I have a confession for the world. I suffer from depression and one of the hardest things for me to do was ask for help. Even with the woman I love I didn't let her know. I didn't want to seem weak to her. I guess I thought I was Superman. Just today, I told her we have to have a serious talk. I'm going to tell her EVERYTHING. also I called my social worker and I let her know I NEED HELP. and when I did that, I felt a weight lift off me. I think it's because I decided to no longer carry it all on my shoulders. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It's actually a sign of being stronger than I knew I was. And braver. Maybe I am a Superman. I am facing my limitations.
I think she would have and, I am convinced, Supes didn't know if he was going to let her go or not. He wasn't sure that his promise was worth her life.
This is Superman. Someone who listens, someone who cares, someone who trusts, and someone who loves everyone. Also, sorry about your loss. You have my condolences and my sympathy.
I have read Superman comics for years. This issue, is without a doubt my favorite, most thought provoking, insightful of any comic book I have ever read. Your video has done it justice, thanks.
THIS is why Superman is the greatest superhero of all time! It’s not his strength, flight, heat vision, or anything else. What makes Superman the best can be summed up in two words: “He Cares”
The black officer’s VO talent is slept on. He was incredibly good. Natural. Great tone. The other officer was good too, he just didn’t have as compelling of dialogue to deliver. Obviously Superman is awesome, and the young lady the star. Wonderful performances all around.
A lot of people think Superman is boring but I have more respect for him than any other superhero because He's wise he keeps his word no matter what and does his best no matter or how bad things get to save the day sometimes he wins sometimes he loses But in the end he always brings hope to people
It's cuz most forms of media with superman show nothing but superman being powerful and fighting against bad guys. Someone needs to put scenes like this (and also, scenes of superman saving a child from abusive parents) and put it on the big screen. It will give him personality and humanity which is literally the entire point of his character. Not just some almighty powerful god.
@@Naruto-bp6hm When it comes to people who abuse their spouses or children, Superman is almost merciless towards them. I remember one story where Superman caught someone beating up his wife. He didn't kill the guy, or break any bones, but Superman did toss him like a salad.
That last part really hits. Superman asking "what are you doing out there?" does put in perspective how we see others vs how we act. I don't want just to like heroes. I wanna have a hero look at me and say "you're also one of us."
I have read a lot of negative comments of this arc. Those people never understood the human nature, and how Superman embraced it living in his farm at Kansas. Superman is this, a human in spirit, in his soul; not an alien, instead a fully spirit human being.
@@dukeheavens9990 No dumbfuck it's not. Superman is supposed to be portrayed as human. Someone who gets sad, angry, feels alone, questions if what he is doing is the right thing. I always assumed his lack of response ro the question "Would you have let her do it" to not be him saying he would have, but that he doesnt know, he was just thankful he didnt have to make that choice.

THIS is what Superman is. THIS is why threw every changing time he persists. Not because he stops world ending threats not because he has all the powers. It’s his genuine humanity. If Clark Kent did not have his powers. But found himself next to somebody on the ledge not a single thing about this interaction with change except how he got down
I know I'm struggling every day with anxiety and depression. This world is a hard place to be in. Gives me compassion for those with less than me.
Fantastic narration. All my best to you and all those reading this. 🍻
I have a lot of those days. Whenever I feel desperate or miserable, I try to give thanks for the good things I DO have. And when I can't do that, I imagine loosing those things, and the sadness makes me appreciate once again, the good life I have.
Reach out. Visit an animal shelter and pet a dog. Smile at an old lady. Call a friend you've lost touch with.
God bless you, I pray you get better, and that you’ve the strength to go on.
This is why I love Superman.
