I'm always amazed at Crystal's ability to, no matter how old or widespread the game is, ALWAYS go into a game completely blind

I always think that whenever these sequels happen, Igor gets called back by Philemon to tell about the things that happened. It's a nice thought.

I don’t know if CrystAAHL was told this by someone in chat yet, but EMMA is actually voiced in english by the voice provider of Siri; Susan Bennett! She is a voice actor, so it’s great that she got a large role in this game! Her voice is wonderful and I hope she’ll have opportunities to voice in future Atlus/Sega projects!

Pancakes again? 😂 I'm convinced that, in CRYSTAAHHL's canon, the Persona 3, 4, and 5 protagonists are related due to the fact that they all have "Pancakes" in their last name. And in this video, I learn that the last name "Pancake" is an offshoot of the Pancakes family because I can only assume one member of the Pancakes family wanted to remain singular and not plural. The Pancakes family has been around throughout different periods of time in Japan... I guess?
I'm playing Strikers on switch and while it doesn't look this clean it still is pretty good. Longer load times though

There’s actually a line in the Japanese version that implies this is after Royal. It’s made more vague in English though

Leveling up personas is no longer tedious thanks to this game. I love how just by playing the game you don't have to grind if you don't want to in order to level your personas up. Personas are a lot more streamlined and I believe the most basic and average player who was never touched a Persona game because it might seem convoluted could easily pick this up and play it and not be confused over how personas work.

My favorite part of the first prisone battle was when I immediately noticed last surprise was remixed .
The first time I went to the Velvet Room in Strikers, I actually got upset because Igor hasn't gotten any actual screen time lasting more than a few minutes in ANY of the P5 games/spinoffs.
It probably has something to do with the death of Igor's Japanese voice actor. They make the majority of Igor's appearance in P5 an imposter so they don't have to recast him, and even at the end of the game where the real Igor appears they're just reusing recordings from past games for his dialogue. Atlus really doesn't want to replace the guy.
After finishing this wonderful game, I kinda want Persona 6 to either be across Japan or just have a playable “road trip” segment 🤔
It'd be interesting. 5 was going to be a trip around the world but got scrapped, it's why some places look how they are, because they started getting designed when that was the plan.
@@kirby1781 Yep, I knew about that! I honestly think it was rightfully scrapped though, because “around the world” is a very difficult and expensive thing to pull off. An “around the world experience” requires a larger team, especially on the art and sound side, that Atlus as a whole just doesn’t have, even if the SMT and Persona teams were combined for the project. They also don’t have the freedom to take that much of a financial gamble; which any company under a larger one doesn’t have.
If they just scale back to Japan if they want to attempt traveling in a “mainline” Persona entry, it’ll be far more manageable and possible for Atlus to do it.
I’m in the absolute minority that does not enjoy the “everyday life” content that 3/4/5 have, BUT I think it is getting improved on every entry. The only “everyday life” content I enjoy from 3 and 4 (ps2 releases only for me) were the in-class parts, because they were a great way to foreshadow plot events and seamlessly learn more about the figures/folktales of the main casts’ personas. The rest for both these entries (still only talking about the original ps2 releases) were extremely restrictive, and I hated them.
I did not purchase Persona 5 because I was not interested in what Mementos brought nor the still-restrictive “everyday life” sections. I was saving up to purchase Royal, since I am VERY happy that Altus finally got the hint that their customers hate the aggravating, purposeless restrictions these games had for their “everyday life” sections, and scaled it back for the quote-on-quote “definitive release” of Royal. However, just as I had the money and the time to purchase it, Cyberpunk 2077 finally had a concrete release date, so… yeah. Btw, I don’t regret getting it on ps4. I’ve always been, at minimum, a generation behind on consoles! I’ve been so “behind” my entire life that a solid 30 fps feels buttery smooth and astounding! So, for me, Cyberpunk 2077 IS worth $60, and I’m pleasantly enjoying it blind (whereas I’m not blind on Royal).
Anyway, sorry for the unnecessary tangent! I’ll just finish up by saying the fact that Strikers takes that “everyday life” section and makes it so small and optional has me foolishly hopeful for the future!

@@Zakemaster Well RGG and Sega are both Sega studios. And the references in the OG Persona 5 came about because according to Scott Strichart, who heads up the Yakuza localization teams, Yakuza Kiwami and Persona 5 were in-house at the same time. Considering the release window of both Y:LaD and P5S, it stands to reason that both games were also in-house for their respective localizations around the same time.

Finally here after finishing Strikers myself.
Is it just me or is the dialogue audio kinda unbalanced? I started watching the VOD's on Twitch and sometime I can barely hear the characters talking even in cutscenes.
It's because the audio was done during covid so they didn't have all of the proper stuff
