This is the Sling shot (Big Shot) Ride on top of the Stratosphere Resort in Las Vegas, NV. The Hotel is 270ft tall and then the Big Shot tower is another 150ft.
Rode this and nearly shit my pants. Whoever says this ride is not scary is lying. My mom and I rode it and it was extremely horrifying but the best thrill rush you could ever encounter.

I was smiling when I went on it and I went on it 3 times, x-scream 5 or 6 times and insanity twice. I would've went on more times but we had to leave because we had a David copperfield show to go to. X-scream was my favorite.
The first time I rode this ride, me and my father had no idea it launched you up, and then slowly brought you down. We were so the only ones on the ride. The past few rides we’d been on like this, the ride slowly brings you up, and then you free-fall down, and that’s what we thought this ride was. The amount of fear in our voices as we launched upwards at the speed of light was hilarious. For a few seconds I thought the ride malfunctioned and we are going to launch through the top of the ride. When we reached the top and then slowly fell to the ground was one of the biggest reliefs of my life.
I went in that ride many many years ago. Maybe the early 2000’s. I learned that they take an unexpected photo of you when the ride first shot up. I remember laughing so hard. In the photo I look like I’m terrified and going to barf.!
I have to admit, that was the scarist ride I had even been on. I was fine , happy and excited untill it hit me that i was already at one of hte tallest spot in Vegas. Now they are about to shoot me up even higher. Thats when i paniced, 2 seconds to late......... Still one of hte best views of Vegas you can get. Once you get the guts to open your eyes
I would think this ride is even scarier because at that height you can’t even tell where the ground is. At an amusement park you can at least get a sense of where the ground is if you did fall. But not being able to tell because you can’t see the top of the thing you’re even on? Sounds like trying to step down a ladder and never finding your footing.

This isn't even scary, all you need to worry about of the gravity when you fall down. Ya know that feeling when you have to pee when you are going down really fast? That's what i'm talking about
You think this is the scariest? Pfft try go to enchanted kingdom in Philippine we have a same copy of this but slowly goes up and drop them 1000 feet to the ground the only thing saving them is the recoil brw near 10 deet
its all about the shock factor. Six Flags may have a taller drop. but doing it like over 1000 ft is better
