Gonzaga Bulldogs 5th starter: A case for Ben Gregg, Khalif Battle, Steele Venters, & Dusty Stromer!

- Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs are almost certainly going to start the following four players in the 2024-25 college basketball season: Ryan Nembhard, Nolan Hickman, Michael Ajayi, and Graham Ike. The fifth and final starting spot could go to as many as four different Zags, and we break down each candidate.
First it's the returning senior Ben Gregg, who started 20 games down the stretch for the Zags and would shift Ajayi to the three. Then we talk Arkansas transfer Khalif Battle, a rim pressure extraordinaire who would allow the Bulldogs to run and gun, and finally we close with Dusty Stromer, who started 15 games last year as a true freshman, and Steele Venters, the Eastern Washington transfer who tore his ACL two days before making his Spokane debut for the Zags last season.

I will put 200$ down that Ben Gregg will start. You know how demoralizing it would be to future recruits thinking of going to Gonzaga to see a true 4 year senior who stayed with the zags to get replaced by a transfer who hasn’t played a minute with the team. Any takers?

Disagree, hes a hard working glue guy. Hes needed, but battle is just a better player
History says Gregg will start. My gut is saying I'm hoping for Battle. Also depends on opponents, size, lineups etc. I love Gregg off the bench as he brings energy and a spark.
No question Ben Gregg starts to start the season but I believe Battle plays some good minutes off the bench and by the end of the season Ben could be replaced by Ajayi at the 4 with battle at the 3 in the starting lineup!
@@Dragracingduleist not for this current team, no. gregg's skillset proved invaluable last season.
@user-xw8ci2sp6m no way Hickman is losing his starting spot to anyone unless he's hurt! Dont get me wrong, I like Battle a lot on this team, and hickman will lose minutes to battle only because Hickman shouldn't be playing 40mins a game.
I would think it would vary between Greg who I love or Battle depending on who they are playing
