Laura Branigan was really well respected within the music community. Her song 'Gloria' was massive, and she had a few more hits in the 80's as well as songs on the soundtracks for Miami Vice, Ghostbusters, and Flashdance. She also loved acting and went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, one of the oldest drama private schools in the world, while supporting herself as a waitress. She died in 2004 at 52 from a brain aneurysm that she didn't know about, only complaining of severe headaches in the weeks before.

Laura Branigan rose to fame in the early 80's w/ her dance pop hits like 'Gloria' ... 'Solitaire'... It was her 3rd album 'Self control' in 1984 that gave her major star status in the 80's w/ hits like - 'The lucky one' ... 'Ti amo'... 🔥
She scored some more hit singles - 'Spanish Eddie' ... 'Power of love'... 'Forever young'... but her appeal dissipated by the late 80's/ early 90's.
Unlike most of her single counterparts in the 80's, Laura Branigan was happily married when she was as aspiring singer and welcomed her children during her career... In the 90's, her husband was diagnosed w/ cancer and she quit her career to take care of him. Sadly, he passed away in 1996 and Branigan took time off from performing and recording.
In 2002, Laura Branigan began performing live again, hoping for a comeback... Sadly, Laura Branigan passed away in 2004 from a brain aneurysm at age 52 (R.I.P.)

I appreciate you listening to this song. It is part female empowerment of choice but also her having to become something she isn't normally and pleasantly yet not for her. As she loses her self control, hand in hand with confidence. She may enjoy her choices, but maybe regrets them too. It is a very complex song for us women.
Anyway, I find music sometimes now from TV. Years ago I watched the Walking Dead and loved a song so much because it was different- Weeds or Wildflowers by Parsonfields. It is simple easy music but I loved it none the less.
I always search and find music I love and interests me, I'm a Motorhead to ABBA, a Erasure to Dvorak kinda gal.

One of the great singles of the 80’s. There was a male singer that had this song on the charts in Europe simultaneously. She died at an early age from natural causes. No kids. Her other songs and video were not nearly as sexually charged as this one. That scene with all the people crawling around in masks, was probably meant to artistically simulate an orgy. For clarification, the original song was written by two Italian authors and sung by Raf, an Italian singer. This is a cover

I have to say I’ve never seen the video for this song. CREEPY. Definitely Eyes Wide Shut kind of vibes… one wonders if the people behind the ‘industry’ made her do this video like this.
The song is great though. The 808 drums, the massive guitar sounds, the synth bells… very well crafted. Like you said, an absolute banger. Wish I could get the video out of my mind now lol.

Giggles. I know! Though it was to be honest pretty intense then.
