These are great ideas. A few years ago, in December, we lost power for 23 hours. During the night, I brought in my large solar lights from the yard and placed them in vases so we had light inside. It was great!

Love some of these ideas, but I would probably buy a good quality solar light that would last. I hate the thought of adding to landfill plus if I am going to go to all that effort I want things to last! Thanks for the ideas!

We had purchased several expensive solar lights and then got a few from the dollar tree for a different area and we had some from each place go bad rather fast, but we had several others from both places last several years. I think we will buy extras from the dollar tree as needed to replace the old ones and the ones that give up early will provide extra parts for the others. Just a fyi when the powers out they work great to light the way inside the house and can be recharged the next day.

P.S.: To cut foam things, like pool noodles.
use a, Walmart grade, kitchen knife. Not
the knives you paid $50 to $200 for.
You will get quick clean cuts. 😁✌🖖

Depends on which ones you choose. I work at a Dollar Tree/Family Dollar hybrid store and I've got several different kinds of these. Honestly, the FD ones are slightly better but they are more expensive at $3 each. So I can confirm that it's really a mixed bag with them all. I have ones that didn't work to begin with (which is the only reason I got them at a discount) and some that are still going strong, and some that worked at first but rusted on the inside and stopped working.
