- The Lakers are now the second No. 7 seed in NBA history to make the Conference Finals, joining the 1986-1987 Seattle SuperSonics
Led by LeBron James’ 30 points (10-14 FG), 9 rebounds, and 9 assists, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors in Game 6, 122-101. Anthony Davis added 17 points and 20 rebounds for the Lakers in the victory, while Stephen Curry led all scorers with 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Warriors. After closing out this best-of-seven series, 4-2, the Lakers will advance to the Western Conference Finals where they will face the Denver Nuggets. Game 1 will take place on Tuesday, May 16 (ESPN, 8:30 p.m. ET).
This is the first time in NBA history that there has been a No. 8 seed and a No. 7 seed in the Conference Finals

Austin Reaves does a little bit of everything on that team. He hustle for loose balls, passes the ball to the open man, plays defense and shoots the 3 ball. The Lakers has found gold.

He moves unlike ANY other player I've seen: a bit clumsy nerd jogger, but he is somehow able to get through every single defense in the NBA. Very interesting style of play.
i thought he was clumsy too, watch his college highlights. He was spazzy, but very elusive and crafty. Full control of his body.

Kinda reminds me of Paul Pierce or Ginobili. Not super athletic but has a herky-jerky style that keeps defenses on their toes. Not saying Reaves is that level, just that the way they move with the ball is similar

He’s gonna get paid so fat if he keeps trending upward and putting in the hard work in order to continue growing, improving & developing. This is barely his 2nd season & first time in the playoffs. I mean look at Jordan Poole, he had one pretty decent season last year where he averaged like 19.5 PPG that’s literally it and he got a 130 million dollar contract for only 4 years. Even though He totally got outplayed by like 8 different players on the lakers this year throughout the whole series. I don’t even think Poole averaged 10 points a game during these 2023 playoffs. I think it’s safe to assume that Poole pulled a Ben Simmons and committed a straight up robbery! Maybe Embezzlement or Grand Larceny are more accurate 4 years for 130 million definitely moves Poole into 2nd place on the all-time list for largest robberies of an organization by a player. Ben Simmons still sits comfortably in the #1 spot with his $177,000,000 contract for 5 years.

He always plays a lot harder than any other Lakers and his passion trully amazing. Thats why All Lakers even LBJ like Him. He is absolutely one of the key factors Lakers Run in the Playoff so far.
We all see it, the effort and enthusiasm. He’s a breath of fresh air. He doesn’t take it for granted. He understands how lucky he is. You don’t see him sulking and posturing. And you don’t have to worry about any on or off the court horse 💩.

If I have to describe Reaves in one word, it will be "sound". Just a sound basketball player. Absolutely high bball IQ, high confidence, high level playmaking, superb handles, can score on 3 levels, relentless worker.

For a roster that wasn't finalized until March, the Lakers are playing together like they've been together for years. And their role players play with an abandon that's contagious. As a basketball fan, they're fun to watch. Hats off to management to making the right trades, and drafting what appears to be a star in the making Austin Reaves. Go Lakers!
