So glad to hear that they found no black mold. You and the hubby are definitely taking the right approach health first the pretty can wait your families health can not. After all what good would a pretty home be if you're too sick or run down to enjoy it.

Glad you got everything solved! Just a heads up to anyone wanting this done to be wary. We had someone come clean our ducts and they found ‘mold’. Showed us pictures and everything. Gave us several options that were all a fortune. Had a second company come to get a second estimate. He said there was no mold! The pictures were just photos of corrosion in the ducts. He told us it’s common for the companies that offer “$99 duct cleaning” and the like to come and say you have big problems to make more money off you. I’m not saying that’s what happened to you because you guys are all feeling better, but anyone else wanting this done just be careful!
Christina D. Oh yes there are companies out there like that. Fortunately we went with one that is well known and lives up to their name. It’s actually the reason I chose them to come out. We did actually see the mold growing, especially on the air filters so we knew there was a problem. On another note, corrosion in air ducts are not a good sign either - have you looked into what’s causing it?

My father’s rental house had mold and a dirty HVAC system. He also had a horrible landlord My father had to fight with to pay for the cleaning of the ducts and the system. He did not get any hives but he had horrible headaches and very bad sinus issues along with Debilitating fatigue.
So happy that your allergy test came back very minimal and fixable. No more rolling around in the grass. LOL! The health of your daughter is amazing. I am pretty positive she is so much happier not wiping her nose all the time.

Glad your family is feeling better in your health. You can live with ripped up floors etc, but life is tough if you get sick, and it is complicated and scary. Work at the pace God sets for you.

Health was definitely top priority and I'm glad you got all that straighten out. I have bad allergies and I know carpet doesn't help m ine. I don't have central AC, but have to use window units instead and they have to be replaced when the mold starts growing in them because there is no good way to clean them. It's amazing how this stuff effects our health. So happy that you are all doing so much better now! Hugs, Brenda

Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry that you guys have had all these issues, but at the same time glad you discovered them and that you are breathing easier. Your house will be beautiful even if it takes you longer to renovate it. Health is much more important. God works in mysterious ways. Blessings.

Lucky for me my hubby is a Hvac tech, so he's able to stay on top of that stuff.

I’ve had those allergy tests and I remember my back being so incredibly itchy Yami. Glad yours showed nothing horrific. I'm no h-vac expert but...you need to check them in the middle of summer because 1. If your system is low on Freon the A coil will freeze up also causing mold,so if a floor of your house goes warm turn off a.c. and turn fan off auto to other setting to blow over A coil and dry it out..leave fan on until service man arrives but you also need to check the lines from outside unit to inside unit, they will freeze up also and are always covered in a finished basement meaning when they thaw water will pool on the drywall causing mold. 2. Make sure your drain lines are clear, they can plug up with cold water slime, back up and let mold grow. 3. Every spring before unit is turned on pop cover off A coil and spray with a cleaner made for A coils..I got mine at O'Reillys. 3. Change filters monthly. 4. if there is a continuous a.c. problem on a certain floor your a.c. unit is either too big or too small for square footage of that floor.
Sorry this is so long but I have had a few bad repair men but I did learn a few things along the way.
So glad all worked out. It might have coast a pretty penny but y’all had the money to do it even if it was for something else. Praying for complete healing and nothing else goes wrong.

Oh wow! SO glad you all were able to have all of that done as soon as possible. We really never know what we are getting when we purchase a home. We also budget and plan for things and it’s disappointing when something like this happens, but like I tell my husband, I’m just glad we were able to fix it and the other project will come later. Glad your allergy tests were done w good (?) results other than allergic reactions to grasses. Wow what an Hvac learning process n expense but a must do for good health.
Estrella Perez yes, it wasn’t great finding out all that stuff with the HVAC and then paying all of that money, but we are feeling and breathing much better so I’m glad we did it. 😊💕

Many blessing in this video... So thankful for the Allergy test coming back with “good news”... so thankful you do not have to have weekly shots, etc. My husband has always had allergies, but growing up on a farm and his parents being poor...testing and proper care was not given. I finally made him get tested when he was in his late 50’s... about the only thing he is not allergic to are cats and dogs! There were 1000’s of things he was allergic too. They wanted him to go weekly for I think maybe 2 years for shots! It was a 2 1/2 hour drive one way! He is a salesman and said no. He had lived with it his whole live... so they did put him on GOOD ALLERGY MEDS... not over the counter like he always did. So he is feeling better....”somewhat “... but he sounds better!
I was thinking that your home must smell better...then you mentioned it. Boy those A/C units can be a silent problem .... Don’t feel bad about your daughter... you did not know and NOW it is taken care of. Praise the Lord!!! And a big Amen!
That is a very interesting unit with the U Rays killing the mold. Wonderful !!!! No chemicals and smelly stuff! Another AMEN!

We had the same thing done to our downstairs HVAC unit, the cleaning, a new coil and UV light. Very costly. But it does give piece of mind.

Glad you feel better. Everyone should have their house checked for mold. I got pneumonia from black mold one time and let me tell you it hurts your chest really bad for weeks. Glad you took safety precautions against the mold issues.

So glad your all doing better and that problem is solved. But you right your health is most important. And YES animals can cause havoc to a home. People need to think twice before getting them if they can't take care of them. LOL just my rant!

Yami - so happy you and the family are breathing better and on track for a healthy home. The first thing I noticed in the video was your sign in the background... "The Look for Less Challenge" please please tell me you are going to continue on with that! That is how I found you in the first place, and I so love your creative and inspiring ideas! Also, video idea - our house flooded, twice, in 2 months at the end of 2018 and we had to spend over 60k, out of pocket!, it was foundation issues in a huge finished basement. Insurance covered nothing, well, because it's a basement (who knew!), but I digress. It was a long and costly reno, and we are finally at a place where we can do stuff. In my online travels for design (I couldn't design my way out of a paper bag) I found some interior design websites where you upload picts of your room and they assist you with ideas. I so love your style, and I thought a video from you comparing what your design board would look like vs how well a site like that would match your style. I hope that makes sense. Anyways... just an idea. :)! Happy New Year, and so looking forward to all your inspiring ideas to come this year!

So happy for this update! I’m glad you’ve gotten to the bottom of things and remedied all the issues. It’s scary to think of all the bad things lurking in our homes in places we can’t see. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Did your doctor offer suggestions on what you can do about your grass allergy?
Carol Hodges we actually didn’t talk about that at that session cause my concern was trying to figure out what was going on. However we do visit an Ear, Nose and Throat doc for that. 😊💕
It’s possible all you’ll need in the spring is a Claritin, or something along those lines. I asked because for a number of years I got monthly allergy shots. I was allergic to a number of things and over the counter meds didn’t help me. The shots worked great! I don’t know if they still do those or if some other treatment has come along. I hope your allergy is mild and can be kept under control easily.

Uggh those allergy tests are annoying 😄 but helpful. I had to have so many done when I was having really bad issues with latex. That's when they found out I was allergic to chocolate too😭😫. I'm glad you guys (hopefully) found out what was causing your reaction. Xoxo

I am allergic to all the grass, all the trees, dust mites, oh and yes the cockroaches also.I feel so sry for you the grass effects me the most.

Angela S we used Zerorez and the UV system they installed is actually their product. I included a link in the description box that shares a video on exactly how it works. It’s expensive but very a cool system and works amazing.

Hi sorry you are allergic to grasses, this kind of reaction is usually type 1 or 2 allergic reaction. Or did you have a delayed reaction after 48/72 hours, a type 4 allergic reaction? Like contact dermatitis? You could also have an allergy to glue residues that came into the air when removing the carpet. It could even be an old type of glue that is not used anymore, so they can not test it. Sometimes its a combination of irritating things like mold, polymers/acrylates from a carpet glue of the carpet/grasses/plants in the air. Mold can definitaly trigger more imuuncells and let them overreact. In combintion with being exposed to grasses outside in the air this could very well lead to a strong allergic reaction. Hope it doesent happen anymore!

You might want to check into getting a "Medical" DNA test for your allergies. With DNA technology the testing done is far superior and much more specific. I work in Wound Care and we do DNA for pathogens in a sample from an actual wound. Just and idea...

@@TheLatinaNextDoorI know you didn't have wounds but they might be able to do DNA on your blood or tissue to show what allergies you have. :) DNA would probably be more accurate than skin allergy testing.
