This has been one of my favorite songs EVER!! Thanks to GEORGE!!!
For me, the 70s were wonderful too - I was a 12-year-old girl from Poland and I liked this hit and Georg ...Thanks!
I have been wheelchair-bound for 4 and 1/2 years and used Rock Your Baby to learn how to walk with my rollator!! Thank you george!
I can't believe 45 years have gone by since that song came out. I remember listening to it on the radio like it was yesterday.
Me to good memory's i'm a benz freak, the family and i was in The summer from 74 on holiday in spain playa de aro with a beautyful Mercedes-Benz w115 serie year of build 71 and this beautyful music on The radio also the hues corporation rock the boat and many more good songs gosh where is the time?!.
It's great to see George doing well, happily married, grilling, enjoying the life he created. The song is so smooth and he sang it so well. Peace to Aruba and George's family. 🎙💙
One of the TRUE Gentlemen and Best Representatives of R&B EVER! We LOVE LOVE YOU GEORGE! From the USA!
45 years and he is still eating off of that one AWESOME, GREAT song!!!
I learned to swim at 21 on the beaches in Chicago blasting 5his song on my stereo. The whole beach was dancing to it. Greatest dance and disco record ever.
It was magic back in '74, and still sounds amazing today! Love the song, and the story! Thanks for the post!
I remember how this song grabbed me when it came out in 1974. It is still a fantastic song. George has such a fantastic soulful voice, then there is that tight groove of very talented musicians behind him. Just fantastic, makes you want to move. It also makes me miss the 1970’s. Such a great era for music of all kinds.
Sometimes when I listen to songs like this one and others, I get a major flashback to how those times were, like if I opened my eyes I would be back there in the 1970’s living the care free life I knew back then. It was all so long ago now.
Thanks George, for giving the world such joy with your performance of this song❤ godbless from Australia 😊😊
This song sold about $100 and went #1 in 82 countries. So even, if George is only getting 20c or 30c on dollar, he’s eating good off that one monster hit.
Love this song when it first came out in 74’ and still love it today..talk about a classic!
I think they used to get around 11cents on the dollar.
Love it!!!🔥💖🎶
I love this song and have since I first heard it when it first came out. I was 11. The best part of this story is that George was able to find lasting love as a result of having recorded this lovely song, and is obviously in a very good place in life. It is good to know he is happy. He looks fantastic, as well.
Two amazing things I learnt watching this video - His wife is Dutch and the song was written by the creatives in KC and the Sunshine band. Now that makes perfect sense because I suddenly heard how much this song sounds like "Keep it coming love" - Two great songs anyway.
This man is a Classic sensation. 100,000,000 records!!❤️
I just love this song. I was about six years old when it came out. Love to you and your family and keep rocking your baby.
❤️✌️🇺🇸
I love when I'm with my friends listening to a song and I turn to them and explain how and why this song was made. That's because of this incredible channel, thank you.
PS that Dancing In the Moonlight song story blew my flipping mind!
George isn't a ONE hit wonder. His "I Get Lifted" was a BEAST in Detroit & the Midwest when it came out We also liked "I Can't Leave You Alone". And if my song sold that much, I'd probably have my name on my hat, shirt, car, everything I own.
If you say so.
50 cent how to rob was sampled from that song
*Love This Man*
*All he has to do is get up walk to the mail box*
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿✊🏿
It's crazy how all day at work I've been thinking about the Horace Andy version...i come home & browse through RUclips then I find this. What a beautiful day it's been ❤️💛💚🦁🇯🇲👆🏾💥🇪🇹🙏🏾🔥
GEORGE MCRAE LIVES!!!! 👏🏿👏🏿❤❤🎙🎙🎶🎶
One of the coolest song ever created period!
Fabulous.
I had just turned 8 when Rock Your Baby was released. What a wonderful story behind one of my favorites.
I’ve always liked Jorge Mccrae and his head songs. Never knew that he was an original member of KC and the sunshine band that was interesting to find out. Glad to find out that he’s now in a warm place and enjoying his life
Such a lovely life. I love this story.
Very nice video⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is such a lovely story⭐⭐⭐⭐ you and your wife look so beautiful together
Very Cool, living the Dream.
At #1 when I was born.
GOD BLESS HIM GOD WILL GIVE HIM MORE AND MORE YEARS OF LIKE IM GLAD HES STILL ALIVE
Mei 2024, Rock your baby is 50 jaar jong!
This was nr 1 the day i was born..👶👶
GOSTO MUITO DESSA ÉPOCA.
MÚSICA MUITO BOA.
I love and adore him
Not mentioned in the video : He was about to return to college to study law enforcement, when Richard Finch and Harry Wayne Casey of KC and the Sunshine Band invited him to sing the lyrics for a song that they had recorded for the band, but could not reach the high notes that were required for the song. The original intention was that Gwen McCrae, his wife, should record it, but she was late for the session and George recorded alone. It suited his high-pitched voice to the extent that the song.
So he shot his wife and married another fat bird?
@@Ndlanding They got divorced.
@@ylgorke2700 Was that before or after he shot her?
@@Ndlanding This is a mistake with another George McCrae.....?

At least he's humble about it...
He's wearing a hat with his own name on it...
Love the song and boy do those steaks look good.
Love this track in Carlito’s Way.
Remember when we were all that skinny?
Remembering my skinny Amsterdam dancing nights..1975..
What a time!!
Wooooooo George this song is my life i was in school at time.
I Will like ask u a question u never being in the Dominican republic at the Caribbean Island.

Sou muito fã dele...
Show, show, show!!!
T.Mz🔥🙏👍
Brasil!!!
The only thing I want to know is whatever happened to that giant Golden Eagle on his chest at 4:40
It found out it was only "plated".... so it flew away in shame!!
Yall didn't do a break down on I Get Lifted ??????? I get Lifted is the Real shit....Respect to this channel i love it
my first single....
That booty shaking bass groove! 💜
GROOVY! ❤️
Right On !
You’re right, it did start disco or at least catapulted disco into the mainstream.
Who noticed he's wearing a George Michael cap? 👏👏👏Respect!
Hahaha, sorry love, but he’s wearing a George McCrae hat, his own name.
First time I heard 'Rock Your Baby' on the radio I bought the 45 ( I was 21) and still have it today. Of course it's scratchy and hisses but I can always go to You-Tube.
where can i buy that hat
Forget the song. Give me some of that Caribbean BBQ!
Jimmy Droid woman bbq in your arms rock the grill baby
It makes Sense that he was a former member of KC & The Sunshine Band,it sounds like something they would have did back in the day
I DID"NT KNOW that George was once part of KC and the Sunshine BAND
Is Yvonne his SECOND WIFE , what happened to his FIRST wife GWEN ?
How old is he now ? Does anyone know ?
That one of the dreams I wanted a hit song in the seventies and eighties with all rights.
💥💥👍👍👍
He hasn't aged at all
I guess the big money went to KC and Rick Finch as that is I guess who had the publishing. George McCrae did well in that he can forevermore go on 70's revival tours with other acts recreating their hits.
They recruited George to sing the song. Everyone treated fairly.
Yes lots of people have to be paid out of a song, the writer, the musicians/band, the manager and publicist etc.. 20 to 30 cents on every dollar still makes him mega rich.
Yes It has that KC & sunshine band sound
KC often said his music was not disco but r&b/ funk.
Ongeveer vanaf 24.30: www.npo3.nl/disco/07-02-2015/VPWON_1238293
oma is from limburg.
I've got this song on 45rpm record and also on cd how come the 45 record sounds way better than the cd the background beat has more beat
This song did not start the disco movement
It helped it a lot though.
so his wife is dutch? cause i heard his mother in law speak dutch with a dutch brabant ish accent
nice!
chorei.....
Why he has to wear a hat with his name on is beyond me. But great song, classic.
Great memories of a fantastic musical era. Modern tracks s*ck.
I Agree !
Not to be shady but, Rock Your baby was a bit hit, not because of George McCrea, but because it just had such a groovy beat. Even I probably could have sung it. :)
*McCrae*
hater
I always found it sounds a bit like a Barry White track.
The story behind the song? Not really.
The lady from the FA commercial. When they filmed she dived into the water and the bikini-top came off. They still put it on television. Wonderful time. This is a variant as i can't find the original ruclips.net/video/xZfum30RWBI/видео.html
I always thought it was Mama instead of woman, take me in your arms.
Oi
How about his wife's hit a year later.Rockin Chair.
why George? why'd you have to get with a bunny? 🤦🏾♂️
She is beautiful!!!
1 song... does not make you great. All this man is doing is living a memory. But trying to say that his song started the disco scene is a Balled faced LIE and that must be corrected now! And before anyone says about being jealous of his "wealth" heh I Know I got more money than he has now. I live in one of the most expensive places in the US and enjoy the weather and the good life. I also have a good wife as well.
He's living in Aruba because he can stretch his money that he gets from his royalties.
Kind of sad, really but he should have kept things true instead of flapping his lips about his one hit wonder, trying to act like he is famous, well he is not and HE did not start off the disco scene.
What do you do for a living, my friend?
He had several hits WAKE UP!! Learn before you speak!!
George tells alot of lies. Rock your baby has sold alot but only 11million. Lmao. Mr McCrae should stop lying
Read his net worth and learn something!!
@@joyceanderson8648 Read how much that record actually sold and learn to stop telling people to go learn something that is not factual. Okay? Thank you
What a pile of crap! George, open your steakhouse now!
