To me, it looks like the same process as punchneedle embroidery, or needle punching. Same type of thing-pushing thread through from the back. This gun does it faster, and on a much larger scale
@@Unpopularity i left the comment 8 months ago, when i quite literally could not find a single positive comment on this video, i imagine the comments have changed since then
Honestly I feel like this woman has been misclassed as decor. Her work should be in galleries. It goes way beyond decorative craft items. If she had the right connections in the art world she would be seen as the abstract genius she is. World love to know her story.
Abstract art is probably the most subjective kind of art there is I mean I can just put a bunch of pain on canvas and called it abstract and some people will just think that it’s the most beautiful thing ever
How should it be in gallery ? She pretty much replicates pictures she's seen. Into yawn pictures. Which she uses a gun to hammer the now useless yarn that could have been used for clothes. It's like wasting food to make "art" .
Wow she's swol af. Damn girl. Also ignore the comments saying your work is bad. Art is subjective and just because they don't like it doesn't mean it's bad.
i’m actually in love with her design show so no one else seeing the creativity and how cool it is i’m especially in love with the way she changes the lengths of the yarn to create texture and the dripping effect on the stairs one i also really love the city one
These would be really cool in places that need sound dampening. A colorful rug on the wall would stop the echo and make a space so much more interesting.
Art is subjective, maybe you're not personally a fan of her work but that doesn't change the fact that's she's incredibly skilled! It's so impressive to work with such an uncharted medium and still be able to create really technically and aesthetically beautiful stuff :)
Henry Steeze No need to be so rude about it, jeez. They said art is subjective, so stop acting like you’re speaking for everyone when it’s just your opinion.
@@kumakumab appreciate the opinion. Ngl in my last video I state that my audience isn't very big and probably won't be because of the content I create. Not that you give a shit, but still.
I went to art school and had a six hour class just on color for a year and I promise you, her understanding of color is incredible. People are so used to white, beige and neutrals that I genuinely believe that society is afraid of color. And shocked when artists, decorators and craftsman use it to an extreme. The majority of homes you see on TV are extremely safe when it comes to color. It’s like they don’t want to get it wrong, so they paint the walls every tone and hue of white imaginable and MAYBE add an accent pillow that is a solid color. There is nothing to stimulate the mind, and I think that comes from a lack of understanding color.
@pastidellia well now you’ve made me imagine it. The gun would stab the person repeatedly, and the force of the needle withdrawing might rip the person’s skin like a hand through cobweb. And maybe, on the other side of the freshly-detached skin, florets of yarn would bloom and painfully fill the now open wound, soaked in blood with knobs of flesh embedded into the horrific tapestry. If it’s on the abdomen, you might even see the inside of a human stomach with the added bonus of stomach acid gushing out, or have the needle hook an intestine and yank it out to be the garnish of your monstrosity of a piece. But that’s just a theory. A gore theory.
All of the negative comments must be from those that don't understand Fine Art. This woman is making masterpieces. This is called a technique and it's her choice to use it however she wants. Her color combinations are on point. She does amazing work 👏
I need to buy one of these... I have some insanely cool illustratation ideas and the fact that you can trim the length once its done will really make it pop. I'm so going to get one.
OMG! I think I have just discovered my new creative obsession! And I am trying not to turn green with envy because I would love to have a studio like Trish's! Many thanks for sharing this video!
I actually really really like this. It’s like a whole new form of abstract art. I bet all these negative comments would like this if it was actually paint instead of yarn! But I like the yarn it adds a lot of cool varying texture, kinda like impasto on paintings.
Im gonna say that shit looks PHENOMENAL, like modern art but with yarn, this shit is beautiful, I'd love to have this in my home if i could ever have one
I think the art you create is beautiful. Together the art, the colors and the way you have to work I’d say your art is incredible. I have trouble with a simple punch needle ! These are definitely “rugs” I would never step on, with the exception of the beautiful piece on the stairs. That one I would make sure my feet were sparkling clean and run up all that color feeling every bit of it!
Incredible I want in on creating this. Her rugs definitely belong on the walls not the floors 😉 I was amazed at that one that too me looked like a city scape, it’s absolutely gorgeous! 😊
I had an art teacher in high school who did something like this for a living, but Im not sure if she used the tufting gun. Her rugs looked like paintings!! And so many students didnt agree that it was art. I was so pissed for her.
Isn’t this just needle point? I’m not trying to discount her beautiful art, because it’s really really cool, but I don’t believe this is a new technique.
Great idea taping the metal to the back of your gun to keep the yarn out of the gears. Thanks . I was going to extend the metal loop with a broken tip off an old fishing rod I have.
I'm surprised so many people don't like the designs. I loved these... Particularly the skyline one and the one that looks like paint dripping down a staircase. Either way, beautiful work!

I agree!
I know a lot of people are saying they don’t like the colors or how it looks, but I actually like it XD

Exactly!! People are so basic I stg
It's a pretty wild style - I'd love that city piece though, or that dripping sort of style would look amazing as a runner carpet

Same but I love colourful crazy stuff so it makes sense
This is really just a modern adaptation of needle pointing.
What is needle pointing? I don’t know anything about sewing and stuff like that
