you said about I'm a Fan! Train wreck central! I genuinely think you'd know if you'd like the book just by reading the chapter titles 😂 my favourites were "first of all i didn’t miss the red flags i looked at them and thought yeah that’s sexy" and "d*ck from someone who doesn’t care if you live or die" 😂😂👌

    Omg you read some bangers this month!! Ripe COMPLETELY messed me up existentially as well lol! Like I finished it and was just pacing back and forth in my apartment for a hot minute. 🫠 Have you listened to the Reading The Room podcast? The episode interviewing the author of Ripe is fantastic.
