    This recipe is the BEST!! I started keeping my water at around 90 degrees and it was the first time I had a wonderful bubble starter and the best sandwich loaf ever!!! Thank you!! May use this same recipe for hamburger and hot dog buns :)

    Yummy! Very good bread, thank you so much for the recipe and tutorial. My bread was a little deformed on both loaves but so delicious. I measured my pans and they were not quite 8”x4” so I think that might be the problem. I might experiment with a 9” x 5” next time. Thank you again😊

    What size loaf pans do you use?

    Does the starter have to be active ? Or can it just be used as is from the fridge ?

    • @hummingbirdacres
      @hummingbirdacres  7 месяцев назад

      It needs to be active. If yours is in the fridge I recommend discarding and feeding at least once before making bread.

    What do you mean by "mature" starter? When did you feed it to be ready to use in recipe? How many hours? Thanks

    • @hummingbirdacres
      @hummingbirdacres  10 месяцев назад

      One that is established (you feed and discard on a regular basis) and it doubles with in a 12-24 hour period

      When baking with sourdough I only use grams. It makes for a more accurate recipe.

    Can I do it without oil? Or add homemade yogurt as an oil substitute?

    The website says that the dough can be refrigerated for up to 4 days. Could you let me know at what point to do this? After putting it into the loaf pan or before? Thanks

    • @hummingbirdacres

      If your starter is really "soupy" then less water would have helped. You can also add some more flour. You will also be surprised that once it rises the stickiness decreases.
