- The head of Netflix, Scott Stuber is stepping down and Dan Lin is going to replace him. Now Dan Lin was interviewed for the job at DC before Zaslav chose James Gunn and Peter Safran. Dan Lin actually turned down the job and so their search continued. But it looks like he has now found his new home at Netflix. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed this news yesterday and since then, I have had multiple people sending me a quote from Dan Lin regarding the SnyderVerse fandom. “Speaking on The Ankler Hot Seat podcast in early August, Lin poked fun at fans of Zack Snyder's DC movies when discussing his aspirations to lead the franchise over a decade ago.”

I want to add that I listened to the audio version of his podcast and it sounds like he actually says "all those bots" and not "autobots". So actually a worse phrase.
This right here is indicative of how Dan Lin could likely hurt Netflix. As the head of Netflix, you shouldn’t belittle and dehumanize your subscribers, regardless of the fact that they like Zack as a filmmaker and as a person. You treat them with respect because they could be potential new customers for Netflix and many are already subscribed because of Zack. Fact of the matter is Zack brought a lot of attention and fans to Netflix with Army and Rebel Moon came out, regardless of how those films were received. And the conversation about #SellZSJLtoNetflix drew in new subscribers to Netflix and sparked more interest in possibly expanding Netflix’s library. With Dan in charge and his views on Zack’s fans made clear, Dan Lin should really choose his words more carefully when the day comes when Netflix is absolutely desperate for subscribers.

Not being funny but I wasn't sure this movement was still a thing (haven't followed any of it on twitter in a while). I'm a big Snyder fan but honestly, I moved on from the idea of the Snyderverse continuing a long time ago. If by some miracle it were to still happen I'd support it, but I moved on ages ago and now anticipating the DCU.
I saw this coming , but if it can be made in animated form that would be welcoming.

It was never going to Netflix. Noway WB let DC characters in brand new films at Netflix. DCU and DC Elseworlds will be WB. They will let the films after that play on Netflix once been out for a while. And the feedback on the first Rebel Moon 🌙 i wouldn't count on it.
While I've not really understood why the Netflix thing was even being discussed its still hard not notice the pattern. One video says it's over and never going to happen. Then Snyder will send out a random tweet of his elbow and then videos will pop up saying thats Zach's way of saying the Snyderverse will be restored. "I mean why else would he put that out there, He has nothing to gain." Ha. I feel like it keeps happening like that.

This whole DC leadership is a complete disaster it has been since 2017. they have basically let the franchise sit and rot for 8 years we couldve had justice league 2 and 3 and man of steel 2 by now. He seems like a very “look at me” type guy and tries to show everyone that he’s the smartest guy in the room. I want a studio head that doesn’t need the spotlight. Also for something like DC i want someone who understands that people want to see the characters they grew up loving not Creature Commandos Or Peacemaker. I don’t think we’ll necessarily get this with Gunn.

Ben Affleck is going to be pushing 60 by the time a new Snyderverse movie would be ready to start filming. I know with CGI and AI he doesn't have to do all the stunts but I can't see him doing it.
I think the best we can hope for as a Snyderverse fan, is that we get a animated type movie in the same vein as the Justice League Dark Apokalypse type of thing.
Then it's easy getting all the actors to do the voice work.
My personal opinion is that the JL Dark movies needed like 5 tweaks and it would have been the greatest most perfect Comic book adaptation ever. I thought that was one of the best Comic Book series ever especially the last one, the way it ended was incredible.
But if we are lucky we will get maybe a 6 to 10 hour animated series for the Snyderverse.
I will be incredibly happy if that happens. I don't want a graphic novel. I'll take an animated series though.

@OurMovieNews it doesn't have to be Netflix. Remember they all said the Snydercut would never get released either and the rest is history.
But ZSJL was different because it was a mostly finished product that only needed vfx and some additional scenes finished. So it was easier to give Snyder the money for that. Not to mention WB needed more content for HBO Max. With restoring the Snyderverse, you’re talking about making brand new movies from scratch which would cost INSANE money, and the viewership numbers most likely wouldn’t be enough to justify it. Not to mention they’d have to bring the actors back and those actors would most likely ask for more money than they were making when the DCEU/Snyderverse was still a thing. The only way I can see the Snyderverse realistically being restored is either through graphic novels or animation. Either that or if James Gunn decides to do it out of the kindness of his heart, because he runs DC now.

Seems to be an awful lot of conclusion being made based on one comment. Not so sure that’s how Lin feels about the Snyderverse but I do agree that the chances for the Snyderverse at Netflix are slim but I already felt that way. Right now I’m more interested in the directors cut of Rebel Moon part one. Any word on when we’ll be able to watch that ? A continuation of the snyderverse should be at DC studios but I believe it would be as some sort of crossover with the current universe Gunn is building like a story where the current superheroes get overwhelmed and taken over or go evil and another universes superheroes are needed to save everything(this being Snyder’s superhero’s)
We have the 3 movies. Anything else would've been a bonus. I'm always open, but long ago now, understood that it's near enough an impossibility, this news just adds to that.

I agree, push for a comic. As much as I hate the whole idea of AI, I feel that if the comic comes out, someone out there would make a motion comic/audio drama using the voice likenesses of the actors. Best case scenario would have them voice their characters again. Personally, aside from The Batman, I'm tuned out of comic book movies. Maybe Deadpool 3 too but that's it. I have no interest in James Gunn's universe. I wish him good luck, but honestly I think the fanbase has been so burned by WB that essentially it's on a boycott. We want what we want. There is a demand for the Snyderverse. There is a demand for Batman Beyond. There is a demand for Matt Reeves universe - but aside from The Batman, WB and James Gunn have outright slapped people in the face for even asking for it. He comes off as immature, and is more interested in things like Jurassic League than Batman Beyond which fans have begged for an adaptation for ages. Keep in mind this guys favorite Robin is Damian Wayne too. I'm not opposed to the character, I think the best incarnations are when he's literally just a child that Batman biologically fathered and is still learning - not an overly edgy and poorly written angsty teenager, but we haven't even gotten a proper Dick Grayson or Tim Drake adaptation. Let alone Jason Todd. It's all moving too fast, to the point where actors are tied and announced for movies that haven't even been written yet. DC is going to crash and burn again because they haven't learned anything from the DCEU.

I played Robocop: Rouge City recently. And I can honestly tell you there is no way a continuation of a passed movie franchise is working better than in that format. Otherwise the actors can't ever be brought back in that same age and status they had before justice ZSJL was already filmed. And with games like Midnight Suns or Spider Man 1 and 2 I see no reason why that format wouldn't work for that particular story. WB Games made a huge blow with Suicide Squad and the particular story of that game. They have to get back in good graces with the fans somehow. There is no better way than make a ZSJL Game with the Snyderverse Story at the Core. Someone should start a campaign with that idea. Don't you think?

As a rational DC fan (interested in some separate stuff), I’d be ok with SnyderVerse animated, although I’d rather see that licensed on Netflix, as in the case of Caped Crusader which went to Amazon, so that it’s produced by Mr. Snyder himself. Shall see.

Well, I’m sorry, fellow Snyderverse fans, But with Dan Lin in charge of Netflix and considering the fact that he doesn’t like Snyderverse fans, the chances of “RestoreTheSnyderverse” are getting smaller and smaller. Still there are those who are still holding on towards the movement and I respect that. Because those fans care deeply about what they want. Now, I’m one of those fans, but I’ve personally let go of the RestoreTheSnyderverse mindset thinking/understanding that the reality of the Snyderverse being restored is very slim. I’d like to be proven wrong and have it restored at all, but for now, I’ll wait and see what James Gunn and Peter Safran have with Superman Legacy and their DCU. So here’s to hoping for some good DC movies and stories with the characters we love! (Hopefully!)

This entire Zack Snyder saga just reeks of entitlement. Every writer/director has a story about a film that didn't get made but for some reason Snyder and his feel like Zack's entitled to get every failed project made. It's taking the shape of its own myth - that Zack was wronged and his cult must make it tight with hashtags.
Snyder cultists are on a holy crusade of harassment and trolling. They don't even watch other projects Affleck, Gadot and other DCEU stars are in --- ONLY SNYDER. Its crazy. Zack isnt owed anything. WB doesn't have to sell IP in order for ONE filmmaker to make a couple films. Those characters and films AREN'T the property of Zack Snyder. Zack Snyder should be worried about his own original IP and content and not others. The hashtag mafia should let their obsession of hate and mischief go

Marvel fans didn't ask for a boycott of the MCU/DISNEY (Gunn Must finish his vision etc) Fans moved on. In fact Pratt, Bautista and others got backlash for asking for Gunn's reinstatement. Disney/MCU let Gunn finish that movie without fans being the ones creating an uproar
On the other hand - it's Snyder fans that are trying to hold WB execs hostage with hashtags and act like they run WBD corporate. Zack Snyder wasn't fired by WB. He made Army Of The Dead in 2021. He NEVER sent a MoS/JL2 script to WB as his next project. Zack & Deborah Snyder shopped their zombie verse to WB and other studios and Netflix picked it up. It's Zack's cult that has been perpetuating a non stop hashtag war since WB relented and allowed Zack Snyder to finish JL. Now fans want 4-5 more movies when there's no contracts or deals. ZS JL was okay but not phenomenal. DC can do better and should have done better prior to MOS.
While i agree that they could've done better with man fo steel, it wasn't a bad film
I was a big of a fan as anyone regarding the Snyderverse but come on people, you need to move on. It's over. The actors are not getting any younger and Zack is working on other things. We had a good run with the first four movies and then our proper send off with ZSJL. Everything comes to an end so you have to be happy that we at least got some closure when for a long time it looked like we wouldn't. Life goes on with or without you.
