I'll play more into the game later to see if any choices do actually affect my game in a big way with many branching outcomes but I'm genuinely disappointed at how the introduction pans out.

The comment about linear story vs open world really hit home. I love it so far and I've completed like 3 of the side quest storylines and about half of the main story line. I think if you go in thinking it plays like a far cry game then you're golden. It's not like Skyrim or Fallout in the exploration venue. It is 100% like far cry in the way you "liberate" crimes being done and side missions peppered all around the map. Those are the places they obviously spent more time on and you get the unique encounters.
Watching this at work and my old ass boss comes by and goes “ah. Seneral Gam, huh?” And I was flabbergasted. He actually watched your old rust videos with his kid before he passed away. It’d be wholesome if it was anyone else but it’s you so it’s funny.
When you started to talk about the deadline... i felt that strongly. Played the game completely through within around 75 hours. Story of the main quest seems to be cut into pieces. The delivery is outstanding, as you would expect of them after Witcher 3 but it is way too short. The sidequests with relevant characters are in some cases even better. (Do the one with River, great detective mission at the end!) The rest is just mediocre or plain shit. Performance is all over the place, Gunplay is a mixed bag, found the revolver to be enjoyable, it has kinda Judge Dredd vibes to it. CQC is broken. I can't wrap my head around the decision about the loot system... would probably been better without it. Crafting needed more work. Cyberware is cool but as with the crafting quite undercooked. Driving is kinda ok with some vehicles but mostly shit. The world severely lacks interactions aside from some vendors and a few places you can press a button to dance or have sexy time... The police thing is completely retarded (don't find a better word for this) and seems to be half finished if at all. The difficulty settings are a joke, seriously... just play on normal or easy, nothing enjoyable about plain bullet sponges and getting oneshot, which happens anyway in the later stages because of the broken number settings. Leveling is extremely mixed and kind of boring dependng on your playstyle. You playing a Power/Reflexes build, enjoy your boring passive perks with some cool ones. Pick any other build which includes the other 3 ones, have actual fun leveling up. (One Tree seems to be cut, dunno why they would leave the blank space otherwise...) Yeah... huge potential but as it is right now... just fucked.
so that missing tree remember the mission where you get the flathead drone yah that was supposed to be another gameplay feature but they cut the whole thing out because it wasnt ready when the head honchos told cdpr devs to push this premature fetus out the fucking door.
I still believe there is hope for the game if I had the option I would recall and spend more time on the game and add all the content back that was promised in the gameplay demo/trailers
They didnt forget to make a game, you have an indie team making a highly ambitious game while simultaneously working on 2 other games lol, it's basically like crying that Star Citizen isnt done yet. That plus CD projekt told us it wasnt finished ahead of time but the consumers and investors pushed them to release it causing like half the content to get cut because it wasnt fully completed. The reason there was so many bugs is because they didnt even make it to that phase of development yet. We should just let them make it so we would have gotten a full game off the bat instead of early access.
@@danielm739 the fact that I really can't tell what are the glitches that are happening on purpose and which are the ones that shouldn't be happening at all is so annoying
The hardest part to come to terms with, is that there is clearly a good game in there. If it was ALL crap, it'd be easier to just hate the game. Instead, there are parts of it that are great, glimpses at the real next-gen revolutionary game we were expecting. Like he said, if you play it like a linear story rpg, with some side content, it feels a lot better. It still has issues, mostly with bugs that can be fixed, but it's a decent game if you're on PC. It's got BEAUTIFUL graphics and art direction. There is enough good stuff there, that I really hope they can turn it into a really great game with patches and DLC in the next year or so. And/or, if they allow mods and the community does it with 3rd party content.
It really shows that the rush screwed the game up. In my mind when it was announced they where cutting out 3rd person cut scenes that was the "Oh no they are really rushing this" alarm
The people who said CDPR could patch the crappy ai must feel real silly now that the devs said it's impossible to add that ai because their engine can't handle it.
Yeah this game would have still sucked ass even if it wasn't rushed in the end. Just not the right people working on it. Not too mention people need to realize a lot of the good people from the witcher games left the company years ago, they didn't even work on this game so idk why people were saying it was going to be good because they made the witcher except it was two different teams.
Remember the days when you’d pay for a game and it would already be finished, and updates would just remove the minor glitches that got missed? I miss those days. Now buying a game is like buying a fucking sandwich without any meat cause they gotta finish grilling it.
back in those days, game development was a passion project. nowadays, theres so many lobbying groups and investors that just want to see the end profits and will force developers to release a game way before the project is polished.
I feel like that's what they said this was going to be at one point, wasn't it? Wasn't there a lot of publicity about a delay that happened a while back when that was said to have occurred because they supposedly weren't going to make their employees crunch to get the game done? I seem to remember everyone bitching about how long it was taking and the studio saying "it's done when it's done". So much for that...
@@rambomessiah9627 I saw a guy that played for like 2 hours with the screen stuttering thinking it was on purpose, his reaction when he read the chat and saw that it shouldn't be happening is hilarious

That's the problem with overworking employees. They had time to create a load mechanic that somewhat works. But didn't have time to test it and fix properly. All of this is so disappointing. The game already had payed for itself thanks to preorders. All they had to do was wait for it to finish.
@@rumplstiltztinkerstein yeah its a shame. But I have hope for it yet. Like you say they've already made their money back and started rolling out patches. You boot up the game. Nothing loads right. Nothing works. Is this it? Ashton Kutcher runs out from behind an apartment block with a katana. Turns out it was actually _CyberPunk'd._
About the Keanu acting thingy: Keanu is more of an action actor than a voice actor. He moves good, he looks good. Voice acting is not his speciality. The role they gave him for cyberpunk was really mismatched. It would've been better if there were actually times where we get to see Johnny help, or fight, or some shit like that. B
I don’t care if they can just “patch it out” I’m tired of these game company’s half finishing games and dumping in on us saying it’s 100% perfect when instead it plays like it’s an alpha release. When a game comes out I wanna play it day one and things work out the way they should like they used to. AAA games aren’t even worth playing anymore i can’t remember the last time I got excited for a game release.
Well tbf, the game is unacceptable, but CDRProjekt didn't pull a Bethesda on us. They never said it was perfect. They didn't even say it was finished. They tried to delay the release as much as they could. But the players found that just outrageous, they wanted to play the game now, and the publishers and the big wallet guys freaked out at the idea of losing too many potential buyers over delays. So they decided to release the game in its current state, so they can maximise the immediate profit from people rushing it. And it happens. Every. God. Damn. Time.
Still the companies fault. Doesn't matter if people are impatient or not, releasing an unfinished broken product is only going to hurt them more than making people wait. Though 8 years for this hot garbage is not a good sign for how long it would have taken to truly finish it. Probably wouldn't of come out for another 5 years if this is the best they could come up with in 8 years.
@@ryman1933 INDIE TEAM... Yeah it's the companies fault the fanbase is comprised of violently impatient manchildren and pressuring shareholders. I was playing and I went to the Columbarium and there's a "grave" hologram for Roy Batty. It even says his line "all these moments will be lost, like tears in rain." I thought it was pretty cool
Its not that bad on pc. These small details sometimes are not noticeable in games especially for casual gamers. Its good that youtuber pinpoint these small details so that the developers take notes on it. Do check out my cyberpunk 2077 related content on my channel
the way people spawn in and out actually gives an incredibly uncanny feeling, like its supposed to be a city full of people and yet they act like phantoms so you end up getting the same feelings of isolation you get from abandoned cities mixed with the claustrophobia of crouds. i feel like you can only experience what im talking about if you play it. its actually extremely disturbing

great fucking story and voice acting/animations. the "main" side quests are so fucking good too. but yeaaaa... the gameplay is not. its okay but god... so clunky and not fluid at all to run and gun in this game. put that on top of all the bugs.
The major sidequests were great, but i was pretty disappointed with the main story to be honest. I'm not even a huge fan of the witcher 3, but the climax of that game was infinitely better.
@@timh.7169 Kingdom Come was lazy with NPCs. The moment I started seeing repeat NPC faces standing right next to each other completely ruined the game for me. I was pretty immersed and was having a lot of fun until then. I agree, they delivered, but the lazy faces broke the game for me.
It's not that we the consumer overhyped the game. There are mechanics and systems not in the game that the developers talked about that were in trailers. They were cut from the launch copy and will likely be introduced over the next two years as CDPR do a no man's sky
Finally someone talks about how Keanu did as Johnny Silverman. He was like the main attraction and he's probably the worst voice actor in the game. He did not do well.
This is the most accurate "review" I've ever seen. I love the game, but hot damn dude. That last part close to the end about deadlines, that is exactly how I feel about this. Feel bad for the devs but holy shit dude..
i mean it was purely the executives pushing it out for the pre-christmas release to appease shareholders and come out hopefully unscathed, just as seneral gam said if this had a year longer on the afterburner it would be far better than it is now just with the small tweaks they would've been able to make
Yeah idk what people expected. Everyone looses their mind over delays but it's obviously happening for a good reason. Then you get a product like this. I'll buy it next year when it's finished.
7 years in development and you think 6-12 months is going to make a difference? The game is broken at the foundation, there is no patching that. There are dozens of insider reports that say management have no idea what they are doing and just fluke success, it's starting to look accurate.
@@Jaymiecain1 I personally haven't run into any game-breaking bugs during my multiple playthroughs or issues i couldn't solve with just a simple reloading save for the only story stopping bug i did run into but i think things such as the bizzarre police ai which i didn't even run into because i never bothered fighting the police spawning or models being weird or any of the other immersion breaking and even some of the game halting bugs could be fixed within 12-6 months easily if not 5-3 honestly i think the fact that they decided it would be a good 2020 release at what it's at now was not a good idea but for what its at now it's still very enjoyable
The crowd generation thing was the most jarring thing for me watching my friend play the game. Like you look down the street and it's full, turn around and then look back and the street is just empty
At least its not a Fallout 76 situation. They promised a lot and delivered bugs AND no content AND THEN you couldn't even use mods to fix it or ad the content. And then they tried adding almost every way to monetize it under the sun and a battle royal mode nobody asked for before finally adding the NPCs people had requested since before the game even launched.
nah there are some models that aren't very similar (as in its different colors with same attire or vise versa) and some that are completely unique models there are a few that are carbon copies though i think?
I blame the people in the dev team who got a hard on for Keanu. The late shift to Johnny Silverhand being the focus of the main storyline instead of just a few side missions had to take away a shitload of time that could've gone into polishing the game. It is also most likely the reason the 3 life choices mean diddly squat as they had to force you into the exact same Johnny Silverhand story as it's all they could finish due to scrapping prior work on the campaign.
In any shooter games like Cyberpunk or RDR2, having enemies be bullet sponges instantly makes the game much less enjoyable. Rockstar seems to know this so they made all enemies have the ability to be one-shot if shot in the head or the heart. That is fun, having the ability to kill anyone in the game with a shitty revolver as long as you can hit them in the right spot is free. Damage sponges in Witcher 3 and Dark Souls work a lot more since the player is constantly moving and dodging attacks from multiple enemies. When you take out all of the skill needed to expertly dodge every attack while also dealing damage, you are just left with a simplistic game where you keep hitting your left click button and hoping the enemy dies before you.

I’m genuinely confused by how someone can say it’s a good game when it’s a buggy mess. If you can’t finish quests because of bugs, then it’s not a good game.
Mmmm.. debatable. I consider STALKER to still be a "good game" and highly enjoy it, but I've heard of and even encountered some critical bugs, including ones that prevent me from completing a mission. Cyberpunk 2077 is obviously a very different case. I just disagree that buggy to the point of not being able to complete some missions = bad game.

@@AozoraUltra2006 See, I'm not so sure the "years of hype" plan has been working out so well. A full year of marketing should be plenty and would hit the market before the hype starts to die off.
