The last great Emperor of Byzantium Manuel Komnenos was buried here. His black marble multi domed sarcophagus still existed in the 16 th century. Sadly destroyed along with so many others.

Excellent video - very pleasing to see so many of the original elements carefully restored and preserved. The original Komnenian era flooring was particularly beautiful.
