some of the points of criticism were actually really good? i love the idea that amalur needs diversity of options to thrive, that's super true. i ended up just cycling through everything during play because it really does drag in places, and i'm sure it gets even more frustrating at higher difficulties. it's weird - i remember being annoyed during play but it's nostalgic in retrospect. the game's beautiful, even with its quirks and negatives

It's one of the few games that I think would really benefit from a sequel; an opportunity to iron at the rough edges and expand on its novelty would be awesome.
Also TY Kbash it means the world to hear your praise 🙏

I can agree with many points here like how Chakrams are above the power curve of other weapons and how Fate meter is used as a "I WIN" button. By the way, you can sprint by pressing A (if xbox) or X (if PS). I don't know what the PC sprint button is.

Ah my bad, I meant moreso that sprinting didn't feel potent enough considering the game world's scale. I was really hung up on not having a mount. Regardless, appreciate the view!

@@couchmoba Ah, that makes more sense lol. I can concede that I did always wish the sprint was faster. You also just made me realized there aren't mounts anywhere in the game - not even NPCs iirc.

@@lordvectra7821 Game's still sick; hope my love came across as much as hate, lol. It's def one of the titles that has plenty worth keeping and plenty work improving/adding.

@@couchmoba Agreed. Hopefully, we'll get a sequel that's good or they give it an actual recreation of sorts.

I like Kingdoms of Amalur Re-reckoning even if it is a re-released ripoff of Skyrim. I only have two peeves about the game. One: It kind of leaves me unfulfilled when it's time to level up, that just one point towards skill per level produces some anxiety. But being able to master all three classes in destinies makes up for it. Two: Gems, gems and more gems and no place to really use them except on substandard (white) gear. Sure some of it has good armor stats but hardly any of the perks like blue, purple and gold sets. I just sell the gems. Other then that I give the game 8/10.

How is it a Skyrim ripoff? The games were in development at the same time.

@danaripley1200 the point is that KoA can't be a ripoff of a game being developed at the EXACT SAME TIME

@@Frostwulf1313 In the end they are just games people still enjoy playing no matter which one came first or whatnot. That was just my own opinion.

If you comparing Blacksmithing and Sagecrafting created items with the ones find in chests, even the epic ones, then you clearly didn't use those skills.
Crafted items are so powerfull that they literally brake the game. And you only need 2 components, Damaging(the percentage one) and Everlasting, which are both sellable by vendors.

I can only speak on my experience, but I did spec heavily into blacksmithing and felt little to no payoff compared to many of the quest reward items and their unique effects. It's very possible I didn't fully comprehend the systems, but after a playthrough I found the world and characters enticing, the combat addictive, and the systems and mechanics behind it underwhelming. Tbf it has been a fair min since I last played, so maybe it deserves a revisit if only to give a bit more credit and to play the DLC.

That 2 components part just isn't true.

I don't see the "awful" in this game.
    Chakrams AREN'T superpowered.
Basically, I feel the same way about this critique - some of it is good, some of it awful IMO.
