This is why I put on Smash Ultimate's massive soundtest menu on shuffle. I often play this kind of game whenever I use the mp3 feature. Never gets old to me.
For the Fire Emblem Blazing Blade one, I would absolutely say just calling it Fire Emblem counts because in English, it actually just was called Fire Emblem, there was no Blazing Blade about it in the title in the localization.
Is DS’s just a compressed version? I thought that there was some instrumentation changes. Then again, I also can believe it was compressed given how almost no one used the DS’s native instruments due to how bad they are.
I often listen to Bayonetta 2 ost. I was so angry that this song was picked for this guessing video, I unintentionally let out a surprised scream and threw my phone (on my couch). Out of all the ost, this is maybe the only one impossible to guess. I’m still so mad at this video and laughing at myself for getting this angry x).
Setting the bar rather high with that target score of 1…the limbo bar that is. 6:30 Jacob would’ve gotten on your case so hard if you didn’t know this and he found out. 14:20 Ambient music should not count or be included in these quizzes. This is the only one I got wrong because of that.
The only ambience I could probably guess is Prime 3, because I listen to it as background music. And I still think it shouldn't count on lists like this. 😅
@@MicaiahBaron Right, ambience that still has a sort of melody or something to identify it as being part of that game. Bayo2’s ambience felt generic as all get out. Even discounting that though, unless it’s ambience with a clear melody like Cave Dweller's Concert (or its Returns version in DKCTF which is more ambient but at least still recognizable with its slightly altered melody) or Misty Menace, then no ambient music on these Quizzes.
I love how many of the guests that went on the tarvolds quest videos somewhat regularly in some cases, but at least occasionally doing just random music quiz videos now. I need more of this content in my life.
5:01 Oh Jerod, you should hear the clip of Chemical Plant they have in the second Sonic quiz. ALL THE INSTRUMENTS SOUND WRONG! D: Also on the Fire Emblem tunes, Awakening is absolutely a great place to start, if I can recommend in my professionally unprofessional opinion. Loved the bit of Jerod going "Mario Kart Wii?" and his ENTIRE chat just going MK64! 18:38 Ohhhhhh, the saddest lore-heavy tune in the entire Kirby franchise. OH THIS SONG, you feel so different about it after finishing Robobot, it's such a tidal wave of emotions.
20:12 I mean, technically, you're not wrong. But I can't tell if you're saying that because Kirby's in it or because you're fully aware the Kirby composers composed the first two Smash Bros games. Also, I'm a tiny bit surprised you haven't heard anything from Bowser's Inside Story before. Its ost is pretty good. Generally the case with Yoko Shimomura tracks.
I mean, just look at the Brawl Ball music in Mass Attack... that's a rearrangement of the Targets! theme from Melee. So there's JUST enough wiggle room, imo.
Scored 25. Also PLEASE play Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. It’s amazing, even if I can’t beat the final boss because of my mashing (in)capabilities.
As soon as I heard the Golden Sun main theme I immediately felt a kid again. Man, I miss that game. It was one of those game where I spent literal days playing only that, ignoring the rest. I've been thinking recently of emulating it, since my old GBA is dead, and after hearing the theme again, that desire skyrocketed.
The Fire Emblem one is weird because, TECHNICALLY, the title of the original Japanese version should be Fire Emblem: The Sword of Raging Fire (for a direct translation). However, it was the first American release of the series, so they lopped that right off the cover and just made it Fire Emblem. Only games released after that one have any further titles in the American release, and "The Sword of Raging Fire" would eventually be translated more succinctly to "The Blazing Blade". So labeling it "Fire Emblem" would be technically correct- but specifying Blazing Blade would ALSO be correct. Both work, as they've gone on to specify that game as Blazing Blade in the time since the original release. For further specificity, this is the game featuring Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector, and serves as a prequel to The Binding Blade, featuring Roy, a game that still has no English release. I mention this only because I hate that we STILL do not have an official translation of the game Roy, famous in the US for his presence in Super Smash Bros Melee, premieres in.
The fact that I've never played advance Wars yet remember it's distinct sound back then my older bro would play it on emulator is very telling of me. I'm glad Re:Boot Camp exists.
I got 24 out of 50. I did have a couple moments where I heard a song from a game I know, then thought it was from another game. Sometimes even not having a guess when it's a song from a game I should know. Is this some type of amnesia?
I only got PM64 cuz it really couldn’t have been anything else! It was Mario, definitely, but none of the 2D games, nor 3D, nor Kart, nor & Luigi, and RPG and 2 were out already and Super I‘d recognise. xD
11:20 Here we got a bird with small but smart legs Kinda funny how she coughs and farts eggs Both of her holes have eggs coming out (that can't be healthy!)

It helps, though for the tracks that are common themes it doesn’t help in distinguishing between the GBA and SNES sound fonts lol
For the Fire Emblem Blazing Blade one, I would absolutely say just calling it Fire Emblem counts because in English, it actually just was called Fire Emblem, there was no Blazing Blade about it in the title in the localization.
Yeah, that'd be like if he got the Earthbound one wrong for not calling it Mother 2
I felt that sheer pain you experienced when you got tripped up by the Paper Mario 64 song... ^_^;
13:11 would have been insane if this one ended up saying sm64 ds instead of sunshine just to mess with people.
Is DS’s just a compressed version? I thought that there was some instrumentation changes. Then again, I also can believe it was compressed given how almost no one used the DS’s native instruments due to how bad they are.
the DS version would have mario 64 instruments, i know cuz even though it's official, it still sounds like it came out of a rom hack.
5:24 lyrical genius right here
9:05 hahaha recognizing it from fox outro in smash, I can absolutely relate
i love mario world's soundtrack, iconic ear-splitting screeches and all
13:10 you hear mario sunshine, I hear the troll level creator mocking me.
These are so fun. I’m such a sucker for these!

Metroid is the franchise name as well, and ZM is a remake of Metroid (1), so I'mma give it to him.
40/50. Did pretty good honestly, wasn’t expecting to know so many

You did pretty well

Plus, he said Kirby right when Kirby is on screen at that part of the intro, spinning in the air

Well this was a wonderful time. Glad I clicked the video, thanks for the fun!

I got 36, which is not bad! Played along with this video funnily enough!
The GameCube ones stumped me i never got to own one 😂
11:47 alpharad plus deluxe gold platinum fans know this one by heart
Can't believe there was no Mario Party music, smh.
2:07 that expression was amazing!
9:30 by the way: wii sport not sound like Alf Theme´s?
5:32 and N64, don't forget about that
Jarrod must attend for his sins by playing some more tropical freeze songs
Man, i only got like 2/3rds to half right. I've never played Bayonetta's games, xenoblade's games, f-zero, advanced wars, or fire emblem
With the challenge of trying to guess before The8BitDrummer the result was 18/50
40
Missed
F-Zero GX, DK64, LM3, Wario Land 3, Xenoblade X, Tropical Freeze, Golden Sun, F Zero X, Bayonetta 2, Smash 64
I got 24 out of 50. I did have a couple moments where I heard a song from a game I know, then thought it was from another game. Sometimes even not having a guess when it's a song from a game I should know. Is this some type of amnesia?
Can we talk about how Chronicles X never got a Switch Port and the online Fuctions of that game are not compeltely dead?
So, uh, things have changed
@kwagz3314 yeah I know.
I only got PM64 cuz it really couldn’t have been anything else! It was Mario, definitely, but none of the 2D games, nor 3D, nor Kart, nor & Luigi, and RPG and 2 were out already and Super I‘d recognise. xD
Can't blame you too much for getting Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask mixed up, but I didn't expect Paper Mario to get you that bad 😅
Tho OOT title theme......?
I can understand not getting Clocktown 1, but oot's opening...?
If you don't play enough Zelda or listen to enough Zelda OSTs, even songs as iconic as that one may fly right by you (and I would know).
@@ClaireSoelberg-op8id Fair enough.
I can, they don't sound the same AT ALL
right series, right game: 32
right series, wrong game: 3
dead wrong/didn't know: 15
13:45 VAHOOM!
So... I guess I only played TWO GAMES from his list. SMB 3 and SMB World. Just ONE song from NES, huh?
11:20 Here we got a bird with small but smart legs

It'd be awesome if he did the same thing for Sonic music too
im just glad i saw some xenoblade x in an 8bitdrummer video
can you do capcom or sega music quiz?
Training for more Torvold's Quest?
you'd think a musician would be able to differentiate ocarina of time's and majora's mask's intros
NEVER interrupt xenoblade main menu theme

for the Fire Emblem : The Blazing Blade, the western name is just "Fire Emblem", so yeah it counts

You might like Fire Emblem music. Worth A Hear
