- We Caught Giants EVERY Cast At This Natural Gas Rig! *Catch,Clean,Cook*
Today we took my 19' bay boat out to the natural gas rigs with some frozen cigar minnows that I picked up from Beach Bum Outdoors. Our main goal was to catch some giant king mackerel, and we were able to make that happen! We took them back home and tried a new recipe for king balls, and it turned out pretty good!

You're an awesome dad integrating fishing into you're sons life and letting him go out with you guys!!! AWESOME VIDEO GENTLEMEN!!
That's a fact. My dad got me into it with family trips up into Quebec for walleye and pike over 60 years ago. Family is everything, blood or not.
I love seeing young men catch fish, dad's teaching them how, that's the way it should be. They will remember this day when they're old and gray and love their dad for taking the time to teach them.
*Fish runs*, "Dad, get the net!" Too funny. It's nice to see children enjoying the outdoors.
I have never cooked King Mackerel balls. I always just smoked them. But this was interesting to see. Glad to see you teaching your son fishing. That was my father and I first bond as a sport when I was 8 years old. Great video!
The older boy with dark hair parted on the side is not a distraction and is actually respectful to you and has manners. He is not a total distraction like the smaller ones.
the kids make it great job brad for letting them enjoy the outdoors
63 yrs ago Pensacola became my home town. We lived on south Garfield drive owned that place for many years. Father loved to go out for kings often. Some of the pics of him and friends cleaning them are spectacular
I really like you teaching the little ones to fish there. They will love you forever for that experience.
Nice work with the kids. I took my grandson out for the first time not too long ago. We didn’t catch anything so I hooked up a mullet as bait an let my grandson reel it in. Time of his life for sure. Fishing with four year olds(in my case) takes a lot of patience. Beer helps.
Great Video, it was awesome seeing you catching some kings with your son!
That just looked like an absolute blast. Way to overcome those dog days of summer. When the inshore gets tough, go offshore!
I'd go offshore almost every day if I could.
@comfortablynumb9342 I'm up in NW Louisiana. If I lived in the gulf I would go offshore as much as possible. As it is, I get to drive down a surf fish somewhere about one weekend a month.
@@danver1971 I grew up in Florida and have been in the NC foothills for 5 years or so. I hated it. So I moved to the VA Beach area where I can fish a lot in the saltwater and not get in trouble for having stinky little plants 😉. I'm getting a kayak in a little while, this evening. And I'll probably go paddle around the harbor. I don't know when I'll get to go offshore but I'm stoked about being back by the water and being able to get off the piers and beaches.
@comfortablynumb9342 I'm an old fat guy, so the kayak thing isn't really for me, unless I could figure out how to afford one of those fancy ones with the built in trolling motors. I do plan to eventually move down to the Galveston area with my 18" bowrider so I can at least get on some better inshore fishing. Stuck with piers and surf till then though. Have fun with that kayak and tight lines.
I just came across your channel... I just love the way you are so good with your kids ... dont see much of that now a days... thanks for being such a good father.. and great video
greatest sound..... "Dad get the net!!!!!"
goes very well with your boy picking his nose and then mixing the fish batter.... priceless!!!!!! My kind of household!
😂
Really nice trip Brad it's so good to see them boys catch them fish good job them boys will remember that the rest of their lives really nice kings I'm 70 born on the bayou in South Louisiana been fishing since I was 6 my day showed me the way been after it ever since my best is a 137 pound yellowfin tuna, caught some huge reds and black drum reds in the 30s drum in the 50s don't get out much anymore but time to time I get at it, my best way to fix king mackerel is on the grill top with crabmeat dressing, with a olive oil and butter garlic and green onion sauce with a little creole seasoning zatirains of course tks man really enjoy your videos.
I didn't know that Cobia had to Book a Trip with a Freighter 😅
Don't forget to Batter Your Ball's
Brad 😂.
Your Great Brad, keep up the Hard work, Great Content !
Just good times and glad you are teaching the kids how to fish
What a great video. I can't wait until my boys are old enough to do some serious off shore fishing like this.
Don't wait too long they grow up fast
@@randaltotten9358 we're already hitting the local doc to go after bluegill! Our oldest just turned four and this is just his speed. We catch one on almost every cast, so he isn't learning much about patience...but he certainly appreciates the wilderness in a new way.
Loved his smile when u gave him your rod way to be a great dad
Awesome video brother, the mackerel balls looked delicious! I use the pancake batter on my bluegill and it's great!
Try marinating the balls in lemon juice, or whatever. May cut the fishy taste.
The smile on Keltons face when you said ,now this pole is yours, says it all . Great parenting thy bearded one
Thank you! That kid loves fishing!
The boys was putting in work. Let’s goooo
Was anyone else holding their breath when he was bringing that monster in. I had to remind myself it’s only a damn video. Guess it’s automatic. My heart is still racing. Lol
Calvin is a rockstar, he did a great job getting that one fish in the net. Was holding my breath on that one too. That was a great father son day. The best gift you can give someone, is a good memory, and trust me, those two boys are going to remember this day, and others like it for the rest of their lives
With that trip you made 2 new fishermen for life awesome day for Dads
eating a pizza lunchable while watching your video. i see youre a man of culture as well. much love brad great fishing. the excitement from your son is heartwarming.
GOOD JOB,, ON THE KING FISH!!!!
Great show! Goof balls and fish balls!!
Awesome video Brad. You and Kelton tore em up. It's great seeing him love fishing the way you do and we all do. Keep it up.
Thank you!
Good spot on seeing him grab the line, that braid can cut you up pretty quick. Nice trip!
That new Stradic has a new brake system. I think you just proved it works great!
Kelton did an amazing job!!!! 😮
Congratulations, Kelton!! Great catch!!
Your boys will remember this for the rest of their lives, priceless!
😅😅😅 bye bye....that was awesome 😅😅😅
Kelton looked Pissed when his kingfish went over!!🤬😆😂
Natural gas rig😁. Caught one 3 finger King. Was great watching the young ones!
Great video. My persoanl favorite way to cook King is to Marinade in Italian dressing hour or so, then wrap the Kings Balls 😂 in bacon and grill.
Keep up the good videos. I love my Gulf coast and if I can’t be out there, it’s awesome to watch…
Lots of fun with the kids!
Wow Brad you got 10,000 more subscribers 👏 way to go im a chat moderator on you tube much love from Tennessee ❤
Fish was bigger than the new ruler you got 🤣 don’t get to pick em!
Love seeing the boys fishing! What fun! I wanna go too! ;.)
Maybe add a second stinger 4x strong treble hook when free lining live bait or cigar minnows. You will land bigger fish. Keep on fishing,!
Is that the same oil rig Bama saltwater fishes at? If so why don't you both get together and make a vid?
Great for kids to go fishing with dad it makes for a good close relationship and keeps the kids out of trouble
Great job BB!!! Awesome video!! Great time had by all!!! Tight Lines!!
Great kid trip good job dad
Someone is gonna get messed up with that naked bladed knife on the back deck...😮 Great video lots of action
Fish is 100 yards from the boat. Kelton: "Dad, get the net!" 😂😂
Awesome video, and great job young fellers.
He was ready! Lol
what a day love it wish i was out there such a good king Spanish hot day
Cool to see those youngins fishin!
Great catch and cook! Always love when you cook.
Great family fun!!’
Brad, you didn’t want any sauce on your ball(s)?😂😂😂
We put the fillet on a cedar plank and toss it in the oven on 450 for 30 mins pull it out chunk the fish and eat the board lol. Fish dip is the best unless it’s a snake king then we do the king rounds.
Good to see the boys out of the dog house 👍👍
Lol they were in Trouble last week
If you alternate your extractions(do one ,skip,do next, etc)this leaves a space and makes it easier for the balls to come out. Then repeat on the ones left over.
Makes sense!
Nice trip Brad. Wish I could go.
Awesome day fishing, better with a buddy and boys that are close in age, hope they remember it. Would love to live there and be able to do that
Awesome, your a good dad for sure
That's not a Baby King it's a Cero Mackerel ! Really good Sushimi !
I've tried Pickled King down in Puerto Rico, and for someone like me who doesn't eat a lot of fish, it was very good
Make a wash down hose for boat simple with a bulge pump mount on back of transom
Van Staal? The RUclips and tackle shop business must be great. Awesome! I'm happy to see you doing well. And I love to see the year son join you, especially offshore.
Great vid, bro. Dig the ones with the boys. I'm missing fishing with my oldest and his oldest (13) this year near Buffalo, NY. Blown knee ended any road trips over 1000. Next year for sure if I gotta hitchhike LOL
You should see the kings we catch here in Jacksonville, they get in the 45-50’s
Back in the mid to late 90's I was 2nd mate on a 109ft crew boat like the one in the video, I have been to many of the rigs in the gulf from TX to FL during my off season as a charter boat captain in NC. Nice king the largest I have ever seen weighed just over 52lbs off the coast of NC and some very nice Spanish good day of fishing in my book I am retired now still go off shore sometimes.
Love all your videos and Love that the Kids get some big ones
that was a monster cuda
It's awesome father's son fishing trip
Kings make a very good stew.
looked like a great time!!
I know one thing, Kelton is the net man!!
That is awesome 👊🏼👊🏼
I keep telling you you need to save those fish heads and carcasses to make some stock. If you want to freeze some and send it home with mom and dad I’ll make some and record it for you.
Lol might have to do that!
I could only imagine how fun it is to fish with my son when he get that age.
It’s a blast!
Hey I don't even know if you can get it or not. House Autry Seafood breader, it's made in North Carolina try it you'll like it excellent on king mackerel. And you are a great dad lots of patience
Nice video but that’s a Production Platform, not a Rig. For those that do not know, Rigs are temporary there only to drill & complete the Wells. Production Platforms are more permanent there to produce the Gas or Crude from the wells the Rigs drill. The advantage of fishing platforms is that the structure below the surface attracts all forms of sea life & a lot of that life will live their entire life around the legs, risers & flowlines.
Cut the king fish into 1" steaks butter up a baking pan or oil wrap the steaks wuthering bacon place on the pan salt, pepper garlic, onion powder real butter, lemon ,paprika on top. Bake at 350 about 25 to 35 min.
I like king cakes/patties. Shread 3 lbs of the meat, add 1 Philadelphia cream cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, add bread crumbs (seasoned how you like) till thick so you can make like hamburger patties. If to thick add sour cream. Sause: yello mustard, brown sugar, malt vinegar. Should be thick like ketchup fry in oil stove top. Salt, garlic powder and pepper. Mmmm
This is probably a really stupid question, but when you gaff a fish in the side, does that ruin the meat? I know absolutely nothing about fishing, but I stumbled across your channel and find it extremely entertaining.
Hey BB ,
Kelton will need an older model Stradic or Stella w leash for a Fair Chance at a Monster out in Blue Water ( mid grade Penn spinners r
too weak drag wise & gearing wise ) ,,, Kelton & his Friend Dominic did a Great Job as well as U & Ur Friend For Sure Mate ,,, Awesomeness 🤙🏼🐟💪🕊️✨
Finally you let other kid reel a fish 🐠🐠
That's a great day
Absolutely!
Great fishing trip!
I learned the hard way to always have my kids rods tied off in some way. I bought to many rods for my 7 kids letting them go when they felt like they might get pulled in but I always had em held down
I would hate to see how you react catching a king thats actually big lol....nice video with the kids
Freakin Awesome Catch . Best of the GOM this year.
Thank you!
Epic Day 😁👏👏👍👍👍
Sounds like Kelton needs a little more ???? You kno Dad...
BB, another great example of how to be a great pop and fisherman. Will you ever make a video of fishing off fort Morgan mini pier? Who you fishing with, looks like ginger Billy
I’ll probably fish it at some point
That’s the same result that I got from the king’s that I caught on a trip a couple years ago. Not really a fan of king mackerel. Good job for those young fishermen! GBO 🍊🏈
GBO!
wow nice video
Great times Brad!! Love it
Thanks!
Way to go little man!
You should see how it tastes with dison mustard
Aloha. Awesome day, and you have the patience of a saint! Didn’t you have a dedicated deep fryer?
What a beast!
Great video, great showing the kids how to fish and work everything. What lb braid do you use or recommend for offshore fishing?🎣
I was using 30
brining in white vinigar and water will take out fishey taste or in milk will work
Yall tore'm up.
Nice fishing
