i would like to see you do a video on marketing sellable nuggets. Safety is a big issue. Where to sell them, how to sell them, market value of a nugget beyond spot price, etc.

I took my brother in law panning.
I told him where to dig and explained as you stated in the video..
The area is know for flash flooding and heavy flows during winter.
I even drew on paper to help him understand.
He dug down about a foot and found few specks..
He said I was full of bull and moved to a place of his choice..
I went to the place where I told him to dig and kept my mouth shut.
At the end of the day and cleaning up, I had 16.37 grams..
My brother in law got bug bites and few grains.

Skill finding gold takes knowledge and honng with practice. 1/2 oz (16g) should get his attention 😉 good work!

I'd like to see more videos on the capture rates of various types of matting underneath expanded metal - miner's moss vs ribbed carpet vs astro turf - on -50 or -100 flour gold in particular. Lots of ground to cover there. This might not be in your wheelhouse, but thought I would share a suggestion anyway. Great videos BTW.

Thanks Jess. This topic is spot on for what I am trying to figure for my current zone. Ounces found up above on hillsides. Gold in narrow the gully close by and below. Wide slow section below that. 1 oz. nugget and 10 gramer in narrow lower section below middle section. After much digging and detecting the middle section is seemingly void of gold. Lowest piece in upper section of gully was 17 grams and somewhat flat...which is why I think in got there from hillsides above..it's shape. So far my conclusion is that the old timers worked the hillsides of the middle section, pulling material down, working with water from a nearby spring but missed some bigger pieces maybe due to classification. Next flood pushed the chunks down gully into shallow layer. Not on bedrock. So lower gold actually did not come from hillsides way above as I originally thought. If you have anything to add that could help that would be awesome. Thanks again

Evaluate that mid section (void of gold) is there any indication of the flow changing path (bend) over time? If yes then where would the old inside be?

I live in placer Co. California where there were an abundance of fires and Hava been out running the gullies and small tributaries finding some nuggets and pickers if you can add anything it would be great fully appreciated .thanks for getting back into something I loved 25 years ago !!!

Unless water falls base is polished clean. Then Gold's been blasted down stream. Maybe even pulverized to flour gold.

@@ProspectorJess any idea why there’s not much gold in the cascades? You’d think volcanos would be producing massive amounts of gold

Thank you so much for all your informative videos! I go through each one of them and learned a lot. A little background, where I’m from ,the Nile river flows through the country from south to north into Egypt. However I do have a question, how can one get gold out of the river where a dam was built, what kind of vacuum can be used to achieve this? Thank you!

Scuba - hooka air supply with underwater dredge system. But, the bends (nitrogen narcosis)and water currents become real safety issues.

I have been thinking recently about how nuggets form to begin with. The clues to consider are that they only seem to formed in water, and that they form one at a time, rather than in clusters. (Oh, wouldn’t a cluster of nuggets be glorious to find?) I read a paper last week about the strength of oxygen bubbles in water, and I am wondering if they’re somehow involved in the nugget-forming process, as tiny gold particles collect behind obstacles that create the turbulence that forms air bubbles. I’m curious to hear your thoughts about this.

I'm a few weeks into this sickness 😆 but I have been finding flour under my falls so if I go just above it then it's more course or flakes???

Hey Jess, do you have seen the Dutch rivers? Iam wondering what you think about those dams that avoid beach erosion. With flood those dams are below the surface and in summer time above. But here in Holland it is only verry small plasser gold no nuggets. Check for rivers like ijsel or Waal is all water from the German Rhine and flows true Holland in those rivers. Should we digg to the clay or just in the sand on the beach.
