Watch it more than once, he truly believes in this faith.
The small nuances indicate that this was straight from the heart and the small pauses are normal considering there was millions watching.
The fact is he came in here to defend his beliefs, something he didn’t have to do.
He was right about a lot, psychotherapy is EVIL and originates from nazis.

Hi mbblover. We are both entitled to our own opinions and to believe what we choose to believe, however, I don't think it fair that you call me a liar having never even met me.
It is actually church policy that a person who is physically ill receive legitimate medical treatment from a healthcare professional if they are to continue participating with the church. (Anyone can go to their nearest church and be shown the specific policies on this.)
And I actually know of at least one person who is OT VIII (the highest level a person can currently reach in Scientology) who also takes medicine for epilepsy.
I am not sure where you get all of your data from - I suppose the internet and not actual experience? But ask yourself what I would have to gain here from lying. I personally am not the least bit interested in proselytizing or converting anyone to any religion. I simply answered someone's question based off of my own qualified experience.

1.) Yes I am saying the church does not discourage someone treating a medical condition. If you know someone who is a Scientologist and was told by other Scientologists not to get medical treatment then that is wrong. “The Way to Happiness”, a moral guide that Scientologist should follow specifically states that one should get medical treatment when needed.
OT’s do not have magical powers and are not impervious to illness. I know of none that claim this. In "Dianetics" it states that there can be things inherently wrong with a person’s body and no amount of auditing will fix that. In other words; your genetics are the cards you were dealt. Dianetics simply sought to deal with psychosomatic issues.
The OT VIII I know with epilepsy (not a girl and not an OT VII as you state) does not flaunt nor hide his condition. (And I know him in passing but I don’t see what that has to do with anything in this discussion.) Neither do any other Scientologists I know who take insulin, blood pressure medicine, etc. flaunt or hide their conditions. It is what it is.
I’ve been a Scientologist for 10 years and I am on New Era Dianetics auditing. I did not answer that before because I was really not interested in getting in a debate but hey I am willing to at least answer your questions if that’s what you want.
I get my data by personal experience. Yes I have read all the shit online but I don’t typically believe everything I see in the news or read online unless I can get some firsthand evidence to substantiate it. But also I have the other side of the coin (being a real Scientologist) to compare it to.
      2.) (Think I answered point #2 above.)
3.) I get a service for my donations that I consider well worth it. How else is my church going to pay the light bill? That money goes directly into the church so that others and I have a nice place to go and study or get auditing. It also funds social betterment projects. No church staff-member gets rich off my donations.
As for how people who leave Scientology are treated, they are usually left alone. I know three who have left and no one bothers them. Now the ones who leave and make unfounded, and serious accusations (and coincidentally enough most of them write “tell all” books to rake in some cash) I am sure they get some heat if what they are saying is untrue. Libel after all is illegal. Sure, unfortunately, some people did get a raw deal. There have been some people who had victimized fellow Scientologists and were later discovered to be Suppressive people who get off on harming others. When that is discovered they are expelled and their victims are given justice.
4.) As for truth; all I know is what I have witnessed personally. As for telling you how long I have ‘been in’ and what level I am at, I did that above. And again I have nothing to gain by telling lies or half truths.
And as far as telling you ‘all of this’ (your claims) are lies, I did no such thing. I simply stated that I don’t personally believe a lot of the stuff about Scientology I see online because it is different from what I have seen firsthand in Scientology. If you want to believe that then go for it. You’re allowed to do that.
Now, I am not interested in a debate. I was only interested in answering someone else's question but you seem so adamant in wanting to hear my comments on the points you brought up. I am glad to answer your questions if you want input from a Scientologist but if you have some axe to grind I don't want any part in that.

Patrick thank you for that very nice acknowledgement. Agreed, our opinions differ, at least our viewpoint on DM from what you posted here, but I have respect for you and mbblover too. I have a deep admiration for anyone willing to put their opinion out there in a public forum, even if its an opinion different than my own.

Scientology seems very like ancient religions/philosophies like hermetic philosophy in many way... not the church, the view on spirit and the body... the psychological view of belief in a creator, a creative source , is contrived as hell, again we have something being viewed from the position of having a conclusion before you start evaluating.

No, no no no. definitely do NOT expect physical conditions to be handled if you do the purification rundown. Things like that MAY happen, like for my grandpa who smoked that happened, but nothing is guaranteed. You even sign a thing saying you don’t expect those things to be handled specifically, but they could. I did it and felt great afterwards so I would recommend

After the re-releasing of the 1993 event (announcing the Church's IRS tax exemption status) tape for Church members recently, this interview takes on more significance. This interview was done during the few years when the IRS was working with (and inspecting) the Church for exempt-status honestly for the first time. This was at the order of the IRS commissioner who was finding out about the IRS corruption, especially in the LA unit, against the Church. Many documents were released to the the Church through FOIA and in the course of the investigation. That is why Mr. Miscavige is saying things like, "We just found out this week . . .." Puts a whole different new light on the allegations made by bitter anti-religion folks.

    • @petzoid
      @petzoid 7 лет назад +1

Jason Michael Martin Yes, it is a religion. Even the IRS has acknowledged that. It addresses man as essentially a spiritual entity that is immortal and that one's future spiritual condition depends on the moral choices he makes.
