  • Amelia And JP VLOG 249: In our last video from Manta, Ecuador, we showed you condos for sale on or near the beach. In this video, we'll show you a few condos for RENT on or near the beach.
The first and most affordable condo in this video is in the Poseidon, the second two are in the new Mykonos development, and the fourth is in the Santorini near Mall del Pacífico.
We share a variety of rental price ranges; however, if you're looking for truly low budget rentals, you'll need to stay tuned until our next property tour. We already have plans to film both for sale and for rent properties that aren't right by the beach, which means they'll be much lower cost.
If you would like to get more information about these properties or others that we didn't show in this video, please submit our referral form and we'll send an email introduction to our trusted Rental Agent in Manta: liveabroadnow.com/referrals/e...

Wow just wow. My dad turned me on to y’all’s channel since I’m an overseas contractor to show me Ecuador as a possible place to live during my off time and you guys are selling me on it as a great place to choose as a home! Looking forward to more videos and like this one about rentals. Unfortunately I’ll have to do the air BnB thing since each time I’m off is only 2-4 months each time but still a great place to stay for that length!

An observation for whatever it’s worth - two things I’d suggest you add when evaluating a high rise building in Ecuador: discuss security at the building, and discuss fire prevention and fire response for a high rise in a third world country. I certainly would pause and ask a lot of questions about the construction standards and how safe, or not, the building is in a worst case situation. Cheers

    • @JoseReyes-ov2tu

I had be more concerned with Earthquakes than fire or security. Manta seems like a pretty safe city and they have discussed personal security and theft in other videos about Manta.
I would have no concern about fire in a high rise building made out of concrete. They are not made out of wood and have nothing in them that would be highly flammable. Unless a bomb goes off inside the building, or someone lights it on fire on purpose, there is almost 0 chance of a major fire in the building.

One thing I'm learning with Amelia And JP channel and many others on RUclips is there are many places outside the US where you can live comfortably without trying to penny pinch it. Lot of the buildings in the US are not all that great in terms of quality anyway. I live in San Francisco they have a new condo in Bernal Height neighborhood no bedroom just a studio, no furniture included, no AC, no parking lot, no balcony and no washer and dryer either and they want $ 750,000 for it. The one bedroom condo was 1.1 million but because priced dropped just under 980,000. Hosing market getting hot in and I'm seeing condos in San Francisco going back up in prices. These condos in this video and their other video for buying is very affordable in comparison.

Beautiful condos! It's always nice to see luxury stuff. I guess the only thing that makes me hesitate is that the selling points for those three seem to be locations next to "luxury" shopping, or restaurants. I know that so much of the appeal of Ecuador, for me, is the mom and pop business, the access to farmers-market type stores, the distance from the pressure, stress, consumerism, and insanely paced American life style. The condos, at least to me, appear to represent so much of what we are looking to escape from .
Regardless of that rant, thank you for the video and best of luck to that gentlemen and his business!

@@EcuadorShoresRealty doesn't seem sustainable. All that luxury and wealth next to so much poverty. Invaders from the north transforming their country and they become second class citizens. And all those high rise condos on the beaches ruining the beach experience for everyone but the few invaders from the north. Good luck with that.

    • @EcuadorShoresRealty
      @EcuadorShoresRealty Год назад

@@counterflow5719 thank you for your comment, but it is a big misconception that the "invaders from the North" as you put it are the majority buyers of beachfront high-rises etc. Truth is that it is still the majority wealthy Ecuadorians purchasing most of the real estate here. Even given the recent increase in the foreign market clients, the North Americans avg only around 10-30% owners of these new luxury towers. It is also the Ecuadorian developers that are building all of these new towers and luxury homes.
On a side note, the expansion of the real estate market and the increase in Ecuadorian and foreign ownership is adding more jobs, better quality of life, and influx of capital into the local economy that the local people living here are benefiting from in multiple ways. Infrastructure has been increased and improved, medical facilities, schools and much more are all benefiting the local population and welcome by the locals as well.
Hope that helps correct some of the misconceptions but feel free to ask about anything else you may be curious about. Have a great weekend!

My cardiologist suggested taking niacin nearly 40 years ago and I've been taking what is considered high doses of it (2,000mg) ever since. When I first started taking it I got a flushing feeling that many people don't like and they stop taking it because of that. Very happy you have enjoyed the videos and we are always here to help!

I need to clarify. The flights from Guayaquil are not nonstop they connect through Quito. So you would be better off flying into Quito and then to Manta.

Thanks for covering this topic, and Manta appears to be a great destination for holiday or retirement with the beautiful weather and scenic views. Being an avid cyclist, I can appreciate that the weather with less rainfall and mild temperatures would be great. Can you give some insight about the roads or highways nearby. I am assuming that you could ride off road along the beach or on trails but I am curious if the coastal or interior roads would be suitable for cycling long distances. I assuming that the locals would be recreational cyclists as well
    Thanks in advance!

Good Evening Jim, the good news is that cycling has become very popular around the area and the city has even been installing bike lanes to make it easier and safer! As you head South outside the city you have some beautiful highways along the coast to ride, and an avid cycling community to meet new friends. We also have some great bike shops with gear and repair techs too. Hope that helps!

That $700 unit still looked extremely nice and plenty big for me. I am thinking about taking an extended vacation (6+ months) and renting something in that price range seems good to me. My current rent in the middle of the desert is $1000 a month, so $300 less a month for a such a cool area is appealing.

Thanks . How many cities have you visited? All of the large to medium ones? We would be interested in a small cottage with some land for a garden. Just basic and not fancy to rent of buy. Maybe a few miles from a city that has good cultural options for the weekend. Music festivals, nice large public swimming pool.etc. Please create a post of these locations if you have not. Many people do not want a high-rise.:)

Love your nice short videos - I tried to watch one that was live and almost an hour and a half. No way. Being shown around by a realtor seems like a nice way to get a free tour. He sounds like an smooth American salesman though. I would prefer a local realtor. That rental in the 1st Hotel upstairs worked out to $23 per day. Those next ones were so generic/ with zero evidence you are in South America - could just as easily be modern US. Hmm,wonder why no oven. Maybe get an air fryer!

OMG great vidio !!! I'm tempted to disappear from my family.
It's amazing that I could just take my social security check and live so wonderfully.
But of course I have to come back to reality and know that I have two kids in college and they need Dad to be available. Shoot !! It's all about timing.
Anyway, my youngest daughter and I are taking an exploratory trip during the last two weeks of May.
Our first week is going to be in Olon but we definitely plan on taking at least a day trip or an overnight trip to Manta.
The second week we're going to be in Cuenca.

A thoughtful video that provides some ideas on living in Manta - however - it's a bit of a contradiction to the video in which you present a Social Security based budget for living in Ecuador. It would be nice to see you cover rentals that are more local-based, perhaps not in high-rises, that speak to real life living as an expat (which I've done for nearly 9 years). In my experience, when you take the time to get to know the area you want to live in you can find better pricing and sometimes: downright bargains. Keep posting - your videos are quite informative. Thank you.

Love JP and Amelia, but this dude seems to cater to rich gringos who have large dollars (for me that is $250K plus) to buy a property that is less in Ecuador than the USA or enough retirement income that can cover $2k/month in rent. Anything for regular people?

    • @jimjensen9139

Plusvalía.com has several hundred listings the majority seem to be under $1,000 per month. Some that looked acceptable to me in the $350-500 range.

Agree. I don't think I would invest that much money in a country where a local cannot get close to paying half of the selling price of these condos. You are limiting your market to "gringos" only and that is simply not a good business decision. I would prefer to invest $250k in a property in a safer market like the US, rent if for around $1,500 to $2k and just live or rent in Ecuador. I wouldn't buy in Ecuador for more than $35k - $50k.

I agree - this is not what I’m looking for. I would just stay in the US if I wanted to have the same lifestyle.
I think it’s a bad idea to export lavish American high rises to another country and expect the locals to be ok with us showing up to use their land to have some high roller lifestyle we couldn’t have afforded back home. It just doesn’t sit well with me.
If I move to Ecuador, I intend to embrace their way of life, not force my culture onto them.
