Hello Kings and Generals. May I ask. What are your plans for the future? Would you continue with Napoleonic wars or with the Ottoman Conquest? Or are you planning on doing a parallel series?
Everyone voted so hard that the palace caught on fire and burned down But the shogun didn't care he was off somewhere doing poetry And the whole country broke into pieces
Everyone is fighting with each other for local power and it's anybody's game Knock knock, it's Europe, no they're not here to take over, they just wanna sell some shit, like clocks... And guns... And JESUS
Your videos are awesome keep it up. Of all the other history channels I've seen RUclips, the production quality here is the vest best. Really enjoying your videos! Griff
Preoccupied with their wizard battles. Some nut's trying to project a mass mind control spell off the moon so a fifteen year old orphan and an amature rapper have to stop him. Just another tuesday really.
The term ninja is really just a rogue samurai I believe who lost there master or "sensei". Could be wrong though haven't researched Japanese warriors in a while.
It’s time for who’s going to be the next shogun. Usually it’s the shogun’s kid, but the shogun doesn’t have a kid so he tries to get his brother to quit being a monk and be the next shogun. But then the shogun has a kid. So, now who’s it gonna be? Vote now on your phones. And everyone voted so hard that the palace caught on fire and burned down. (The shogun actually didn’t care he was off somewhere doing poetry.)
I'm not very knowledgeable on Japanese history but I can already foresee an absolute clusterfuck on the horizon trying to figure out who's who and what they did
Good choice! The Sengoku Jidai brought forth many great strategists that had some incredibly clever and risky moves up their sleeves to win their battles. I'll enjoy seing you unravel and narrate more battles from the Sengoku period (esp. the ones Takeda Shingen, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu fought)
Good episode once again. However, in my opinion, you are at your best when you can go into the tactics of the battle. Which unfortunately the last videos lacked. Still great content, but would love to see more battles where the tactics shines.
You can't be further away from Robert than Yoshimasa XD Actually the Baratheon familly was much inspired (from Martin's says themselves) by the Plantagenets of England; and Robert is clearly a character inspired by Richard Lion Hart, all the way to the ridiculous death ;) (For Richard it was a stray arrow during a siege while, as the legend has it, he was getting near to the walls to congratulate an ennemy defender on his skill).
black ops European warfare is far more interesting though. Japans isolation made them far technology inferior and they never developed plate armor, swords other than shitty katanas, and never used shields. European warfare is so much more interesting as a 15th century european army would destroy a 17th century Japanese army
wrong, wrong and wrong. Samurai armor was made of metal, they even had chainmail. they also had a very varied selection of arms, katanas were side arms just like arming swords for a european knight, their primary weapon was polearms. samurais didn't use shield because they fought in horseback, but their shoulder armor worked kinda like shield, but foot soldiers did used hand held shields though. and they were masters of warfare, when you are fighting non stop for almost 100 years you gotta learn a thing or two, when they invaded Korea no one could stop them in land, even the Chinese had a hard time, if it wasn't for the absolute defeat on sea they could have conquered all the way to china. and about technology, they loved firearms, during the Sengoku Jidai there were more Arquebuses in Japan than in all europe, some say one of the reasons Oda Nobunaga was so sucessful was because of his pioneer use of firearms in open combat. the discussion about who would win is pretty mute, Japanese were masters in fighting other japanese, if they faced Europeans they wouldn't have the tools and strategies to deal with them, but they would adapt or die, if you are fighting a enemy you were not trained to face, then your only option is to see what you are doing wrong and learn what you need to face the new enemy.
"Japan was at war during the Sengoku Period between 1467 and 1590, as feudal lords vied for supremacy.[7] Matchlock guns were used extensively and had a decisive role in warfare. In 1549, Oda Nobunaga ordered 500 matchlocks to be made for his armies." "Japan became so enthusiastic about the new weapons that it possibly overtook every European country in absolute numbers produced.[9] Japan also used the guns in the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, in which about a quarter of the invasion force of 160,000 were gunners.[15] They were extremely successful at first and managed to capture Seoul just 18 days after their landing at Busan.[16]" about firearms in the sengoku jidai its probably a exaggeration, its just something I read people say. when they introduced the Portuguese firearms it was already popular in Europe. but Oda was one of the first to get real use from firearms in open battle when they were still not very effective unless in specific situations. the first large battle won by the extensive use of firearms happened just half a century ago, and europeans didn't expand the use of firearms until the beginning of the 17th century, until then they used mostly cannons. though the Ottomans and Turks did use Muskets quite a lot, I think they were actually the first to actually use firearms extensively to the point that by the 17th century, cavalry charge was obsolete. I also read that the fact that early firearms didn't work very well against the strongly armored european soldiers, so it took some time until later designs were so effective that it would make other forms of warfare obsolete, can't confirm that though.
Hellenic Mapping though it was an importan battle in greek history, it wasnt even a battle, because the persians couldnt even get prepared for battle, so the greeks slaughtered the surprised persians who just jumped out their ships, so there is not much tactic or strategy to talk about.
Em1lic0! Well you have seen only the movie my friend... In reality the Persians had all their army out of the ships and they were in the beach chilling for 3 days before the first Greek arrive... Watch some videos and you will see
It wasn't only a woman's ambition. It was also the ambitions of the nobles that used the succession issue as a pretext for the war which they continued even when the succession was resolved. We're all capable of selfish ambitions.
I'm pretty sure Kay Kew is just kidding around. It's a popular joke on the internet to blame everything on women, kinda like "thanks obama" meme. Nothing sexism here btw :)
Rick Ling lol, first weaboo triggered, and idk, i just love Mario, its one of the few things that I actually like about Japan, Japan used to have men who fought sword to sword with katanas for honor, now they get in love with bodypillows.
Aron Johansson I think sir that what you are refering are the cruasades and his iconic Deus Vult, but sir, I did not ask for that, I ask gentenly what mean Deus Veult. It is really a big enigma for me.

This is the first episode of the Sengoku Jidai series, which was chosen by my Patrons. Hopefully it's good enough :)
great choice ! i m sure it s gonna be awesome
Very nice.
awesome!
Nice job. Any chance of covering post-gunpowder battles?
Do the battle of Didgori.
Soldier: "Are we the baddies, sozen?"
Sozen: "Do you see any skulls in our uniforms?"
underrated comment, love mitchell and webb :D
Soldier: "Does Demons with horns count????"
Gave me a small heart attack. :-) Thankfully, we are working on another video about the history of Japan. :-)
Good to see u here!
Good to be here. :-)
Could you just focus on the other first before making the Japanese one please...
Hello Kings and Generals. May I ask. What are your plans for the future? Would you continue with Napoleonic wars or with the Ottoman Conquest? Or are you planning on doing a parallel series?
The order of our lizard overlords. :-)
It's good to see a video of the Sengoku Period that's not about Nobunaga and focuses on less known events. Great video, Baz!
its the start of Sengoku Jidai... I'm sure Nobunaga Oda will be featured in another video i.e. the Battle of Nagashino
Nobunaga comes around 130 years later, they'll touch on that too, aye.
i mean he was pretty good at bearing those sandals.
GerackSerack Lol Nobunaga from HxH
I wish those Sengoku Jidai Period Video Games start with Uncle vs Nephew Battle, not Nobunaga's Rise.
Everyone voted so hard that the palace caught on fire and burned down
But the shogun didn't care he was off somewhere doing poetry
And the whole country broke into pieces
vesteel ah a man of culture
Ah, I see your a man of culture as well.
I guess...
And drinking tea!
Everyone is fighting with each other for local power and it's anybody's game
Knock knock, it's Europe, no they're not here to take over, they just wanna sell some shit, like clocks... And guns... And JESUS
The Shogun did not care he was off doing some poetry.
So the Shogun's brother who had been living as a monk shows up and suddenly his wife falls pregnant. Seems legit
For all we know, that was part of the deal. Especially if the Shogun was into poetry and tea parties. If you know what I mean...
Dan Boud maybe a was a swish,
Has notttthiiing to do with iiiittt...
The Brother should have stayed a Monk.

You're thinking of Ronin.
Ninjas are Chinese

Thank you so much. There are tons of epic battles in Asia history. Looking forward to watch them on Bazbattles.
Gotta love the Mitchel and Webb Look reference.
"Are we the baddies?"
increible, nicely done, narrated and most important the start of the sengoku jidai wars and battles
That was extremely interesting and well executed.

your channel is amazing, I love this way of retelling important military campaigns in history...
Very nice can’t wait to Oda Nobunagas rise and the Battle of sekigahara
Nobunaga's first battle was around 1555, this is around 70 years before.

I love this channel!
"most likely died from natural causes" I like to think ninjas took them out :D
Yeah there's almost no chance that 2 leaders die in the same time.
the illustrations on these videos are phenomenal. well done!!!
Can you please do the Battle of Towton? It was the largest battle of the War of the Roses and one of the biggest battles in medevil history.
+Wanderer628 28,000 dead in a single day, after Watling Street, Britains second bloodiest battle.
I know this is really late, but Kings and Generals did a video over Towton not less than 3 weeks ago
Very nice and extraordinarily easy to follow. Thanks for a bright light shone into a very complex lattice of people, places, and events.

A series about the Reconquista and now another series of the Sengoku Jidai? HELL YES!!!!

Best frickin channel on YT.
Another example of a woman's power ambitions causing a war that tore apart a system
totally, recognize that with only looking at the cause and the war after effect. Heir authority should have been given to Yoshimi.
It wasn't only a woman's ambition. It was also the ambitions of the nobles that used the succession issue as a pretext for the war which they continued even when the succession was resolved. We're all capable of selfish ambitions.
