    I don't usually comment, but the way you presented the recipe was wonderfully easy to follow! Thank you, My granddaughter loves sourdough bread so I am going to try making it again. I tried and failed making a starter when my children were young and gave up thinking it too difficult.

    This is the best sourdough sandwich bread ever! I've tried tons of recipes in the past few years and this one will be the last. Makes a beautiful loaf with minimal effort. Thx so much for sharing. It's a keeper.

    I followed your recipe - using a tablespoon honey instead of sugar & 100g of Rye (what I had on hand) instead of the whole wheat in your recipe. The loaf turned out wonderful!

    I officially need to order more weck now. I have proofed dough in the fridge before when I needed it to take longer. I will take it out and let it finish proofing when I have time again for it to be done.

    That makes the best french toast. I take my leftovers and make toasted croutons with it. Little olive oil and garlic or onion powder then toasted. Yummy. Good for salads and even chili and soups. My husband loved snacking on them.

    I make French bread sour dough. Right before you put the bread in the oven throw a cup of ice cubes in the oven and stick your bread in. After 3-5 min of cooking, spray the bread down with a clean spray bottle of water. The water creates steam. The ice cubes and spray water make the crust chewy and soft.

      @ it had good flavor but it is dense. Gf flour are great for replacing everything but bread. I’m still on the hunt for my unicorn flour. If you are going to try it use a yeast bread recipe.

    I also stopped my sourdough during the summer. It was just to hot to bake. Restarted my starter a week ago. I haven't made a sandwich bread yet. This looks like a really nice loaf.

    I need to learn how to make bread. I don't know that I want to have to remember to feed the starter, though. Oooh, love those cast iron loaf pans, I didn't know they existed. Yum! They look great!

      Thanks so much! Remembering to feed the starter can be a tough task, but when kept in the fridge it really only needs feeding once a week or so.

    That is beautiful looking bread! I learned how to make bread by watching my Dad do it when I was little. He never made sourdough, though. I started watching Anna's channel about a month ago and I really loved it when she decided to do this collab.
    I used to make all of our bread when my sons were growing up, but I haven't done it very much in the past 20 odd years. But, watching all of the sourdough videos from the collab has gotten me thinking about starting again, especially since the weather has cooled down over the past couple of weeks. I loved the tip about rolling up the dough to form the loaf. I've always made 2 balls of dough per loaf, but, I'll have to try your method! Thanks for the great tips!

    I love the Danish dough whisk. I was surprised at how easy it is to use for bread doughs. Doesn't seem like it would but it does.
    The bread looks delicious. My mouth gets cut up on crunchy crusts too, but I still love it, just not for sandwich bread.

      @@SageandStoneHomestead You really should and cast iron is the only way! The box can’t compare. Especially if it was that sweet yellow in the box. Good southern cornbread isn’t sweet in my opinion. Others may disagree but I like a good white cornmeal.

    I love sourdough French bread for garlic bread and croutons but I'm like you I like a softer crust for sandwiches. I'll have to try this one.
