- Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame artist, Lucille Starr (1938-2020) performing with the Rodeo Wind Band at Festival Place in Sherwood Park, Alberta, in 2010. Her 1964 recording of "The French Song" sold over 1 million copies, making her the first Canadian artist to have a million seller.
She sound the same as she did when she was young. This is how you know the voice is genuine. Beautiful.
It is, or was almost shocking how few Canadians knew about her. I grew up in Holland and she was truly a "Star". She does look indeed very ill already in this clip, so sad, but that huge voice out of this 72 year old Gal, incredible .
Greetings from Vancouver to Michelle and Robert. Thanks for posting this clip.
Lucille looks terribly ill here, but she still had the wonderful quaver😊😊
