Nema ti tu bosanskog bureka.
I am from Serbia and it was very interesting and cute how you pronounced the names of our dishes! You have chosen everything beautifully, and of course, there are so many more beautiful ones that you need to try. You should also go south of Belgrade, to western Serbia, to see some more local dishes. I'm sure you would love it! I salute you and wish you all the best! Good luck!👍👌😀
Go to Bajina Basta its just great there
What a legend eating pihtije in Serbia as a tourist. Big respect and greetings from Switzerland
I love the Serbian food!!!
It hurt my soul every time you called pleskavica a burger. It’s not even in the same category.
😂
Thank you for the compliments, you still have a lot to try around Serbia. By the way, there is much better burek in Novi Sad than the one you tried :).
Next time try beans with dry ribs, pork knee in kajmak, fried peppers stuffed with kajmak and cheese, veal stew, wedding cabbadge... The list is long.
Enjoy!!!
Brimze you need to try brizLe, also lamb, cvarci, kulen, ajvar, pindjur, gibanica, mekike, podvarak, prebranac, etc
Mekike obavezno
Princes krofne i krempite obavezno
I'm from Serbia and I loved your video, great choices, of course as others said before me, there is a lot more to try, a lot of great food. Thanks for visiting our country. Cheers.
O.K. But, as I couldsee, burek was not made in traditional Belgrade way, and tchevaptchichi look like as they are Sarajevo style.
Fish Paprikas is best made in Sombor, Apatin, Bezdan, for me Bezdan is best at "carda Pikec" and "carda sebesfok" its only real paprikas its only carp, dried paprika, water, onion and thats it mostly, the finesse is in the special type of wood used that gives it recognizible flavor, its actually a Hungarian dish and its also served in those parts of hungary that border Serbia near Sombor
Ako još nisi probao zapečeni pasulj obavezno ga probaj🤤
Good choice.
I would add...kajmak, čvarci, šunka, škembići.
Great video again🎉
Thx for stopping by and visiting Serbia! Loved the video, especially the pecenje/roasted pork. You are welcome to do more videos/reviews ect. Quality content.
Great video..Congrats man..pihtije you must eat with some food..it was like salad..for example with pecenje😊
love this video! 😊 You still have a lot to try around Serbia... 😋 Go on!
Great music,great food!!!
Thank you mate for this video!!! O, you made me feel bad, when you were eating that pecenje, and i’m so hungry 🤤 😊
4:38 Look my foreign brothers and sisters how burgers should look 4:38
Instead of those ridiculous tall but narrow things you call burgers !
Also, the quality of Serbian burgers is awesome 👍🇷🇸
Sarma
is just amazing!!! I miss food from Serbia so much!!! Sarma, pljeskavica, kajmak, cevapi, burek, teleca glava u saftu… Uh….😊
I guarantee you that hamburgers or Pljeskavica as we call them on Balkan are tastiest damn burgers on this planet. Both bread and specialy meat are diferrent in taste than what westerners are used to.
Yumm! Serbian food gives me lots of protein for me muscle and energy yarrrr! 💪 🇷🇸
Great video man, really enjoyed it.
Appreciate it!
the fact that you poured your yogurt over the burek instead of just drinking it would identify you as a foreigner at a 2km distance, made me chuckle heartily :') glad you like the food mate, hope you come back again
Im from serbia and food is delicious
Good choices!!!
Serbien food is the best! I love it!
Nice video
Hvala Mihailo
Could you please pass the burek! Oh yum 😋
Spot on for all the reviews. Don't worry about pihtije; it is said that you start liking them with age, and you're a young fella :) Just one minor detail: sarma filling is: pork, beef, rice, onions...no cheese ;)
Those pihtije did not look good :) some grandma needs to prepare them for him :) guess, one of those you shouldn't eat in all restaurants, they'll be too generic like. It needs that touch of a cooks soul in it :)
I agree with your choice
I have never seen an Anglo enjoying our food so much, including my ex wife! It was lovely 🥴 P. S. No one mentioned SKEMBICI IZ RERNE SA SIROM aka Tripe WITH CHEESE FROM THE OVEN, SLOWLY COOKED. BETTER THAN ITALIAN ONES. Also, try steak with prunes.
And you tryed pihtija, you went sooo faaaar brother! 🤣 and generaly its 50-50 on people... but you know what? I loved every bite of yours and list of things that you tried. Glad that you enjoyed ! There is many more, but keep it easy cowboy, you can hurt urself here 🤣😇 all the best! Come again about winter...
Pihtija is basically collagen. In 5 years when people realize that it repairs cartilage and keeps you wrinkle free it will be the coolest thing ever.
I use organic bone broth (Whole Foods) that cost for 30$ per liter. It has been consumed in the Balkans for centuries for a fraction of the cost!
There are more foods you missed: Punjene Paprike (stuffed peppers with minced meat and rice with tomato soup around it), pasulj corba (a bean soup with browned flour + garlic and it has some diferent smoked meat or sausages inside) or pasulj prebranac (sauted beans, mostly come with some roasted ribs), cvarci (a fried, smoked cubes from pork belly fat), a condiment named ajvar (a sweat and spicy chilly type condiment that you can spread on the bread or eat with any meat dish). Next two are not really a Serbian dishes, but we eat the here like they are: Gulash and Paprikash (both are Hungarian National Dishes). Those two are primarily eaten in northern part of Serbia called Vojvodina, cause it was part of Hungary once, we just kept the traditions. The "Fish Paprikash" you ate is actually a Riblja Corba (fish soup). Real Paprikash is made with beef and peppers and onions, and you saute it with tomato juice or passata and you can add grinned chilly peppers for spiciness. Also I do not know if this is Serbian or Hungarian, I am too lazy to research it, there is djuvech (a sauteed peppers and tomatoes with rice), which is one of my favorite dishes.
If I forgot something, my fellow Serbs help me out. Next time you come back, try these dishes. You are gonna be VERY VERY satisfied!
Prijatelju, kao da si mi iz Banata? 😊
Love the cap lol. Hi from a Serb in Baltimore. :)
listening to you mispronouncing names of food I came up with an idea to open a restaurant with menu printed like you say: pljeskavicka, burnes, kađordi steak etc etc ... and you will be invited to opening :D
😂😂😂
Hahahahha jebeno
Ubernet😂
Never heard someone butcher so many names :D great video
Glad you had a good time here!
Pihtije are an acquired taste, not everyone enjoys the wobbly collagen texture.
Povraća mi se od pihtija.
I love pihtije. With a little bit of kajmak, pickles, freshly baked bread, maybe even raw onion... Mmmm🤤
@@swatkabombonica4103 Good for you, collagen is very healthy, for many reasons. Sadly, I can't tolerate that texture.
I am shure Beograd has some really good places to eat. But for mindblowing experience, you have to travel to the south-east.
Nice restaurant, lived in that neighborhood for quite some time and, at least for me, every time service was good and food fresh, sometimes hard to digest but overall, I'm very satisfied. Good job BIRMZE
Cheers Dejan which restaurant do you mean?
@@BIRMZEsorry, the first one in video, "Zavičaj".
No cheese in sarma!Never!
GOD bless you brother.
Back at ya bro 🙏

Top man Tomi!
Thanx Mate👍💯
Best SERBIA !
Serbia ❤🇷🇸
Its a nice video mate, but as i see u didint try "Meso ispod sača". Bro. U will remember that day. 😂 Cheers 🍺🍺🍺
Nice nice 🎉🎉🎉
Lahana sarmasi ; Lovely Turkish dish as usual.😍
zavicaj you pronounce like za-wee-chay. zavicaj means homeland
Serbian food is much tastier when you eat with fingers
And with someone 😂👍
Thank you so much for your kind words. Verity of the food you tried it’s originating from all over the balkans. Obviously Serbia, but also, Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia, Greece etc. long long time of carting it with our BABAS and DEDAS ;)) food in general is thank god still good and organic here, we really have great cooks and service. Ex Yugoslavia was all about hedonism when it comes to hoteliering, restorants, having a good time, enjoying people, food and friends! I’m so happy that you had great time. ❤
I suggest also visiting beautiful south Serbia Nis & Novi Pazar, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia, Macedonia! They also have really really good meat and recipes slightly different from ours, but also very good in its on way! Amazing and beautiful land people! Enjoy friend. 😊
This is one of the most beautiful comments I’ve ever read ❤ you should be applauded gif your inclusivity and realism !!!! I am an orthodox Serbian from Bosnia ( Sarajevo ), now living in Australia and am married to a Croatian 😅 my brother to a Macedonian and my twin sister to a Serb
We were all once brothers and the very least we can do is respect that we once lived and shared the same experiences and grew up celebrating and eating the same. Yes we all have some slight differences, but we can still bf respectful to others and still prefer or love our own country food that we grew up eating 😊 god bless you!!!
Next time try" Carsko meso na zaru" sa kajmakom i telecu corbu in restorant Cacanin.
Every list of Serbian food is incomplete without ''Prebranac sa suvim mesom'', ''Ribić u kajmaku'', ''Kačamak sa ovčijim sirom'' and His Royal Majesty ''Jagnjetina ispod sača''.
No, those dishes aren't common. Roast or pecenje is a must try, we have unique roast restaurants in Serbia called pecenjare.
Thanks broo 😂😂😂😂😂
Bonappetit every and your are welcome in Serbia and Vojvodina my brother
You know frist rakija than food haha
I think it's the sour milk on the burek, it looks quite runny for the Kajmak.
Tasted good :)
Hey man, I'm from Serbia. Pihtije are like Marmite, ether you love or you hate it. Cheers!
there are two types of jogurt, thick and smooth
👍👏👏👏
next time bro try juneći obrazi , crevca na žaru 😊
Mmmm🤤 but he will hate that
Pecenje is the best
Roast is the best unless you are a vegan/vegetarian!
@@Brave2standaloneit is still the best, just you don't eat it❤

No cheese in SARMA.
😊
Good job black and white brother
Pihtije WAS common dish throughout Europe, but fell out of "fashion" in most of the continent.
English word for pihtije is aspic, in Russian it would be холодец....
zivio buraz
Birmze keep learning serbian words for food
OK Jeff I will after my karajordi snitzla :)
Its Zaveechay restaurant ;)
I am like inch away to say to hell with my diet, watching you eat those juicy meals, and guzzle up that burek and pljeskavica :D
Ha ha fair play
Mate, you got sterlet in that fried fish dish. It's probably one of the most delicious freshwater fish, but it's prohibited by law to fish it out.
Karadjordjeva or "girls dream" as they call it.
😂
I also love pihtije😂 but with some meat inside and a stronger garlic flavor😂
And something with it to balance it. Like kajmak, pickles, freshly baked bread, ect. People are taking pills, when they can enjoy tasty natural collagen 😊
@@swatkabombonica4103 You are so right! :))) 👏👌
@@Yv1111Vi 😂pihitije❤
you should have got the other burek the layered one
Prijatno ti bilo prijatelju, naša srpska kuhinja najbolja.
❤🎉👏😋
I'm so glad that you're enjoying your experience there... but I can tell you you're missing the greatest places to eat.. and I'm not talking expensive ..but some of the great-great spots ...also where's your bread the majority of foods you eat there you need bread ...we have some of the best bakerys but for some reason I don't know why..you're missing out on some of the greatest places and there are tons of it.. another thing Belgrade night life is the best in Europe 25 years now they win awards as the entertainment capital of Europe❤
Total glypost.izneverovao
I swear the whole Cabbage thing in the Balkans is an inside joke on anglos....
Nah man, we actually love Sarma. But it's not normal cabbage, it's pickled cabbage. If you've never had pickled cabbage it's way better than it sounds.
You should try all the world foods before you die
I never liked pihtije, but one day as a teenager in late 80's I returned home from a party around 3am super hungry. My parents were away for a week, the fridge was depleted, and the last thing remaining was pihtije. Oh boy how tasty was that at 3am :) Regardless I still don't like it. Some of those meals are seasonal, eg pihtije, sarma, pecenje are best to have in winter due to high calories.. How much kgs did you gain?
Koliko se nalupa covece?!😂😂😂
@@danijelmatic8441 a ti si bio samnom gladan pa su ti se svidele pihtije?
@@stjepannikolic5418 Kako sarma sezonsko jelo?
A što kaže her Žika Pavlović"BOLJE DA UMREM SIT NEGO DA ŽIVIM GLADAN"!!!😂😂😂
Omg, this is insane...
Next time u should tray čorbast pasulj sa suvim mesom
Thank you for the compliments, however there is so much more you have not yet tried. BTW, IN sarma there is no cheese 😂😏

That's the charm💯❤️👍
what restaurant was that where you ordered cevapi?
Sarajevski cevap in Zemun
@@BIRMZE Try in Cevabdzinica Savcic (Kralja Milutina 31). The best in Serbia
Milk was it? One has wander what you know about food when you call sauce "cheese" and sour cream "milk"
Karadordeva a druze ?
Good choices, pls never pour jogurt on burek/pita ever again 🤣🤣
Chwarzy= čvarci - they are missing
An interesting combination of Ottoman (borek, sarma, kaymak, cevapi), Central-East European (pork ribs, pleskavica), and Hungarian (paprikas) influences.
They are not the same. Turkish kajmak and Serbian are so different. Don't know how they're collecting theirs, but it's closer to some Greek yoghurt, then our, fat kajmak. When you crave home kajmak over there, there's no place to get it. Sarma, burek, baklava is aslo prepared differently. From all that, only names are left. Bosnia, probably, stayed more true to original Turkish recipes. Serbs love more juicy meat, that has to have some pork in it to make it fatter, and only beef ones can be found in Bosnia. Also taste good, but mixed with pork tastes juicier. Same goes for burek. In Bosnia they are strict with Turkish recipes.
Someone needs to invite u to the razanj party
never eat salad OFF the bite of the food. take it WITH food :) :) its usually TOO hot :) :)
