- At the start of next month, most of the multiplayer functionality of the Desmond era Assassin’s Creed games will be taken off-line, forever. Many don’t even understand what they will lose, but the loss will be felt by those who managed to play it properly at least once. And it will be felt by everyone at some point, when we all realize how the gaming medium has been lessened.

Ubisoft really behaves like a villain of computer games industry.
Here is an easy way to "preserve" old games - if a game shuts down and does not provide ways for people to set up their own servers/play then by law they should give everyone who bought it refunds. Suddenly, all the companies will be really aware of game preservation.
So many good games had their MP killed off for good...

You have the chance to see how it works at the end of this month, there seems to be a push for one last game night from a lot of people.
hahah, great video as most times :)/ Y i remeber trying out some of these modes, but it needed internet and we only had one ethernet cable, no wifi. So didint really have the time to try them out fully. Fun modes, but sadly not promoted at all in any of the games or advertisments...
Hard to believe that the company that has been releasing the same game with slight improvments, new takes, new enviroments, new mechanics has been sitting on gold ideas for so long and has not doing anything with it. These multiplayers, the pirate gameplay we got in Assassins creed 3, black flag and assassins creed canada(dont remeber the name), which would get reemerge as multiplayer aspect with sea of thieves and other ones, now even getting tagged by ubisoft with skull and bones...
In many ways Ubisoft has been ahead of the curve, alone with Assassins creed france we even had the somewhat co op mission single player experience, though i think you couldnt play the full campaign together, not sure. Though that game just was to ahead with so many things graphics,etc.
Assassins creed needs to make a full multiplayers assassins creed game, with modes like this. Without single player. Maybe with stealth, parkour and exploration being more in the focus, since they allways create beatifull and immersive games, but often lack in story with to much grind and to many stupid side content.
Like with all respect to assins creed 2 and its expansions they were immersive as hell and the solo parkour felt so anxious 4 meters above ground in some large rooms alone, but assassins creed 3 immersion was on a total different level. Ai in connection with combat allways has been questionable, even though in assassins creed egypt they have improve a lot. The best parts of assassins creed games allways have been parkour, immersion and exploration, maybe add stealth to it. Some of the minigames have been more fun, like black flags/ assassins creed 3 ship fighting or leonardos invention vehicles, or the combat in egypt + its different abilities/horse races. But it would be interesting to see a game just focus on the core, and i think it can work. Just looking at microsoft flight simulator...
