Yup, that's exactly like mine. Oh I love mine, took a bit of getting used to the Pica Techno font, I'm told that's one of there rare ones, Elite Prime usually has the Techno...Script is a rare one too for these in my research. The way these things type the way they feel is nothing short of super magic. You could write on this thing for hours and I have, when done your hands feel fine. The only other Typewriter I would say comes close to this level of fun and ease of typing, and smooth precision, is the 1954 Olympia SM3. It's seriously right behind this thing. I have both machines, and it sometimes hard to decide which to pull out and work on for the day. I'm a writer and write all my first drafts all single spaced pages on typewriter first. Edit , the hand transfer into the computer, this makes for excellent writing. Thank you for showing this beauty 😍
found you through the Austin typewriter ink podcast that had an interview with you, Love the videos 🔥 finally took the leap and got myself a Quite-Riter.
Beautiful! I just got a series II based on your videos. Your descriptions on how to remove the case and carriage helped out greatly! I was wondering where you go for your new rubber? I would love to the the platen on mine done. The feet on mine are in seriously bad condition so I casted new ones using smooth-on mold max 30 for the mold and a shore hardness 70A rubber (about road tire hardness) for the new feet. Worked out nicely! Did not think about replacing the typewriter bumper rubber! I am going to do that tonight!
I have the 1959 version of this typewriter and I can't seem to find this ribbon with reverse grommets in them. Any seller you can recommend? Also, will universal ribbon fit?
Hi, Here in the UK I have a Olympia sm3 where the carriage stays on the left hand side and will not respond to the keys? can it be fixed please? Norman
Hello , I have a question. I have difficulties with inserting the paper in my typewriter. I can't find a real solution online. It's a hit and miss with inserting the paper, mostly miss. It's like the paper doesn't stick to the cylinder when I rotate it Thanks in advance.
So I have a couple of these, both from 1959, both with that same case design - one I scored for $5 (!) because the people running the estate sale that had it, couldn't open the case and figure out what it was or if it worked. I bought it, removed the bottom panel and got the machine out, and it's functional - but, is there any conventional wisdom to follow about not getting the case jammed again? I am reluctant to keep mine in the case for that reason.
How much do these cost nowadays because I see prices ranging from $300 to $800? I would love yo get a machine like these but dont know what a fair price is in the modern market.
I am wondering the same thing!! I have been advised to not buy from an antique dealer or the like, only from someone has demonstrated their restoration abilities. But totally upwards of $500 to 1200. It was mentioned in another video from 2014 that you could get one around $100 bucks! That’s quite a bit of inflation in a short period of time. I’d love to know where to purchase one more affordably!
@@TypewriterJustice Hmm..And what would you say about the feel of its keys, as in like a manual non portable typewriter is it too hard or you have to press the keys with a lot of force to get the page typed, or is it just like spongy or you just have to run ur fingers thru it and ur done?

1959 is on my short list since this is the same model and year Sylvia Plath wrote The Bell Jar on. If my money was right lol thank you for sharing.

I’ll bet this sells in a hot second!!
I'm waiting for the arrival of one of these from Minn. My question is, however, what background music is playing? Very nice.
I have a problem with my typewriter the back piece on the top keeps sliding. I was wondering what could be wrong.

How much is a Hermes 3000 in Hungarian layout? Works perfectly

(And, nice work as usual!)
Carl Clark - just pick the lock ;)
I need some help looking for parts for my Hermes 3000.
Where do you procure space bar rubber replacements?
I.F. Haddock - i use silicone tubing for them, readily available at most hardware stores....just cut it to fit and slip them on :)

Do you have a website for other typewriters you're selling?
Where did u procure it from and how much did it cost u?
it’s been a while, i don’t recall 🤷♂️
@@TypewriterJustice Hmm am asking this as which is better a metal body one or a plastic body one..
@@melodi22 metal, beyond question. the plastic bodied iteration of the H3k was a woefully inferior critter when compared to its predecessors
