Great topic! Plant based for a while. I’ve had some falls but it seems they were sprains. My mom sprinkled nasty bone meal from the health food store on my food as a child. 😂 Maybe it is genetic. Dr. has not checked me for this bone loss yet.

I've been on a PBWF diet for about 10 years now. I feel so good eating this way that I will never return to the SAD diet. (Standard American Diet) There is one issue I'm still dealing with it's sugar cravings. The only time I don't want something sweet after a meal is when I eat beans. I seemed to be totally satiated. I've try to finish a meal with fruit but too many pieces of fruit contributes to weight gain. Suggestions?

Just how many pieces of fruit could you eat after a meal? A medium apple or pear is about 80 calories, and I doubt you could eat more than one after a meal.

Sugar issues were my problems too but I found out I had a lot of candida and after getting ride of candida I have no more sugar cravings- I cut out all high fructose fruits and veggies like carrots and bananas , pineapples, beets , etc and now I have my energy back

How does Tai Chi qualify as weight bearing exercise to improve bone health? I see mixed opinions.

You cannot treat what you do not measure. Bone quality is the measurement of bone ability to resist fracture. You don't even mention it. You allude to DEXA bone density scans. But 85% of bone quality has nothing to do with bone density. Incorrectly interpreted DEXA is misleading and therefore dangerous. Indeed, in many cases, very dense bones are more subject to fracture than less dense ones. Ultrasound, TBS and CT are technologies that more closely correlate with bone quality and are available with some effort. They do not have to be done often - every 6 to 12 months. You should encourage the their use rather than discourage them. You need to demonstrate and explain them up front. Your assurance of bone improvement through lifestyle changes without testing is absolutely wrong and should be avoided. The only way to verify bone quality improvement and nutrient absorption is to test. The 24 hour urine calcium test is an example.

Agree...will have to fly to Ecolight scan, but I will use my airline points and do so. I'm done with DEXA - all it does is trigger doctors to pressure me to drugs with blackbox warnings that I will Not take. Why bother and why bill my insurance? have you seen new warnings on Prolia for chronically ill?
