she was so innocent and obviously loved being the center of attention. we were all robbed of Seles' brilliance by that maniac.

I really believe that Monica Seles would have won at least 20 Grand Slam tournaments if it were not for the stabbing. She had already won 8 Grand Slams at just nineteen years and one month. She wasn't even close to being at her best at that point.

There is no doubt Monica Seles is the best female tennis player ever with a very humble and determined personality. I truly believe that the stabbing changed the course of women's tennis and is the most disastrous and unfortunate event ever in a sport person's life. She could have definitely doubled her grand slam tally by a minimum if that shameful incident didn't happen. But every thing happens for a purpose...May be she will be remembered and liked more because of that in all generations...

Wow.. Such a cute video! Thanks for posting it.. I was a fan from the very start of her career, she got me into tennis, and I bet so many others too. Monica's playing style just goes to show... You can do things your own way, work hard and believe and you can achieve anything.
What a truly inspiring player she was.
    Monica 4ever

When she said this guy came up behind me and touched me on my back, she had no idea how prophetic that would turn out to be. Spooky! Poor Monica.

No doubt Seles would've won more Grand Slams than Graf. Probably at least 20-22 Grand Slams, unfortunately she got stabbed by that crazy bastard!

It's good to see Monica being interviewed by Johnny Carson. People talk about how many Grand Slams she could have won if she had not been stabbed. With just a quick calculation, Steffi Graf won 11 more Grand Slams after Monica recuperated so perhaps if she could have won 11 more slams as well to add to her nine would total 20 in her career. 😀😀

What a light hearted lovable person she is here..hard to realize her life was ruined just two years after this. Life is so fickle.

I think Monica might have had bad fashion sense because she was so focused on her tennis! A true champion!

What a lovely person she is, but a great player too. I have no doubt she would have won 20 plus slams (therefore reducing graff's to about 15) if not for that bastard. That was attempted murder and the minimum sentence should have been 15 years. Also pretty disappointing that the other women on the tour didn't freeze her no.1 ranking, they should have been ashamed of themselves.

Never seen her all dolled up before. I'm a big fan of hers, but it's hard to understand what's she saying when she's giggling all the time.

She's so funny. When she was 17 she behaved like 10, and now that she's 44, she's like a 17.

No accent on her, crazy! I wonder if it was conscious (she wanted to fit in) or natural (she was still relatively young when she moved to the US).

Monica had horrible dress radar bk then. But she was sweet and easy in this interview. She was just a kid. Little did she and us knew then what life would throw at her. Life's so unfair to her.
