      Thanks Robert. I've shot quite a few different loads out of my .44's and while the heavier bullets shoot great, the 225's shoot just as good and we shoot them out of my kid's little rifle. So, I buy boxes of one load to simplify things. That and I've shot a lot of deer with them and haven't had any complaints. Thanks for the recommendations. On cold days I will sometimes wear it inside but only when the weather sucks or it’s bitter cold. I’d rather have it outside where it’s more readily available and I’m not loosing vital body heat by opening up my jacket when a deer is coming in and getting cold shakes. We’ve also got pretty skittish deer by this time in the season so I don’t want any unnecessary movement or noise. That’s the reason I keep it out 95% of the time.

    Awesome video! I am a huge Ruger fan and a handgun hunter, as well. Not to be “that guy,” but I noticed at the end of the video that your support hand was forward of the cylinder when you fired. You were wearing gloves, but just please be careful doing that! There is a huge amount of pressure leaving the cylinder at the forcing cone and there are videos of what can happen if your hand is in the wrong position. Obviously you’re a skilled shooter but just thought I’d point it out in case you didn’t realize the danger! Stay safe and happy hunting!

    • @FullQuiverOutdoors
      @FullQuiverOutdoors  3 года назад

      Thanks. Yeah, I realize that. I would only do that with gloves on and supporting the frame in the right spot. We were in a awkward position in that treestand and didn’t have a rest high enough.

    Gabe...nice job with the video. Glad you were successful. I will be hunting the alternative method season here in Missouri next week with a 44 mag Super Blackhawk with 7.5 inch barrel that came from my Dad. He got it from his uncle after he passed. It was made in 1976.
    Question---I saw that you dropped the hammer on an empty chamber. I read up on the earlier problems with this model...but I thought it was corrected with the 'NEW MODEL" by installing a transfer bar. Is this not correct...or are you just being extra careful?

      I’ve got Leupolds on all my hunting handguns. I prefer the actual pistol scopes with the long relief. I like the 2x scope on the .44 because it’s lightweight and all I need to take shots out to 100yds or slightly more. I have a 2-4x on my Contender and it’s fine on that bigger gun but it is heavier.
