Jeez they really undersold the musical capabilities. "Create rumbling jungle, crazy chiptune, terrifying speedcore, all with the Amiga 500! Tracker software sold separately, see instore for details...."
The Amiga 500 is the system I started my design career on in 1987 (ok well it was a few more years before I was doing anything paid). Really took me back! And Jackson Beck the G.I. Joe narrator! And knowing is half the battle.
Somehow I still remember my old Prodigy ID (DXMV05A), and even my cousin's (JMPK72A). Crazy considering I haven't thought about these things in more than 25 years.
0:19 was the man doing the voice over , sounded like Ken Nordine He used to do the Levis Commercials back in the 1970's: " with DACRON POLYESTER".. [whispering ] "Dacron polyester..." and so much other voice work, and is still going at 98 years old! Rock on Ken!! 😀👍
Wow there was a digital version of Weekly Reader back then? I vaguely remember that magazine name from when I was a child but not much else, maybe it was too popular at the library so I never got to read it
So this made me search for examples of images digitized by amiga and I'm looking at a magazine ad for the amiga digi view and it mentions "dithering" now my engineering degree is working
I vividly remember the Commodore 128 and the Apple Macintosh systems from that era. It is intriguing to contemplate the reactions of the engineers who created those pioneering machines if they could see all the bells and whistles of a modern iPhone or Galaxy phone. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I never found anything useful to do on Prodigy, and eventually the web made it obsolete.
AOL made prodigy obsolete 😆

@@AlexModeling I thought I was just fleecing this guy when he asked me to double his RAM to 32MB in '96 - and told him he'll never really need it!

We went from this to AI in a short time. Bizarre
AI started in the 80s
😎
But can it make a TPS report?
F1, F1, F1, F1...
Funny how so many of the promises of the first home computers are now being echoed by those promoting AI.
