I just only picked up a PS5 today. My local Canadian Best Buy just happened to have an edition that came with God Of War Ragnarok. I even had an Employee say that I'm lucky as she was still waiting to get hers. It was $719 CAD for a disc version with the 828GB storage.

Yesterday, I walked into Best Buy to grab my PS4 copy of GoW: Ragnarok and was lucky enough to walk out with the PS5 bundle. It was extremely random, and I'm so glad I saw that guy walking out with one in the parking lot lmao
@Deric James it was GoW Ragnarok digital bundle with PS5 Disc version. Because I saw the dude with one in the lot, I looked on the website, and they were available for purchase at my location. This was like 11am at the local best buy. I think they were only available due to it being launch day for Ragnarok
I've had mine almost a year now. At first I didn't like the new menu system, because I couldn't do my own background, but it's grown on me. The games run phenomenal and look amazing, which is what I most enjoy about the console.
I'm getting mine this week. It's crazy that it's already 2 years old, feels like 1 year at most. Oh well. I'm sure we have a good few years ahead of us still.
I was a big Sony fan, ps4 player got it first day It came out. But honestly it's too hyped up, Xbox Series X is actually a lot better in my opinion, I have both consoles and never touch my PS5.
As a longtime PS fan I finally got mine in August directly thru Sony. Horizon bundle. Since then I've had three people I know get their hands on them ALL IN LOCAL STORES. So stock is definitely increasing which is a great thing. Love mine so far and I was so impressed with how much quicker it is over my Pro. Game on!
just got mine in april, it's been a great experience so far. hadn't had a playstation in a 5 years so it's been nice catching up on all the games i didn't play on ps4. ps plus extra has been a great value
My mom bought a PS5 from scalper in the year 2021...price was 2x but it was worth it, she said because it's for me and my little brothers birthday and we love playing on it. My problem is that there isn't enough PS4 to PS5 games like Bloodborne and RDR2, those games really need 60fps mode.
I got the ps5 at launch...and it's been great... though God of war Ragnarok is definitely gonna probably be the biggest highlight...can't wait to play it 👌🏻💯
I got mine a little over a year after PS5 came out. My job sells them online, and I've had like 3 people come pick them up. Whenever someone comes to pick one up through our Drive-up service, we have to keep them behind the service desk so that no one stole it.
I luckily got mine last January at Amazon. Right now I could see instore preorders for bundle packs here in Australia. I'm glad they fixed the shortage, though they raised the price in exchange 😅
i got mine last christmas and at first it was alright but now with all these games finally coming out i’m so glad i have my console already. love my ps5
2 years in, and my stepdad was only just able to get his PS5 a couple weeks ago. I can't believe how hard its been for Sony to maintain a steady supply.
Got mine roughly after a few months . Loved it. Still difficult for my friends to get it so haven’t played a lot of multi player games . Have thought of selling it too but I love the game too much even though I don’t overly play it . Hopefully I’d upgrade to Extra to play some other games . Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring and God Of War look magnificent on it
I must say I am truly blessed that one of my best friends got me one from Sony and our other friend went in with him and gifted it to me as I was struggling with bots to buy one. You guys are true heroes 🙏🏻
I really like ps+ extra - due to work and kids I don't get to game as much as I'd like these days, so I'm massively behind on game releases, so this works out great for me. Already enjoyed AC Origins, Valhalla, last guardian, miles morales, stray and a fair few others. If the premium was a bit more "premium", such as a greater library of ps1, 2 & 3 games.i think more people would be willing to pay it. But then Sony are always slow with these sort of things
For $120 a year there is atleast 30 games for anyone to enjoy no matter what they like. I look forward to getting even more choices than what they have now. But i feel ive already got my moneys worth and i signed up in August when it was time to renew my normal subscription.
I don’t know how people aren’t finding a ps5 by now. At least in America. I got mine April 2021. I had to go online like crazy for a week. Since then though, I’ve been in gamestops, Walmarts, Best Buy’s, targets constantly stocked with ps5s many times. Gotten emails with chances to purchase them a few times from Sony. I imagine I’ve at least had another 10-15 chances to purchase another ps5 if needed.
Went on Playstation this Black Friday and picked up a God of War Bundle PS5 without any problems! Glad to see that things slowly getting better with their production and sales.
I got mine November last year, i remember watching the year one video while waiting for it to arrive lol, but it only seems like yesterday! So far I love it, doesnt 100% feel like next gen yet but still great improvements on loading, speed, controller, menus, and visuals. The backwards compatibility is what makes it tho. Ive played more ps4 games on it than ps5, and without that feature i probably wouldnt have bought it
@@Pmccaff2009 the newer consoles aren't actually an improvement when it comes to non gaming features. I remember that on ps3 you could use media like videos , mp3 and a lot more. It could even be used as a blu ray dvd player. The ps4 removed most of those stuff.
I’ve only had mine for, like, 4 months, but I can say with 100% certainty that the PS5 is the best game console I’ve ever used. Just wish it had more games utilizing the controller features
@@inkedsleeve4226 damn I’ve had a blast with both current gen machines so far and next year is looking to be great for releases. That must suck that you bought one and your not enjoying it.
Same here, stilll annoying that party chat output comes thru the controller speaker tho. I dont want to use it at all yet they're forcing me. 2 yrs yet no fix?
System was absolutely worth it just to not have a jet in my room which can play my 200 game backlog at 60fps 4k(if available). It’s reinvigorated my love of games and I’m having a blast getting thru the ps4 library. Frame rate has helped me venture into action games too so it’s been a blast!
@@georgewashington6847 it's not about the graphics. The new God of war in 2018 was absolutely amazing and God of war ragnarok is litterally more of that amazing game. They basically said :if it ain't broke don't fix it. The first 2 hours of the game have been absolutely amazing so far and I'm right back in 2018 again when I first played it.
I was XBox forever, got my PS5 early last year, and man, I couldn’t be happier. Played through the entire series’ of Yakuza, Last of us 1/2, Uncharted, Spider-Man and MM,God of War starting at GOW3 v.2010, and now Ragnarok. This thing is amazing!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I got mine last year at my local gameshop. It was so random and so unexpected that i was literally just screaming in the store when i managed to get one hahaha. Got a bundle of about 620 with miles morales, fifa and a controller charger. I much rather don’t go with bundles but it was the best option i had. A friend of mine got the same deal last week. It seems that in the netherlands, it is finally starting to pick up a bit with availability.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Well it depends. Most bundles end up including a lot of stuff you don't need or want in them that makes the price go up sygnificantly. Ive seen digital bundles for example that added so many accessoires that the price goes far beyond the 600 dollar pricemark. IO for example never play fifa, so 60 dollars out of my bundle was essentially just plain unnecessary. It comes down to what it offers. If it includes a couple games you like, it is great. But if it includes headsets, expensive charging docks, games you don't like it kinda sucks. Unless you have the money to pay like up to 750 for a PS5.
Places like GameStop make people buy the ps5 in addition to at least 2-3 other things in order to prevent what they call poaching I suppose. People buying the system and flipping it for more money online
Somehow I got insanely lucky and snagged one at launch from The Source. Can’t believe it’s been 2 years since it came out already, and I am still quite impressed with how capable it is. Especially love the super fast SSDs.
That is the only good thing about it at the moment. The games are all glorified ps4 games. Im sure once they start making games that push the ps5 abilities. The load times will start taking longer and longer like they did between the ps3 and ps4. as its games got better and better.

So many games i didn’t get to play that I’ve been able to enjoy since I’ve gotten it. Looking forward to when more players can get a system so more quality games will be available
I had the exact opposite experience; I've owned every PlayStation console to date including the PlayStation 5, and in many ways, I've always been pro-PlayStation. But my Series X gets more of the love and attention. Whatever our stories are, all that matters is we have fun 🖤
@@luciferouskris Same. I've been a Sony man my whole life other than brief stints with wii, 360 and GameCube. Like you said, all that matters is fun
If everything goes as planned, I will FINALLY get my PS5 tomorrow. Non scalper store bought! Unfortunately the PS5 availability still seems a bit constraint in Sweden.
I finally managed to get one this week at BestBuy at retail MSRP. They're starting to get readily in stock with multiple stores having at least 5 of each digital, disc and bundles.
SSD availability is by far the “BEST” thing in the last 2yrs for PS5… My last 4 games I’ve recently purchased is gobbling up my storage on my 2TB Samsung 980 Pro… God of War Ragnarok, Modern Warfare 2, 2k23, Madden 23… Also I got the Samsung T7 2TB strictly for classic PS4 games, and that’s starting to fill quickly too…
Had one for a while out of sheer luck and the main thing I've loved is Holy crap thats fast What was once 10-20 seconds is like 1-2 its great as it helps avoid building stress in games where every failure is a long walk back from the beginning *looks at all soulslike games*

I still don't have one, although I have had just a few opportunities to buy one but money or other things kept me from pulling the trigger. It's crazy that it's been out for two years and places still can't keep them in stock. I don't remember ever having this problem with previous generations. My local stores always have Series X and S in stock.
Have had mine for almost a year and I don’t regret it, great exclusives, awesome load times. And for the first time in years I have made actual friends.
I currently own an Xbox series x. Absolutely love the new gen consoles. Hoping to grab myself a PS5 next year for the exclusives. PlayStation really has an amazing amount of exclusives that I’m itching to try.
I actually got a PS5 two weeks ago through Sony Direct. They emailed me the unique link for their event, and it was a smooth process, bar the shipping. They’re steadily becoming feasible to buy.
It’s crazy I kept hearing how hard it was to get one so yesterday I searched online and found some in stock at a target and called them and they gave me this super complicated process of drops and whatnot. I hung up more confused. So the next day I just go the store website, check one out and pick it up two hours. Feel like I’ve been lied to for months but I’m probably just lucky.
You did get a little lucky, but all the people complaining about how hard they are to get are not really trying to find one. They look at the Walmart electronics section while they are grocery shopping and don't see any ps5s then complain how hard they are to find. It took me 3-4 weeks to get mine for retail. I was unlucky and started looking right after a restock, if I started looking 2 days earlier, I would have been in the same boat as you. It really has been blown way out of proportion.
Great video, nice recap! I was finally able to nab a PS5 a few weeks ago. Brand new, with a disc drive, for $300! I live in Canada was able to utilize a $400 discount through Shoppers Drug Mart and their optimum points system. I was *incredibly* fortunate that they had one in stock on that day - I'd been checking for two years with no luck!
I bought both consoles and never use my PS5. I use my Xbox Series X because of game pass and the hardware is amazing. This is coming from a hardcore Sony fan who played since PS2 and bought the PS4 first day it came out. PS5 is a huge dissapointment.
@@intertwinedfate1429 well apart from the fact that the video literally asks for stories to be shared about how any one acquired their PS5 (@11:14), you cared enough to post your comment. Thank you for caring!
Picked up my PS5 yesterday with God of War. It’s a big upgrade from my old PS4! Look great on the 4K TV with 5.1 surround. Interface is snappy and the whole system feels much faster including software update etc. GoW is epic too!! Looks beautiful and smooth as butter at 4K. Can’t wait for a few more next gen games that have been announced.
The load times (or lack of) is insane. Playing forbidden west and fast travel is immediate over 95% of the time. I remember in Zero Dawn where the fast travel would be when I would get up to get a drink or something. I don't even have the time to take a drink of the beer next to me!!! I love it.
For me the main thing stopping me from upgrading is that all the games I'm interested in playing are still available on PS4. Yes they're slightly better looking and run smoother on PS5, but as long as they still run great on PS4, I won't spend $500 on those upgrades. Once the games I'm interested in start becoming PS5 exclusive however, or the PS4 versions start running bad, then I'll upgrade.
A man of culture. Also don't forget how bad the ps5 has been so far (no games/analog drift issues) and the fact all consoles get upgraded a few years after the release. Ps3 slim, ps4 pro...
Totally agreed. This is exactly why I am hesitating in switching to PS5. There aren't so many "PS5 exclusive" games at present. My PS4 pro runs great and supports most of the new and upcoming games. Maybe I should wait for another year. Doesn't make sense for me to spend so much at present. Only thing is, I am not able to control my excitement to switch to a PS5 😐
I bought mine today, what a coincidence.... that's how difficult it is to buy one, like still after two years. Now i just hope they don't release a pro version anytime soon, i bought it from a scalper as there's no way you are going to find one in India
@@Mythical444 Ha, doubt it. You seriously think that? The supply issue is so bad devs have kept games on PS4 longer. There won't be a Pro PS5 until at least the Switch Pro is out.
It's a fun system, not without its problems, and Sony doesn't listen to much the community says to make their services better. But it's a good system regardless.
It’s unbelievable how I still have never seen a ps5 in person I honestly can’t believe it’s been 2 years. At least the new Xbox is kinda common but wow
I have a God of War digital bundle being delivered today. That game alone was enough to make me pull the trigger. Looking forward to so many other games too.
I'm from Costa Rica and I go two PS5's already! First one was heating up after a year, I could still use it to play games, but it was starting to sound like a jet turbine, I took it to Sony so they could "clean it" but thanks to Sony's regular warranty I got a new one!! They just told me they were going to replace it for a new one! And that one is working perfectly for the past 4 months! Couldn't be happier with the service and the games!
Just got to finally pick up a PS5 a few weeks back, and I've been loving it so far. It's the first new system I've bought for myself in 5 years, and it's been a heavily needed upgrade from my old, half broken PS4 slim. I'm really excited to see what the rest of this year and the following years has in store for the PS5
Had mine for about a year and 7 months. Bought the charging dock, maybe it’s because I leave them on there but the controller battery life lasts for about 7 hours, and I already have super drift on one controller. The only downfall the controllers suck
I just got my PS53 days ago so I am extremely new to the whole experience. I do enjoy how responsive the console is and how fast things happen. I am looking to get one of the PS PLUS subscriptions because I want to play all of the exlusives. Currently playing God of War... Loving it.
This console generation pushed me over to PC, since stock was low and prices were high. I remember seeing resellers and even some online retailers selling them for $1K lol can’t imagine buying a console again, the customization and control over how your games look and play on PC is amazing Can’t forget Steam too
6 months with my PS5 and Im loving it! Ive been gaming a lot now compared to when I got PS4 because I just love the 60fps option on most of the games that I been playing. Also due to my PS plus extra subscription, I got lots of games to choose from without breaking my wallet. I dont care if I dont play the latest games, I still got lots of backlogs and playing it on performance mode is just great
I’ve had mine for just under a year and I’ve been stunned how reliable the console is. Think I can remember it crashing a game 2-3 times if that. Compared to the PS4 or original 360, that is what has impressed me the most.
I haven't had mine crash once and I've had it for around a year now. It is a truly amazing piece of hardware. My switch feels lonely given how much time I spend on the 5 with my massive ps4 and now even some 5 games in my backlog.
Got one about 5 months ago, got some custom plates from DBrand, and just most recently finished God of War Ragnarök. Best game of the year in my opinion, especially on the hardest difficulty, gave some real Elden Ring vibes because of how hard it was to get that 100% completion. Wish it had a new game plus tho, but overall everything runs smoothly and still more games to come, can't wait. 👌 👍
Got my Series X at launch from a Best Buy pre order and my PS5 early 2021 off a drop once again through Best Buy. 2023 is really looking to shine for Xbox finally. We have Starfield, Redfall, Fable, Forza Motorsport, Hellblade 2, Stalker 2, the list goes on! If anyone is still having trouble locating a current gen console the method I used for the PS5 was to create a Twitter account, follow a handful of accounts that announce drops, and when you get a notification it’s just the luck of the draw. I *guarantee* a console within a week as that’s how long it took me back in January 2021 when they were much more difficult to obtain.
I have both also and no offense fable doesn’t have a confirm release date, hell blade 2 is predicted for 2023 but not set and also red fall looks pretty lame. I honestly don’t get the hype. If it wasn’t for game pass I would of sold my Series already and for Bethesda games. Xbox has been pretty disappointing this last 2 years. Hopefully starfield is the turning point.
I just got the equivalent of a console, a gaming laptop! Portable, compact and it came with a nice built-in full HD screen @ 165 Hz. In addition, it came with a keyboard and RGB lighting. It has a razen 5900hx cpu with a RDNA 2 6800m gpu. This device is in stock and cheaper than a PS5. Been gaming ever since, you guys should try it!!
I have a PS5 and didn't have a PS4, so ive been catching up on a lot of PS4 games. As great as the PS4 games are I wish there was more PS5 games out that were genuinely new (instead of remasters of older games). Also I wish the PS5 had updated to offer game switching capabilities closer to the series X.
I live in the Netherlands, but it is still really hard to get one for a normal price. If you want to buy a new one you pay between €800 - €1000 for it.
Got mine couple months ago, before i had the very first edition ps4. At first it was really strange to play on 60fps, it was to quick for me Recently i turn back my ps4, now i understand the meaning of FPS.
Honestly, for the interface section, I’m REALLY missing the themes options that PS4 gave us. Particular the ones that had alternative music/ambient sounds from the basic PS4 menu music such as the themes for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, several Final Fantasy VII ones, Resident Evil 20th anniversary, Firewatch, Persona 3 and 5 Dancing, hell there was even a Christmas/holidays one (2018 IIRC). It really gave simply exploring the menu an immersive atmosphere. The PS5 menu feels solely lacking in comparison to PS4 menu at least for me due to this. I know the new interface might make themes difficult, but for the love of god, Sony, allowing alternate music should not be a difficult feature to add.
I was insanely lucky when I got mine Day 1. I was on a lunch break at work watching the price reveal, and I had a hunch that our local game store would put it up for pre-orders right after the price reveal. So, I patiently waited for them to reveal the price, my lunch was coming close to an end and I almost gave up. But as I was walking back, I heard they just revealed it. So I quickly headed over to my game store website and looked for it..sure enough, it was there and i hit pre-order. I ended up coming back from lunch 15 minutes late..and an angry boss but at least I got my PS5 and have loved it ever since. There has not been a day where I haven't booted it up since release.
Just got my ps5 a few days ago from a reseller at a surprisingly normal price, though I wish I would've gotten it the more natural way via walking in and buying directly at a local store as I have done with all my previous consoles.
Drives me crazy that we still can't sort our trophy list, and haven't been able to since 2014. It's like the most basic of functions you could add. Especially now that we're 3 generations in of games that have trophies, the trophy list can get pretty massive, and it's really difficult to locate games in the list that you may have played several years ago
I got my PS5 this year and I have to say I am impressed with the system. Sony has promised a lot so it’s all about waiting to see what’s to come honestly
I’ll never forget being on a road trip last summer; me and my brother stop at a Walmart in Roswell New Mexico, was shocked to see they had 5 PS5s in stock and 8 Xbox Series X!! It was such a surreal sight to see lol.
Finally got my PS5 this past Tuesday night at a midnight release for Ragnarok. It's pretty great so far. The Duel Sense controller is hands down the best controller I've ever used and it just feels like a high end sleek experience overall. I do wish there were more customization options for the home screen and the interface in general though. But it's pretty great otherwise.
@@Prime362 For me personally it is because there are some games I'd still like to have a physical copy for. I was close to going with digital though because honestly I mostly play digital, but when I want my physical copy for collectors reasons, I want it, you know? If you're someone who absolutely knows they aren't going to get any physical games then the digital is more worth it. But that's the trade off. If you're comfortable not having the option for physical games and committing to complete digital, then go with the digital. If you think you'll want a few physical games, then go with the physical.
Luckily my wife managed to get me one on launch. Love it & love the wife ofcourse. Went through 2 controllers so far due to drifting which is abit frustrating but other that , I'm still a happy man.
My friends and I all just got to PS5 at once because Sony decided to finally ramp up production. In my experience Steam handle this better than anyone by making it where an account had to have already purchased a game months in advance but Sony and Microsoft Word initially concerned about locking people in their ecosystem just getting the sales for the system. I prefer the steam deck over any of these consoles but Street Fighter 6 is coming out so I had to get the 5.

Game on!

Just got one for the holidays this year. And I’m feeling really happy after all that bs we had to go through
I got the ps5 at launch...and it's been great... though God of war Ragnarok is definitely gonna probably be the biggest highlight...can't wait to play it 👌🏻💯

How
Load times and 60fps brought me back to gaming after years away.
i got mine last christmas and at first it was alright but now with all these games finally coming out i’m so glad i have my console already. love my ps5
Same man love it. Got COVID and missed my first Christmas last year and it made it worth it.
what games?so far all we had was HFW and Ragnarok and those aren't even next gen so basically 0 next gen games
Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring and God Of War look magnificent on it
Most games on it are cross play with ps4
I must say I am truly blessed that one of my best friends got me one from Sony and our other friend went in with him and gifted it to me as I was struggling with bots to buy one. You guys are true heroes 🙏🏻
👌🏼 You have great friends.
But then Sony are always slow with these sort of things
try god of war and then god of war ragnarok , you’ll love them
I have ps premium and I am catching up on all of them as well currently I am finishing up ghost of tsushima and others
For $120 a year there is atleast 30 games for anyone to enjoy no matter what they like. I look forward to getting even more choices than what they have now. But i feel ive already got my moneys worth and i signed up in August when it was time to renew my normal subscription.
Premium should be day one games; the lower tiers should be the older games.
Wait u dont have much time to game, but u listed as playing some of the longest games out there like Valhalla and Origins 😅 damn man
I don’t know how people aren’t finding a ps5 by now.
How time flies. Thanks for reminding me I'm growing old. 🙂
Went on Playstation this Black Friday and picked up a God of War Bundle PS5 without any problems! Glad to see that things slowly getting better with their production and sales.
The fact i go "ooooohhhhh interesting" everytime I see a new headline from you guys, is a sign that you guys are doing it right
Same here ! These guys are amazing. After all those years, I still find every video interesting and refreshing. Great channel =)
Ive played more ps4 games on it than ps5, and without that feature i probably wouldnt have bought it
Menus? Bro you can’t even change your colour let alone theme - they’ve replaced customisation with commercialisation.
@@Pmccaff2009 thats customisation n personalisation not menus
@@Pmccaff2009 the newer consoles aren't actually an improvement when it comes to non gaming features. I remember that on ps3 you could use media like videos , mp3 and a lot more. It could even be used as a blu ray dvd player. The ps4 removed most of those stuff.

System was absolutely worth it just to not have a jet in my room which can play my 200 game backlog at 60fps 4k(if available). It’s reinvigorated my love of games and I’m having a blast getting thru the ps4 library. Frame rate has helped me venture into action games too so it’s been a blast!
Bought mine a couple of days ago and hoping it will come today. God of War was definitely the selling point for me
It’s fuckin amazing
It's literally just a ps4 game with upgraded fps for ps5 not like it's a built from the ground up ps5 game harvesting all the power from the console.

Why do you recommend not getting a bundle, out of curiosity?

That is the only good thing about it at the moment. The games are all glorified ps4 games. Im sure once they start making games that push the ps5 abilities. The load times will start taking longer and longer like they did between the ps3 and ps4. as its games got better and better.

Unfortunately the PS5 availability still seems a bit constraint in Sweden.

It went fine :-) I have finally a PS5.

I’m happy for you bro!
What exclusives? Basically everything is cross plat with PS4 or just a remaster. Ratchet and Clank, Returnal, and Demon Souls is about it
I currently own an Xbox series x.
👌

I'm from Costa Rica and I go two PS5's already! First one was heating up after a year, I could still use it to play games, but it was starting to sound like a jet turbine, I took it to Sony so they could "clean it" but thanks to Sony's regular warranty I got a new one!!

The Duel Sense controller is hands down the best controller I've ever used and it just feels like a high end sleek experience overall. I do wish there were more customization options for the home screen and the interface in general though. But it's pretty great otherwise.
For almost 2 years, still waiting for themes, and not the library looking like a wii 2 promo.
Did u get digital or disc?
@@Prime362 Disc, but the game was a digital code.
@@LettaLeeJoy so would u still say disc is worth it or?
You can mitigate stick drift by adjusting controller deadzones
@@undrwrldsk8fred tried that , still was pretty bad.
Steam deck is still a PC. Best portable PC for controls
I finally got mine yesterday! Don’t have any time to play it right now, but at least I have it.
2 years later... and mine is sitting in the post on its way to me now... can't wait!!! It's going to be the most modern thing in my home other then my wifi router! 🤣
I got one last Christmas and it has been great so far
Great
