Some instruction say you need to remove the battery cables for 10-15 minutes after to reset the computer in the car. Is that necessary? Just want to make sure because I am going to change mine in a couple days when the new MAF arrives from Amazon .
I believe you’re suppose to clean out the MAF completely before to replace the sensor and I also believe it being the original parts has something to do with it.
+The Outsiders Podcast Whether you are to reprogram the mass airflow sensor or not after replacing, it depends on the model of your car. Most cars might require for the ECM reprogramming once the mass airflow sensor has been changed.

2019 Versa SV and there's 2 options for purchase a 5 pin and 4 pin. Check your original before purchasing I ordered the less expensive 5 pin and it didn't fit.
It's just a random thing that starts to malfunction. It'll trigger a check engine light when you need a new one. That's how you know when to replace it.
I have a 2015 Nissan Versa I NEED to REPLACE the "Mass Air Flow Sensor" on, but there is NO DECENT VIDEO (here or otherwise!) that shows how to DISCONNECT THE WIRING FROM THE DEVICE! THE WIRING ON MINE IS PERMANENTLY "STUCK TO IT"!
My mass air flow sensor on my 2012 Nissan Versa 1.8 Hatchback has gone bad a number of times. Ive never replaced it myself. Is this a similar set up to what I might be looking at for my own car? Not sure if the hatbacks are just physically or internally different if that makes sense. Also, if it is the same set up, thank you for a very straightforward and quick video to fixing this problem!
I would try cleaning it first, $5 CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner from Amazon---did this last year, doing it again now. Will keep doing it until it stops working, THEN I'll buy a new sensor. How-to vid here: ruclips.net/video/E-3SIcd7WuA/видео.html

Just paid 350 to get my sensor fixed 3 days ago. Today the check engine light is back on!! Took it to auto zone and it's the same damn MAF sensor =(
Changed it myself. Same thing happening to Me. Did you happen to change it again¿
I believe you’re suppose to clean out the MAF completely before to replace the sensor and I also believe it being the original parts has something to do with it.
Great video! Does it have to be programmed after being replaced?

Normallly no! Just reset the ECU with the scanner to clear the check engine light!
Would this be the same for a Nissan Note Visia? I have a 1.6 Petrol Visia which may need this replacing.

I have a question. What will be some of the reasons to replace the air flow sensor?

A P0300 engine code could be a probable reason.
