I used one years ago for two years, a 6. We used to compress air in a metal bottle to use to start up each day. Saves that running with a rope. I loved it, a good reliable machine I used to crush gold ore.
Loved the video. I have a 4YHR here in Australia that I plan to have restored, the bottom end and and main bearings are missing but hopefully we can find some or have them made. Would love to see any other vision you have of it running Lawrence Australia
@@lawrencemason2003 That's a shame, I've just recently got a 5ME going for one of my customers. It hadn't been run for around 50+ years but fortunately it was all still there and in good order apart from a badly pitted intake valve.

I love it. Last week I saw one engine equal here in Brazil. This engine has been running since it was purchased over 70 years ago.

You should still put a load on it, even if it's a Baker fan. It's not good for a diesel to run them for long periods without a load.
