    I wish you had clarified upfront that as an NRI there is no need for the Aadhaar card if you are just wanting your PAN card to be operative. You just need to submit proof that you are an NRI.
    After making that point, you could have elaborated on what other reason could be there for an NRI to get an Aadhaar card.

    1:32 NO. You are not called NRI if you are a citizen of other country and you are of Indian origion. You are called POI.

    For aadhar card (asNRI) you need an address proof and for address proof you need bills etc ( like electricity etc.) and for bills you need bank account and for bank account you need aadhar - so it becomes a vicious circle of catch 22. How to show address proof under my name although I live with my family for 182 days in India. I do not have any address proof as I am NRI.

    Sir, i am OCI card holder and also holding aadhar card. i had generated e pan through income tax portal by providing aadhar details and my pan is showing that i am Indian citizen. after i came to know that i have to use 49AA form as a oci card holder. my query is can i use the pan card or is it possible to change to 49AA?

      The PAN you generated with Aadhaar might be valid, but for OCI cardholders, form 49AA is recommended. You can likely use the existing PAN, but consider applying with 49AA for clarity.

    Thank you for the information. I am a US citizen with OCI & PAN card. I went to India on October 19,2022. and stayed until May 09, 2023. Applied for Aadhaar card on April 19, 2023. My application was accepted, fingerprinting was done, and was told that I would get my Aadhaar card in couple of weeks to my local address in Hyderabad. To my surprise my Aadhaar card was rejected. I had to come back to US. I made several requests to UIDAI office in Hyderabad. After going back and forth, final response dated May 14, 2024, was that “ As per the UIDAI norms, all adults enrollment packets are being forwarded to the state authorities for verification. Your Aadhaar enrollment has been rejected by state authorities due to which Aadhaar cannot be generated.” And they sent a link for me to re-enroll with supporting documentation.
    Question is, now I am back in US, do I have to go back and stay in India for 182 days again and apply for Aadhaar card. please help me how I can get Aadhaar card. Thank you

    • @AKTAssociatesOfficial

  • @khannasaheb
    @khannasaheb 19 дней назад

    you have to live 182 days before applying for aadhar and then it takes another 3-4 months to get an aadhar card means total of 9-10 months before any jobs etc can be applied. So it means a person has to sit at home doing nothing for 10 months and then apply for jobs which again take 6 months. So why would a NRI like to come back to India. I have gone through this in last 2 years and then decided not to come back

    Hello sir, i'm getting conflicting information from different sources, Can you please tell me if the 182 days rule still apply for NRIs??? Here i'm quoting from Aadhar website for NRI enrollment process. Would appreciate any input. Thank you
    "Type of documents presented [valid Indian passport is mandatory as Proof of Identity (PoI)]
    Residential Status ( Resided in India for at least 182 days is not applicable for NRI)
    In case the NRI requires an address other than that mentioned in passport, he has option to submit any valid proof of address document available to resident Indian".
    "Yes. An NRI (whether minor or adult) with a valid Indian Passport can apply for Aadhaar from any Aadhaar Enrolment Centre. In case of NRIs the residential condition of 182 days is not mandatory."

    • @AKTAssociatesOfficial
      @AKTAssociatesOfficial  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hello! The 182-day residency rule does not apply to NRIs when applying for an Aadhaar card. As per the Aadhaar website, NRIs with a valid Indian passport can apply for Aadhaar without fulfilling the 182-day requirement. The residential status condition mentioned is specific to Aadhaar enrollment and not related to tax residency or other legal matters. Hope this clears up the confusion!

      The government has various mechanisms to track whether an NRI OR OCI Holder has stayed in India for more than 182 days in a year. Here are the main ways this could be monitored:
      Immigration Records
      Address Reporting
      Banking and Financial Records
      Tax Filings
      Utility and Property Records
      Mobile/Internet Usage

    • @AKTAssociatesOfficial
      @AKTAssociatesOfficial  6 месяцев назад

      As an NRI (Non-Resident Indian), you can update your address on your Aadhaar card, but you'll need to follow the prescribed procedure. Since you can't stay in India for 182 days, you can try the following options:
      1. Request a family member or friend: Authorize someone in India to submit the address update application on your behalf. They'll need to provide the necessary documents and biometric authentication.
      2. Visit the Indian embassy or consulate: If you have access to an Indian embassy or consulate in your current country of residence, you can reach out to them for guidance on updating your Aadhaar address. They might have specific procedures or forms for NRIs.
      3. Use the Aadhaar online portal: You can try updating your address online through the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) website. You'll need to log in with your Aadhaar number and follow the prompts. However, this option might require you to provide an Indian address, which could be challenging.
      4. Contact UIDAI helpdesk: Reach out to the UIDAI helpdesk directly and explain your situation. They might offer alternative solutions or provide guidance on the next steps.
      Before attempting any of these options, ensure you have the necessary documents, such as:
      - A copy of your Aadhaar card
      - Proof of your new address (outside India)
      - A valid passport or other government-issued ID
      - Any additional documents required by the specific method you choose
      Keep in mind that Aadhaar rules and procedures can change, so it's essential to verify the information and requirements before proceeding.
