Mine was bogged down, and I thought it was the hi/low settings and then I thought it was the oil mixture, etc. until I saw your video, I bought my backpack blower for residential use and I’ve had it at least 25 years so you could imagine how bad the carbon buildup was thank you.
Jeffrey! Thank you for the update and for trusting this fix. It’s pretty cool how the problem is mostly this and how easy it is to fix. People are always amazed and I’m just glad to share the information. Thanks again for the support and comment!
Well I have never subscribed , thumbs up, liked. But This video prompted me to do so. I was going to take this to my Stihl repair shop. I first checked my spark plug and then went to this video. I am always a bit skeptical but this cleaning of the carbon off with.the blow torch worked without a problem. It doubled my blower power and now runs fantastic. I've had my blower for about 8 years and NEVER Cleaned this or even knew it was there. Thank You Stoney Creek for the tip !
Let’s go Ken!!! Thank you so much for telling me this! You must have clean gas because I have to clean mine every few months or so, but yes, it’s so easy! Well I’m really glad it helped you fixed your problem and saved you some money! That’s always the best part! Welcome again to the channel. I do DIY stuff when it breaks but I’m mostly into gold prospecting. I hope you like it. 😎 Stoney!
Thank you! I was about to buy a new one because I had to get a new carburetor last year and did not want to put a bunch of money into this one this year. You saved me some money just before Christmas! Thanks!
That’s great Dan! Thanks for the positivity and I’m glad I saved you some of that hard earned cash! Especially during the holiday season! Merry Christmas to you and your family! Thanks again for the comment and support! Much appreciated!
Excellent tutorial! Clearly put without over saying. Thank you much! I love how helpful you guys and U tube is. Doing things myself I would never have attempted before, like in the old daze 😁😁😁
Hey Deb! I really appreciate hearing this and so glad that we as a community can help! You can do anything with the correct knowledge and guidance. There are no limitations. Thanks again! I appreciate your support and hope you have a fantastic rest of your day!
Thanks DrLaserEye1! I’m glad it works better for you. I know for me. It’s the only thing I need to do to fix my blower. It gets fairly light home use, but I find myself having to clean it every few weeks with my heavy use. You may have something else going on but either way, I’m glad I could help. Spring has sprung and I’m happy to start cleaning up the outside! Thanks again for your support.
Thanks for coming by and checking this out Steve! Yea it fixes mine every time. As for a part number, I don’t have one. I remember when I went in there they had like 3 different types depending on the model so yea if you go in or call a store that sells replacement parts, just make sure you know your model number. When I first went in there I blanked when the guy asked which I had, so I had to go back to the house and take a looksie! Thanks again Steve!!

@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser Worked like a charm ... thanks for the straightforward video with smart advice. I'll remember to give someone else a hand when he needs one. Thanks.
I wonder if this part is really needed for residential light usage. I can understand if used in the areas where there are shrubs and longer grass etc. I have cleaned mine before and replaced it back in the blower for better performance but to avoid cleaning perhaps it could be removed entirely. Is this acceptable.
Hey John! Thanks for commenting. As for an answer, I most definitely think you can run this without it. I have and it didn't change the way it works. It definitely makes it louder which could be an issue if it's right next to your ear. So yea, it's just a spark arrestor so if there is no worry of setting a fire then I don't see why having it removed is a big deal. Thanks again for the comment and support! I really appreciate it
Hey thanks Jon! Too bad about the time wasted but I’ve been there and done that as well. At least now you’re ready for the next time. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Always appreciate the support! 😎

Lol, are they getting clogged fast or are you just saying they are garbage and hinder more than do good? I have to clean mine every month or so, so I understand it gets clogged often.
Hey Logan. Thanks for the comment and sorry if this didn’t work for you. Like I said, it may be one of the problems for a bogged down blower and it’s helped many people. Hope you can get it back into action. Thanks again.
@stevedyer5902 hey thanks Steve! I really appreciate that and I don’t worry about the hate. There are always going to be trolls out there. 100% the issue we had. Pulled the spark arrestor and it was plugged solid! Ran great without the arrestor installed :-)
