Really enjoy your videos. When I served aboard the USS Carl Vinson in the mid 1980's, I had a young MM1 named Foster who was a rock climbing and mountaineer enthusiast. He submitted a 30 day leave request to me when we were in an extended shutdown period. I asked him why he needed so much time as most people did not take 30 days in one shot. He said "I am going to Mt. Everest base camp." Well, needless to say, I approved it and he came back with wonderful pictures and stories. So, 30 years later, you are travelling in Foster's footsteps.
@@douglasreeves9938 I do believe u served our country if I read that right . Thank u sir for ur service and happy holidays
I am sooooooo late!!! New Subscriber whose never left the USA... if your feeling loving and generous.. I'm game for this trip if your interested for giving it away again
Aww 100k subscribers. Baby RUclipsrs at this point. Now look at you!
That's NEPAL one example of heaven...proud to be part of this countryy😊❤❤
I just love thinking that when guys are in your golden years together you are gonna have these memories of your adventures together.
I love going back and watching this set of vlogs...for the fourth time!!! This is where I “met” you both. Thank you! That’s all I can say.
The fact that they manage to remain so positive throughout all of this is crazy impressive!!
I've noticed that Kara is more adventurous when it comes to eating food from different cultures....great video...
+kchung9209 She loves to eat ;)
Y she no fat den
Chocolate carrot cake!! Yum!!
I wonder what kind of training the porters get. I'm getting stressed just looking at him. I can barely carry my backpack up a hill
brie B since the early times when white men started to go to Nepal and india to climb the mountain tops, these nepali men also called sherpas have been used to help them carry their luggage and oxygen tanks to the top or wherever they go. These people are very strong and their bodies have been moulded to climb the mountains with heavy weight since they have to bring their necessities to their homes due to lack of any proper transportation, though now situations have changed. While going to Darjeeling, we saw the rigourous training the porters go through in training institutes specially designed for them. It is a sad situation but it is feeding them and providing for their families in such high mountainous towns and villages
they get training in the porter school in high himalayas... they train for 15 hard years before being qualified as porters
Wow same
Clementine Reads-A-Lot w
They should be Olympians.
They are Amazing endurance Athletes
I think it’s my yearly tradition to rewatch these Everest vlogs! They’re my favs!
I realized that I find Kara really refreshing because almost all female RUclipsrs seem to talk like Kim kardashian (oh my GOSH you guys) and constantly poses in front of the camera. Kara doesn’t do that and I really appreciate it! Thanks for being real!!
This is more incredible than I could've imagined. It's like... living the real life version of Uncharted 2. Just beyond words, guys.
You are such a cute couple...and so brave! Looks like you had a great trip. Looking forward to more videos of your travels. Namaste!
It has always been a dream to travel to Nepal. But because of the altitude and health issues, I cannot travel like this anymore. But I try to see the positives in life and can do this trip virtually through the two of you. Being an American woman of color, I also appreciate how respectful you both are to the beautiful people and their culture. Thank you!
aw that’s so cool that you use these videos to fulfill your traveling dreams!!
It’s so cool to be able to experience this through you. I read a book about a guy’s experience getting to the top of Everest. I had no idea this is what it would look like on the way to base camp! Thank you!
Haha, the chocolate cake! Gosh I really envisioned the hike to Everest being so very different, this was enlightening, and I could feel the love between you both as you traveled here!
I never ever thought I would WANT to go anywhere near Mt. Everest....but these VLOGS are making me want to convince my hubby we should totally do it! Just the hike to Base Camp...lol But so cool!
i've done the trek to base camp, totally worth it but these two made it look so easy!!
Kara and Nate you're both absolutely natural. Love watching your travelling adventures and keep up the fantastic recording!!!
So glad you like my 2nd favourite country. Love the mountains, the people and the country. planning my 4th trip there for 2022. My favourite country? North Wales where I live
The soundtrack is really good - I'd never heard of Edamame before (Talking through Tin cans). I'm 60 now but had lots of fabulous hikes through my life although manly in Switzerland and Austria. Thanks for letting me journey with you. Enjoy yourself while you're young.
I'm Nepalese but have never been this place. awesome ! How lovely couple ! Thanks for this video.
Thankyou so much for documenting your trek! I'm considering doing it in October as part of a group tour. I had several worries though but watching these makes me feel so much more relaxed!
I don't know why I feel so bad for the animals. I wonder if they get any love. I wanna love them! 😁
I feel the same
They work for a living just like us humans. They are saving up money for travels just like us
they donot need any training guys
They probably get plenty of love because they work so hard for their owners, also they get fed and they do get breaks so it's not like they walk that entire thing without food or water😆😂🤣
i completely agree. they carry so much up those hills and such a long journey too
I salute those porters of trekker . They are really strong and hard working people and this is how they making there Life living . Every year They wait for there tourists season and they walk with you step by step to all the way to base camp ⛺️. God bless them and sherpas.
Fantastic scenery today - - Thanks again for sharing your adventure !!
+Jim Ebanks thank YOU for watching ;)
Love love love to watch your vlogs....im Ann from Holland(64years old) and in my imaganation walk with you.....thanks for doing this
Those swinging bridges are crazy!!! What a cool experience! Much deserved cake and coffee. !! :D
+We Are Salmonella we couldn't believe how many mules were sharing the bridge with us! I'm not sure if the cake was actually amazing or if we were just incredibly hungry from hiking lol
That looks like an absolutely stunning trek. It must be so tempting to look around you instead of where you next put your foot.
Thousands of miles away from the US in a German bakery high up in the Himalayas, and you still can't avoid an American talking about politics. :p
Yeah... And damn, they are so loud.
Ha
Sounded like an Aussie or Englishman to me.
Lol
Yep as an American so true
Never seen such Joy at eating a slice of cake! Extremely well deserved I expect! Great vlog can't wait for the next one!
+Mark Evans Never enjoyed one so much! :)
+Kara and Nate You both deserved it!
+Kara and Nate - Following your journey, excellent videos! :)
Are you two just chilling out now? Can't remember what you said you was doing after your trekking! Hope you're on an exotic beach or something! 😊
+Mark Evans chilling in Kathmandu! Going back to TN in a few days so we will continue to post vlogs while we're there until mid June. Then heading to Africa :)
Wow, the views at the top are amazing. Can't imagine living there and seeing that every day.
Get a tan , bulk up, put a Portugal football shirt on , fool the world😉
z man But his voice will reveal that he isn’t Cristiano
I’ve been obsessed with anything Everest since reading Into Thin Air
I love how the porter is just chilling. Respects.

watching in 2020
It's pretty amazing to see all the destruction from the earth quake and then the resilience of the people...such a beautiful area :0) I'm so excited to watch this Everest base camp journey thru these vlogs :0) BIG HUGS FROM IDAHO :0) !!!!
I did this trek September last year and this day looked so hard! I did this whole day on a horse with my leg gashed open. Had to get stitches at namche. Those bridges were so scary on a horse! love your videos! They bring back so many memories!
Wait seriously? How did you scar up your leg?
Love the way you say Mueselii. So southern! LOL 😂 loved the finding chocolate cake on Everest and the Cappuccino that’s not Nescafé! You guys made a lot of people happy with this video, including me!
Doing a little catching up on some of your older vlogs today. These are simply amazing! Kara - I love your adventurous spirit. Nate - you were chowing down on those potatoes - they looked yummy!!! I am just amazed at all the little towns and places to stay along this hike. WHO KNEW!!! Those bridges would scare me! Great Vlog!!!
i am loving! your videos. you are def taking the fear out of travel for me. I would love to do this trip
Cappuccino looks cute , the vibe must be amazing up there
Traffic jam in mountains. Amazing.
Looks incredible! And your videos keep getting better and better! Quality, shots, everything
+Brad Watson Aww thanks Brad! :)
The best part of namche is the town is amazingly good and without any roadways to connect.
Here from Day1 video and guess who has so many videos to binge through the night? 😋👋 Who needs Netflix? Haha! I love you both so much!
Nice and lovely couple...starting to follow your videos recently. Great video cheers again.
Thank you! :)
Cake and coffee look better than I have ever seen in USA.
Especially in a bakery that is located in the Mountains of Himalaya 😍
I'm planning a trek to Everest Base Camp. I've lived at 6,000 feet in elevation for 20 years and we have peaks that are 14,000 feet in elevation. Hopefully this will help trekking to base camp. The solar panel that collects energy to the power bank to charge electronics is awesome! Thanks for sharing...
Did I just saw Mr. chow from(( the hangover))🤩 at 7:04.....just kidding!!!! respect for the people who climb these mountains everyday with these crazy huge loads on there back 🙏🙏🙏
Nice vid! I was there 2 weeks ago and makes me want to go back. That Last bridge is where the trek gets serious tho!
That cake looked incredible!
I was fortunate to have done the trek from Lukla to Ama Dablam base camp a few years ago. Your video brought back a lot of great memories. Thanks.
Great video...did you guys find an ATM?
+CampingCarJoa I'm guessing they probably exchanged some emergency USD into local rupee
+miukkium Exactly what we did until we found an ATM that worked :)
Thanks for this you guys are rocking it. So looking forward to my trek. Been to Kili so I know what to expect but your vlogs are just awesome! The porters are just fantastic.👍
Wow! Just ... WOW! Awesome video!
I have been watching all of these videos over again lol, ITS SO COOL
Hi! I am from Monjo, just before you reach Namche:)
Watching this in October 2020 as well as many of your other videos and I just wanna say that they are amazing! Love the channel and all the cool places you have been.
Looks like an amazing journey! Those poor animals though... I feel sorry for them. 😕
We were there in mid winter. It was cold but it is a lot drier in winter. Once we were above Lukla we remained above the fog layer. It was sunny and we were warm even though it reached a maximum of about zero we were in shorts and a t shirt during the day. But -25C in our tent at night though at Namche. Got colder after that.
Fantastic video. Loved the mules and the yaks.
I actually got weak in the knees while watching this from my couch when you leaned back on that bridge! LOL. :).
Maaan!!!mad props to them porters!!bless them🙏🏼
I love how kara gets so excited with coffee.
Great video! Thankyou for filming the namche hill trail it's hard to find on here.. I'm going solo next week and I'm nervous so this has helped so much thankyou to you both
I’m totally going to book a trip! Your vlogs a so good.
No you won't,, don't lie to yourself
already did…it was a blast!
Your vlogs are sensational and I really enjoy watching them. Some us who watch are foodies and would love seeing all complete menus and the presentation of them when they arrive at your seat. Then we can drool with envy. Thanks and Happy Trails🤓
Hi! Did you guys did some specific training for the hike? Or is it possible without any training (for normal people, not sporting all day, but no couch potatoes either)
Hello, am here after tiny treehouse also as am Nepali I feel so good u visit to Nepal God bless this cute couple
I love your country! :)
Kara and Nate. Quick tip, trekking poles can make a huge difference. I did not believe it until I used them.
It was wonderful to see kara's smile at the German bakery in namche
The solar panel is so cool!
Why do you need a solar panel, every lodge has electricity!
Those mules crossing the bridge ... nice
I am so jealous you guys have an opportunity to do this. This is a huge dream of mine
Is it bad that I'm most impressed with the cake!? (Looks so good!)
7:20 That guy is carrying a LPG cylinder..OMG
If don't carry it up how would you cook things on 14000 Feet ?
look carefully 2 cylinder
This is normal weight for nepalese😂
Its because of the Sherphas we can visit places like this. I am from India. And lots of love to Nepal.
Watching this in preparation for my own EBC trek :)))
Nice to see them rebuild . I was there 1 week after the 2nd earthquake.
Great videos. You really capture what its like to be there.
Those bridges are so cool! :) :)
Glad you have an amazing adventure guys.
+Lee Phm Thanks, we definitely did :)
wow your climbing up these paths, just think some of the paths like this in Nepal are used by the British army Gurkhas for selecting between 200 and 300 young men and now women for basic training before they even get to the UK to start their basic training as these people have to run up the mountains carrying baskets full of heavy rocks on their backs while the strap is on their forehead just to get through the initial selection of getting into the Gurkha regiment once selected they are then flown off to the UK to start basic training of around 34 weeks maybe longer
Thanks a lot Kara and Nate for this wonderful video this make good promoting for our #tourism business ... #thanksgiving
portership----drone job....the images of those guys *sting* my heart
i hav not been there but thank you for showing my country sides......wish u hav a more subscribed...
Looks amazing, I'm really interested in doing a trip like this also! Was the solar panel battery pack the only means of charging your batteries? Or was there charging capabilities in the places you stayed each night?
This is so cool! Your vlogs are fantastic!
By far the best adventure and video!! Keep it up!!
I must have missed it-what month did you do your trek? Also, thanks for the day by day. Lots of great info.
wow..this video blew my mind..i never knew namche was this cool..u guys rock
Kara you are such a positive and happy person! 😝☺️
These type of videos make my day. Thx guys and keep up the good work ;)
every thing was great, but the coffee completely sold me.
I'm rewatching from the beginning and just noticed that the knock off Rolex from Thailand didn't last long!
One guy with a LPG cylinder.. OMG.
And I can't even walk straight with my college bag.
I put my cell phone into my right front pocket the other day, and my body kept pulling to the right. My record bench press is 22 lbs. That's also SpongeBob's record.
@@saffronsworld1508 😂😂😂
The funniest thing is these guys get to the top of the mountain and have a smoke, seen it with my own eyes. 😅
Miss you guys!!! You're motivating my interest to climb.
bakery in the mountains specially a bigger village / tourist hotspot never dissapoints. fresh as it can get. :)
I don’t know what I was thinking it took to get to base camp! Think about all the people who get sick, if they aren’t medically removed, they have an 8 day trek DOWN ........... I will continue to enjoy this from my home!
October 31 2018... Now I want to go to base camp.. 😂
Beautiful place. I am scared of heights but would love to experience this place.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I have the same solar panel and power bank and it worked great while doing the inca trail!
HeyJenniferJones where did you buy the solar panel from? Are you able to add a link?
