Mortal Shell is a deep action-RPG that tests your sanity and resilience in a shattered world. As the remains of humanity wither and rot, zealous foes fester in the ruins. Posses Lost Warriors

Combat is strategic and deliberate. You must commit your sword only when an opportunity opens. Calculate your parries to unleash devastating counterblows. Temporarily entomb your Mortal Shell in stone to block attacks, or play aggressive and use your stone-form to add brutal weight to your own sword swings.

First few hours are brutal

Same here. This is my first soulslike. I got it because reviews kept saying this was one of the easiest ones but man, I haven't been able to do much.
Randomly found this game on epic games. Used your walkthroughs through all the souls series including sekiro which was my first vid i saw of or heard of you (amazing btw). Got this game and tried to to a blind runthrough... bout to cash it in and say f*ck it... kept coming back to google and looking up new tips and then came across your name, saw that you did this as a walkthrough too. Literally made a new game to follow along with you. You cured my buyers remorse instantly...! Your content is amazing man keep it comin!!!
I remember when I got gifted Dark Soul 2 on my birthday because I thought it was a cool knight game like Skyrim and It just kicked my ass so I came to RUclips and found Cowboy to save my life. Ever since you’ve been there playing every single game that I play and helping me 100% games all the time. Thanks so much Cowboy for being part of my gaming Journey.
I really tried to get through the beginning on my own.. after 2 days of trying I finally decided to go to cowboy for help..

When people talk about Fighting Cowboy they will speak only in awestruck wonder of how a legend could exist.
Man the tracking on some of the enemy attacks is nuts.
It's bull shit, I cannot believe all the glowing reviews this got, I pick it up and it's really not that great to start off

I really want to try this game. I'm used to games like this being cheap. Sekiro's enemy tracking is stupid sometimes, too. Will try to vault over an enemy to hit from behind and he'll do a 180 over a single frame to connect a hit on me.
Felt like the game punished you for trying to be creative.

This game is nowhere near that difficult
First 2-4 hours give somewhat a challenge then it’s extremely easy maybe to easy.
@@ex_cathedra4237 I completed relatively easily in the end, once you master the harden mechanic it's very easy aside from some truly horrific runs back from boss arenas... it was a strange choice to make the 'souls' redundant if you had settled on a shell. Solomon for the win... Also make sure you use the first sword and no other weapons till you get the hammer and chisel. Save your upgrades for that.
You must'st be human you must be a cyborg so as not to get lost in that freaking swamp I hate that part, I just bought the game and I hardly ever got lost in Dark souls or Nioh, but this one? It's insane, thank you so much you're the best you saved me tons of frustration.

Wow, thanks. I did half the fire Dungeon before even going to the Fall grim tower. But now atleast I have a nice Fire staff with a fire skill.
I feel watching walk troughs robs you of your own experience because you won't be surprised anymore, but just to start off it's nice for collecting the shells.

never heard of this game until i found it on game pass a couple days ago. one thing that makes it challenging is the lack of maps or bonfires to travel between.

Yeah same here, I just noticed it on game pass a couple days ago-tried playing it on my own and could tell it wasn't going to happen then I came across this walkthrough and STILL don't think it's going to happen, I just don't have the patience lol I've only so much time in my week to game and this was driving me insane so o don't think I'll come back to it unless I'm really stuck for something. It's a shame because it looks good but I just feel like I'm making such slow progress and not seeing hardly any gains and that's not fun for me. I've played a lot of difficult games but they always gave me a sense of achievement which so far this doesn't seem to give me

Funny enough, I think I have enjoyed all of them. like usual I like to play the game through on my own first and then I'll watch your walk through to see what I missed. I can't wait for a shadow of the Erdtree. Since we are getting close to the end of February in 2024 I would have thought we would have got some kind of trailer or some new news by now.
You saved me from deleting this game. Im all for souls games, but I didnt know my objective or how to progress at all and I was just stuck killing as many enemies I could till I died and was confused why there was no save feature. But your vid helped me put the peices together and im now thoroughly enjoying the game. Thankyou 👍

Thank you Soooooo much for this entire walkthrough and explanation on the items. I had no clue on what to do in this game or what items to use or what they even meant. But for some reason I was still enjoying the game even though I had no idea where or what to do. And kept dying and dying.

Finally. I've been struggling so much
The beginning is hard at first when your weapon isnt strong and yea I had to get the hang of the hardening your shell to protect you at time but once i found the item to be able to parry it just got better and i found three different armors so far
I really enjoyed my blind through with this game. It’s a great game. Now it’s time to see what I missed.

Trusty ol fighting cowboy always delivers the goods
I could not believe it. I have used cowboys walkthroughs for just about every souls game. All the dark souls, bloodborne, Sekiro and even a little of Elden Ring but not so much because it is an open world game and I kinda wanted to figure it all out for myself.
But I got the Face Off achievement FIRST TRY in the tutorial BECAUSE of watching cowboy’s walkthroughs. And i haven’t played a fromsoft game in months. Last one i played was Sekiro so that isn’t much like the souls games. I just used the dodging technique, and that harden ability is like a cheat strategy lol.. I just jump strike hardened myself the entire time for the boss in the tutorial and beat him first try. Took a long while but i did it!! And I owe it all to cowboy! I didn’t even start watching this walkthrough until i got to the first stage and realized I was in the wrong area taking on a boss that can one shot me. So back to cowboys walkthroughs it is for the 100th time.. This is going to be great!

@@Jason_Van_Stone exactly... I get lost everywhere I go and Im still in the beginning area. Took me a while to kill that Grisha. I still dont understand how to get that spike to work. I only got it to work one time.
@@Jason_Van_Stone yeah I finally beat him. Took me quite a while. I just had to be really patient and bait and dodge. Probably took me like 5-7 tries though. Im not very good at this game. Im better at dark souls etc. Do you need 2 resolve bars or 1? maybe that was my problem? I kept trying to do it with 1.
@@Jason_Van_Stone yeah I figured it out. You need two of those rectangular meters full. I dont parry much if at all. I need to learn too. Never did it in dark souls or bloodborne. That's probably why I couldn't play sekiro. lol

I only ever watch your videos when I get stuck in a souls-like game, but I can always count on you to have a walkthrough to help me out
A little tip for the mask that takes all your glimpses. If you have an effigy of a shell you're not using but have the name for. Since glimpses are shell specific you can use the effigy, warp back and then use another effigy (of the shell you were first using) and still have your glimpses. Just make sure you have the effigy of both a shell you know the name of but have no glimpses on AND the effigy of the shell you're using.

Hey Cowboy, those tunnel crawls are a nightmare but you can hold sprint during them and it goes a little quicker. Keep up the good work brother!

You probably know by now but you can get both the obsidian achievement and no shell achievement in one run. Just did it and it sucked lol.

15:13 ? Where did you get a spike to put in the sword? How many hundreds of times did you have to play it to figure out all this? I went to the workbench and it said something about a cat suit. That was it. Then I died and next time there's only a cat there to pet. ?
This game is harder than dark souls at the early stage. I just finished playing all dark souls games and I jumped into this and I was surprised to get my arse whooped several times. Thanks for this video, it made me know what I was doing wrong
@Frankie BasileI was trying to take it on with the enemies (dark souls style) from the get go without knowing where to go. I got myself killed several times until I discovered the lady you upgrade in the house. Just follow follow the guide from this video to upgrade your stat and to get the various shells
I don't understand how to keep the spring toggled ON because when I go to controls, it doesn't give me an option to select that one. So I have to hold down the forward key while also holding down the run key and then trying to hold other keys during a fight? why is the sprint toggle not highlighted in the controls setup section? Is he able to do these leaping escapes because the spring/run is always on? That gives you a huge advantage if so cuz you don't have to think about it.
When I fought him so much to the point where he just gave up. He went out of bounds in the deep end facing away, only attacking when provoked, so I took the easy win
How would anyone know on their first time to just run run run past all of those enemies to any certain place?
