Why is ili one-way, not two-way? December 16, 2017 23:50 For the time being, ili is focused on you, the traveler. ili's one-way translation is optimized for quick and efficient communication to help get you to where you want to go, tell what you want to do. Here's a short video from CEO Takuro Yoshida explaining ili's one-way functionality and why it was preferred over two-ways. support.iamili.com/hc/en-us/articles/115007120148-Why-is-ili-one-way-not-two-way-
I can see that overall, the device translated quite well. However, you have to know that language is dynamic and given how advanced technology is, there would still be some mistakes. For example, at 0:49 and 5:47 when she said "thank you" and the device translated it as "arigatou" which is not wrong literally but considered impolite to use when talking to strangers. "Arigatou" is an informal thank you while the formal one (and which should be translated into) is "arigatou gozaimasu". So you see, these kind of issues can't be detected by technology. But it could also be due to the tone she's using. I noticed that she said thank you in a bright tone which made the device translated it to the informal thank you in a bright tone too. I personally would love to learn the languages myself, to me that'd be more meaningful. It "connects" better too. I mean, after all we're humans communicating with humans. It's fine to use the device when it's important and you wouldn't want to say something wrong and made someone uncomfortable. I understand that it's impossible to learn all the languages of the countries you're visiting but I don't mean, master the language (become fluent at it). It's sufficient just by learning basic phrases. I mean, the effort is what counts.
Same. I can hear some lines of it. Not really clear, though. "Jangan lupa ...." "... yang mana?" "... satu ... dua ...." (edited) After further listening to it, I can hear more. "... dua ratus gram."
Watching a video about a translator with a Google translator "In this vídeo I Will be exploring a sex toy with Billy a wifi free infant translator" Wut?????
Can it translate Japanese to English? If you're only using that to translate then they will understand what you're saying but what if you don't understand Japanese.
BUT what if the person CANT understand their answer? Like Ikura Desuka, but if I don't know numbers in Japanese whatever they respond I won't understand either way.

Haha..fuck you
yeah this whole thing seems to be a sponsored ad, i've been getting ads for this translator with clips from this video.
i guess they only showed the times where the thing worked correctly. who knows, maybe it failed like 80% of the time and we only get to see some of the 20%

This is the reason why I really want to go to Japan! I love the people and their culture. Yoku Yatta! ❤
im going to use this video to convince my mom to have a trip to Japan
She is SOOO NICEEE
Haha we definitely need to have a man's voice for guys who want to use this! AND would you be able to do a video teaching us most useful Japanese travel phrases? Learning the language is part of the fun of travelling abroad!
That's a great video suggestion :D
internationally ME where can i get this ? Can i rent it or buy it ?
You can get the cancer by the counterfeilt commodity of food of eating in china where the people were very cunning and dishonest using some tricky bribery manner to cheat the people.
I am a guy and I would prefer the female voice. It comes across more neutral and friendly, imo.
but they reply in japanese... xD can it not record their answer & change it to english?
Your profile picture..... HI IM NATSU
lmao
They decided not to do two way due to the fact that most people wouldn't know what to do with it
That's the MAIN problem of that thing, I remember traveling to China and asking questions and everyone understood and replied but I just stood there and was like what the hell did they just say ? Eventually took a piece of paper out and they would draw or write numbers on it...
Why not just told them to reply back to the ili n well you can get the translation. Heh 😂
the translator voice is so cute
0:01 "please go faster"
Man : Pulls out a katana
Some of the people she "spoke" to actually understood English.
Actually, I heard from a Japanese youtuber that they're taught English very well in their schools. Except, they don't know how to speak it. The youtuber said the teachers they have to teach English can only teach them English but they not teach them how to speak English. The youtuber said that's a pretty bothering problem they have in their education system although it's changing at some places slowly. Atleast that's what I heard
Japan is a so clean and beautiful country

its his job, and its not as heavy as it looks
also, if you tip in japan, your money is not only being refused by 99.9% of people, most would also see you as unfriendly because being tipped hurts their pride
@@dandekku oh i never know about that coz its different at my country Anyways thanks for telling me my friend

Beautiful and useful video which can inspire to visit Japan. How cheerful she is ! Japanese people are very very humble, polite and cooperative. A dress like kimono is very nice.Really the one who can visit Japan is lucky. There are so many places of interest in great Japan. Such videos are joyful but one humble suggestion : Just speak slowly so others can clearly understand. Congratulations for such a sweet video !
damn the guys here are hot especially the rikshaw guy
I've seen this device! A Japanese tourist here in Honolulu came up to me and asked for directions using this lil doo dad. Very cute! I've been using google translate for subjects I don't know how to discuss with Japanese tourists and it's pretty good too.
Why is ili one-way, not two-way?
December 16, 2017 23:50
For the time being, ili is focused on you, the traveler. ili's one-way translation is optimized for quick and efficient communication to help get you to where you want to go, tell what you want to do.
Here's a short video from CEO Takuro Yoshida explaining ili's one-way functionality and why it was preferred over two-ways.

You: Do You Know Where The Restroom is
Translator: Do You Know Where The Kitchen Is So I Can Take A Sh*t
I only know Japanese word "Kawaii" 😂
Rohit Eligeti you should also know this one: 私わひどい下痢です。 It means how are you doing. It's pronounced watashiwa hidoigerisedu
I will only say, don't rely on MiskaterHD's advice

Same. I can hear some lines of it. Not really clear, though.

"... yang mana?"
"... satu ... dua ...."

After further listening to it, I can hear more.
"... dua ratus gram."

Nerfed Bee -TNB No it's not malay, they used "Jangan" with A pronounce not E pronounce, their accents also not malay.

Thank you😍
I'm Japanese😊
Can it translate Japanese to English?
If you're only using that to translate then they will understand what you're saying but what if you don't understand Japanese.
Jack D I think yes
Probably into text, but i dont see it.. i see them trying to respond in english
Mind blow bro...😁😁😁
I'm going to Japan next year and your chanel helps me to plan it. Thank you so much!
Google translate : *laughs in bad translation*
Everyone is so nice 😊
"Sugoi doraemon"😂😂😂 im so dead
BUT what if the person CANT understand their answer? Like Ikura Desuka, but if I don't know numbers in Japanese whatever they respond I won't understand either way.
Zazzikipcia
Bring a notepad n ask them to write the numbers.
If she was at a shop, they would defintely have paper n pen, or the most common way, they use a calculator or even a smartphone.
You could learn most practical Japanese numbers
Japanese shops like to use a calculator and show you the amount you need to pay.
