Give the designer of the new Generation of Sequoia a raise, to have 22 Cubic feet of space on a 80K full sized suv. Is the biggest fail by far. Chevy Tahoe is the clear winner here.
Awesome review as always, Ben! I'm a huge Toyota fan- I was stoked when this new gen Sequoia was announced. I think the looks/power are perfect, but after seeing it in person, there are a lot of drawbacks compared to competitors. If you need your full size SUV to actually carry your large family AND all their things like I do, you really have to look elsewhere- Definitely suggest anyone thats interested in one of these to see one in person. The hybrid battery location makes for the worst 3rd row/storage of any full size SUV and it's not even close. Most 3 row crossovers now best the Sequoia- includong their own Grand Highlander. The prices on these are *very* high as well compared to direct competitors that are often better equipped. Badass truck, regardless. Just surprisingly bad design from Toyota.
We were at the Oregon International Auto Show today. I was not impressed with the seats in the Sequoia/Tundra! They were very uncomfortable compared with other brands in the same category.
like it........ sr5 is base model why does it need a power tilt slide moon roof ? do like the solid rear axel, but cargo space fold down rear 3 rd row 2 nd row takes up to much cargo space
“The toyota” reliability stuff is really annoying. Any car can last with proper maintenance and care. Wouldn’t pay a high premium price because it’s a toyota.
I'm a 1st gen Sequoia owner, and the seating and cargo situation is shocking. My rig is 20+ years older and plays a better seat/cargo origami game than the new one!
Its a great looking SUV and impressive powertrain - but the interior volume space is disappointing and the cargo area and none sliding second row makes the interior behind the driver seat a joke, The ride is not nearly as nice as its competitors and noisier. Overall its a great looking disappointment for a large SUV at its stated price tag…..and Im a 2nd gen. Toyota sequoia owner.
So is it better than a Tahoe? Where is the review? How is the 2nd and 3rd row seat height compared to Tahoe? Headroom? How is the cargo capacity compared to Tahoe? How does it drive compared to a Tahoe?
@@wallbangerzsports well even though the Wagoneer looks like a school bus for soccer moms, the fact is that it is a body-on-frame full-size suv. the difference is that the sequoia has a solid rear axle, whereas that wagoneer is fully independent suspension on all 4 corners for maximum passenger comfort
@@CACressida look at the old sequoia, current Tahoe, Yukon, expedition, or wagoneer and say that again All of them have more space, more towing, much better quality inside, better tech, more features, better driving experience smoother ride and better mpg and they’re the same price
Amazing how Toyota ruined the Sequoia. It used to have a third row that folded completely flat. No more and the cargo areas is now garbage. Freakin' awful. I don't know why anyone would buy this thing now.
We have a 2011 Sequoia and not one problem! Unlike my neighbors Chevy which has spent as much time in the repair shop as it has at home.
Consider how your neighbour has been treating his vehicle....

It’s a very nice SUV! It’s just too expensive for lower end model! Should be in the 50’s!
But it's a toyota. Theyre made by God himself. Lol...
I love the Sequioa design. Very roomy. Powerful engine. Another great review Ben!
Actually it's not that roomy at all, chief.
Too bad they kicked the rear window that rolls down
Yep, huge downgrade. The Tundra still has it, thankfully
Awesome review as always, Ben!

@BenHardyCars.._0 lol no
The cargo config is very tight. A big down for me.

After owning cars of many brands... I gladly pay a premium for a Toyota. I need something that works.
What full size suv do you think is better? The chevy tahoe or the toyota sequoia
Chevy with 3.0

Love the sequoia Toyota did a very good job
Yep it’s definitely a winner chicken dinner for me! Thanks Ben!!👏🏽👏🏽
Who can afford this stuff?
If it’s less than msrp on top of markup, I don’t look right in it.
I like that they offer a base model. However, I feel like it’s a lot for a base looking exterior.
The "affordable Sequoia". lol...70k
I looked at the sequoias and decided on a Durango Hellcat! The sequoias do not have full time 4wd That’s unbelievable for the cost
I rather buy Tahoe or Yukon.
The 3rd generation Toyota Sequoia's 3rd row and cargo area are compromised. Plus, no automatic rear window.

2024 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid SR5 4X4!
Do the back seats come out
Yeah with a socket set, screw drivers and a hammer or two.
@@CACressida lol
$70k is too much. It's around $12k too much
I would rather take the 2024 Lexus GX 550 with the flat floor.
I wish they would make a Ram 1500 SUV. It would be so easy
that's called the wagoneer
@@huanronghu4432 No the Wagoneer is fruity looking, and for soccer moms. The Ram 1500 SUV would be burly and brawny, like the Sequoia.

Navigation?
the 18"s are the best feature
Nope. The sequoia is a complete catastrophe of an suv. 15 years and it still falls way below the competition yet it’s also overpriced
Nothing matches in reliability

Over priced.
The tahoe is dated, even with the update. Both are bloated but the Toyota reliability helps seal the deal
