I love that you ask permission first. We think they don't understand what we're saying. But they do. It's not just body language. They understand our words. The inability to speak in no way means they cannot understand. I had an interaction with an elephant during a summer I spent working in a zoo near where I lived. I was in high school and really only there to cut food and clean cages. But on occasion we'd get to interact on a limited basis. I loved to feed the elephants. They are so sweet. Smart, and actually really gentle for their size and strength. Mojo was older, and I'd always bow and address him by name before asking permission to touch him He'd look me in the eye when I'd greet him. He was such a wonderful old soul. The staff would chuckle when I'd go thru the greeting, but he loved me. He'd wait for me to come see him everyday I worked. They said it was the treats I'd carry for him, but I didn't always have them, and he didn't seem to care. We understood each other. 🥰🥰🥰
What a beautiful, intelligent, and playful animal. Especially enjoyed 12:40 where Sebastian decided "If you're gonna lean on me, I'm gonna lean on you." This is a horse that would keep YOU on your toes
Sebastian is quite a character isn't he ?! he really looks as though he was listening to you ! For sure he must have felt better after your visit . Nice video .
Nice job! I think Sebastian must feel so much better now and his body might move more fluidly. I think he will be much more comfortable with you the next time you visit. He will also be more comfortable with his surroundings too and that should make him more relaxed. He is a very handsome pony. ❤❤❤❤
Sebastian has the most beautiful eyelashes I’ve ever seen on a horse. And I love the way Sebastian keep look back at you.. you did a fantastic job on Sebastian Dr.W I bet he’s happy with the small adjustments you did on him. Can’t wait to see him next time
Sebby was so reluctant to trust you, Doc. I believe you now have a new friend, though. Those big eyes watching you and those flaring nostrils had me entranced. Thank you for working with him.
I fell in love with Sebastian and his curious personality! I think he liked the way you smelled Dr. Doug! He kept sticking his nose right into your sweater! He is a gorgeous horse!
It Is so amazing to me to see a horse that is sceptical, feel the first two adjustments, and realize how good they feel. The change in Sabastian's demeaner was so obvious today and the head resting on the Dr.s back....total trust. 💜💜💜💜
Sebastian has such personality! A very sensitive pony, I am so glad you got to get him feeling better! (Also nice that your fan club came out to support! )
Whenever you touched around his withers, he would stretch his neck and start to make an "ahhhh" face. Either he's itchy there or has a tender spot. Or it's his good touch spot lol. He's nervous, but is a lovely pony. Hopefully he'll settle in and be happy.
OMG!!! Sebastian really gave you a run for your money!!! I love how the two of you chatted through the entire process. Tfs, Dr Doug. I find your videos so interesting ❣️
I liked how he watched you closely after an adjustment when you would step away and take some deep breaths. Not sure what he was thinking, but very interested in your reaction.
What a gorgeous Welch pony. Spirited but calmed with gentle treatment. Wonderful to see and to watch him start to chill and relax. Different pony after treatment, and far less anxious. Great result. Smart, he gave you undivided attention Doc., and looked great and so much calmer.
Sebastian is fascinating, and very curious about every move you make and everything you do. He is learning you just as you are learning him. It's amazing to watch and I never cease to be amazed by the intelligence of horses and how respectful you are to them. I wish this kind of respect for animals was more widespread.
Do you follow the Friesian horse channel? They have a wonderful horse, Queen Uniek, who adopted a foal called Rising Star. But maybe it’s just a popular name?
👍👍👍👍👍 At 1:37 I was sure I was looking at a Welsh pony Arab cross. You see that a lot were I'm from. He has the Arab temperament, very alert, gentle but hyper. He also has the Arab deep neck at the withers, dish face (not all Arabs have a dish face), the short coupling of the back, the small but strong legs, the ears that are always up and forward even when they are about to bolt or jump away from you (very unpredictable) and they tend to be a ONE PERSON MOUNT. They are a lot like a hyper but loyal puppy dog in a bigger body. This fella just might be all of this. He sure looks like it to me. You won't get that calm closeness with the first meeting. nor the second, nor the third but you will always get that gentle spirited being every time you are with them. You really need to be in-tune with this type of being. One can only wish to achieve that loyal puppy dog attachment. If you do, you are truly blessed. Something that will be with you for the rest of your life. To most they are just a spirited horse. Sometimes too spirited (read: difficult).
Such a great name for this horse- “ venerable” - he really felt confident that you would help him ( resting his head was so sweet) and definitely felt better after your treatment, Doc ! Thanks for uploading!
Sebastian blinks alot after an adjustment. That must be how he processes as opposed to licking. He is quite the character...lol. Very interesting horse.
Sebastian is a very handsome boy! I'm betting that he will welcome you back on your next trip to Rising Starr! You always do such a wonderful job of making life better for all of the wonderful critters that you work with! Thanks for all you do for them!
He is such a magestic horse! I LOVE him, and how he's responded to you and his reactions to you. You're so lucky to get to know, and help such beautiful animals. 😍 🐎💜
Sebastian is absolutely gorgeous! He responds so well to your gentle touch. And it seems he keeps looking at you in appreciation. You are so patient and kind to this skittish gent. It would be so great to see his progress and trust in your care of him. 🤗
Dr Willen, Sebastian is very handsome, as always great 👍explanation about hoofs. I like your communications with animals and asking of their permission, the way you talked to him and Sebastian looking and listening to you was absolutely awesome 👏. Have a nice 👍holiday and weekend doc, we love you
I absolutely love this horse. I think he loves you also. From the moment you started talking you could see his nostrils flaring and I think he loves your sweater. He looks like he would be a great cuddler. I could hardly wait until this video came out. Thanks Dr Doug for all you do for the animals.
Oooo dr willen 🙌🏻 sparkie sebastian. Gosh you were brave..he has/had very alert eyes ! ! ! ! Well done you 😯 Heard two crunchie good cracks 👍🏻👍🏻 happier horse now 😁😁
I just love watching you do your magic. Some of us have it and some of us don't. I really do enjoy watching, maybe you can teach me something. Catch the next one😊✌
Sebastian is gorgeous, it took him a little time to get used to you and relax the more you were next to him. I can't wait to see his next visit. Great video as always !
I was riding my trusty horse Camry through the apple orchard across the street which we did all the time. This time we came head to head with a 8 to 10 point buck in the woods surrounding the orchard. Both turned and bolted. My boy made sure I was under him but damn that was the only time he bolted on me. Amazing experience though! Scary then but great memories of my first horse now.
@@AnimalCrackerDrDougWillen you have admirers while you work. Really fun. You have great communication skills and your sweet and gentle approach to each horse is so wonderful to watch and listen too.
OMG he was loving you. 😍 I'm sure animals can tell a good human. And he was taking all that in,I'm glad it seems his past owners took care of his feet maybe they just couldn't afford him anymore with how things have been going. I really hope you can get back to him with how busy you are. He had some good cracks. Thanks Dr Doug. Awesome.
It amazes me what you're able to do. I know not every equine chiropractor, and yes I know you're not just an equine chiropractor, always knows what they're doing. This is something I wish I could do, but I just don't have the strength anymore to be that physical. Now I can only point out when I see issues that need to get fixed.
What a pretty, spunky, alert and observant little horse. The way he fixed his head and eyes on Dr Doug - such a cutie.
Thank you Marie.
What a beautiful animal.
Sebastian is Sweet; so are you Dr. Doug.

Welsh mountain and cobs are one of the most beautiful horses there are.
Thanks for sharing
Sebastian is very curious about what your doing. He’s very handsome and cute. I love him. ❤❤❤❤❤
Sebastian is so handsome, attentive, and curious! He was definitely watching you, but in such a gentle way.
Sebastian is such a wonderful pony

Loved how the horse replied to the doctor 😄
😊🙏🏻
Sebastian is such a beautiful name for this wonderful horse :)
Yes I agree!‘
I love Sebastian... so beautiful... so much personality... I wish he was mine...
A cool little guy!
Sebastian was so cute when he rested his head on the Animal Crackers shoulder! I think he enjoyed his adjustments today! Great job! 🙌
I think he needed that! he was having a little rest on my back and shoulder, he had to integrate the adjustments. Thank you for being here.
Your handling of horses is amazing. Thank you.
Thanks Barbara.
Sebastian is quite a character isn't he ?! he really looks as though he was listening to you ! For sure he must have felt better after your visit . Nice video .

He looks around at you and I swear he's thinking...holy cow what was that! What a lovely, sweet boy! What a lovely sweet vet!
Thanks Suzanne!! But I‘m not a vet, I am a chiropractor.☺️🙏🏻
Sebastian certainly wasn't taciturn like most Welsh when you first meet them!! He's so intelligent looking...
Beautiful horse! He has a lot of emotion in his eyes.👍👏
Awww thank you! Sounds good!
Sebastian has such personality! A very sensitive pony, I am so glad you got to get him feeling better! (Also nice that your fan club came out to support! )
Haha, it was fun to have a live audience!
He relaxed a whole lot with the C3 adjustment. Look at him blink, and his eyes are getting softer. This adjustment is doing this horse a lot of good!
Whenever you touched around his withers, he would stretch his neck and start to make an "ahhhh" face. Either he's itchy there or has a tender spot. Or it's his good touch spot lol. He's nervous, but is a lovely pony. Hopefully he'll settle in and be happy.
He was nervous at the beginning, then he could relax a little, he’s got some tender spots yes! Thank you for your comment, I appreciate.
You have such a lovely way with all the animals you treat. So respectful. It is lovely to watch. You have a good heart ❤️
