Thank you for the information. I am a US citizen with OCI & PAN card. I went to India on October 19,2022. and stayed until May 09, 2023. Applied for Aadhaar card on April 19, 2023. My application was accepted, fingerprinting was done, and was told that I would get my Aadhaar card in couple of weeks to my local address in Hyderabad. To my surprise my Aadhaar card was rejected. I had to come back to US. I made several requests to UIDAI office in Hyderabad. After going back and forth, final response dated May 14, 2024, was that “ As per the UIDAI norms, all adults enrollment packets are being forwarded to the state authorities for verification. Your Aadhaar enrollment has been rejected by state authorities due to which Aadhaar cannot be generated.” And they sent a link for me to re-enroll with supporting documentation. Question is, now I am back in US, do I have to go back and stay in India for 182 days again and apply for Aadhaar card. please help me how I can get Aadhaar card. Thank you
you have to live 182 days before applying for aadhar and then it takes another 3-4 months to get an aadhar card means total of 9-10 months before any jobs etc can be applied. So it means a person has to sit at home doing nothing for 10 months and then apply for jobs which again take 6 months. So why would a NRI like to come back to India. I have gone through this in last 2 years and then decided not to come back

I am having an ADHAR when I was in India, but now, I am an NRI. CAN I JUST CHANGE THE ADDRESS? I cannot stay in India for 182 days as required. So what can I do?
As an NRI (Non-Resident Indian), you can update your address on your Aadhaar card, but you'll need to follow the prescribed procedure. Since you can't stay in India for 182 days, you can try the following options: 1. Request a family member or friend: Authorize someone in India to submit the address update application on your behalf. They'll need to provide the necessary documents and biometric authentication. 2. Visit the Indian embassy or consulate: If you have access to an Indian embassy or consulate in your current country of residence, you can reach out to them for guidance on updating your Aadhaar address. They might have specific procedures or forms for NRIs. 3. Use the Aadhaar online portal: You can try updating your address online through the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) website. You'll need to log in with your Aadhaar number and follow the prompts. However, this option might require you to provide an Indian address, which could be challenging. 4. Contact UIDAI helpdesk: Reach out to the UIDAI helpdesk directly and explain your situation. They might offer alternative solutions or provide guidance on the next steps. Before attempting any of these options, ensure you have the necessary documents, such as: - A copy of your Aadhaar card - Proof of your new address (outside India) - A valid passport or other government-issued ID - Any additional documents required by the specific method you choose Keep in mind that Aadhaar rules and procedures can change, so it's essential to verify the information and requirements before proceeding.

NRIs generally wouldn't even have an address in India, or mobile number. Aadhaar is not meant for NRIs!
Since you can't stay in India for 182 days, you can try the following options:
Before attempting any of these options, ensure you have the necessary documents, such as:
- A copy of your Aadhaar card
- Proof of your new address (outside India)
- A valid passport or other government-issued ID
- Any additional documents required by the specific method you choose
Keep in mind that Aadhaar rules and procedures can change, so it's essential to verify the information and requirements before proceeding.
Thanks
