Wow, what a great find! Most 325's of any variation in the US are for all intents and purposes worn out. If you find a nice one the price is generally higher than you would expect. As one not smitten with the "new thing syndrome", I would recommend this gun to anyone as an extremely capable sporting gun. The fact the barrels are chopperlump also marks the end of an era. Finally, what the heck would a Yank know about mince pies? I can only guess 10 puff to 6 shortcrust. Thanks for another great video! Oh yea... It would have been fun to see Mr. Grinch shoot a stand or two. 🤣🤣 Merry Christmas!
Thank you for your comments. Interesting what you say about 325's as it is a similar case here in the UK with most being well loved and well used. I am shocked that you don't have mince pies in the US. Merry (belated) Christmas and all the best for 2025. Matthew
Thanks for another very informative and entertaining review Matthew, my wife and I are new shooters and find your level of detail invaluable for research, we've watched the Ultra XS Pro video at least 5 times and you've inspired me to put a deposit on one whilst waiting for my certificate! We think the Ratio is 7:10 Puff Pastry to Shortcrust Pastry in the case, or put another way 70% Puff Pastry (which would rapidly diminish to 0:0 in our house!)🤞 Best regards, Paul
Thank you for your comment and kind words. I am pleased that you have found the videos useful. Should you require any assistance with fitting/set up then feel free to drop me a line. The mince pie mystery will be revealed in a couple of weeks. Kind regards and happy new year, Matthew
Matthew- super review sir, and Merry Christmas. That 325 would also make a great game gun too. I feel the attention to detail was better in the 1990's, than now, especially for the money the 325 cost back then. I agree, the older Brownings were terrific guns. Great features and chrome lined bores. It surprises me that more manufacturers don't chrome lined bores- maybe its a cost cutting measure now, but great feature nonetheless. I had a chance to buy a 325 back in 1997, and passed. Wished I had bought it. Again- Merry Christmas my friend, all the best. Rob in USA
Thank you for your comment and kind words. I hope that buy finding and reviewing these older guns it will educate some of the new shooters about their quality. Merry (belated) Christmas and all the best for 2025. Matthew
Merry Christmas Matt. The review, like all of them before, is very interesting, especially for those like me who are just coming late to the world of sporting guns. Definitely helpful to look at what is available to a new shooter. I think the ratio of the baker's dozen mince pies is 7:6 puff to short crust. I will have to get a decent gun to fit into the slip, if it comes this way! Looking forward to a busy 2025. Best wishes to you all.
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you have found the videos interesting. Lots of decent guns here to enjoy on the channel so if you have any queries about any shotguns then feel free to drop me a line. Happy new year and kind regards, Matthew
Hi Matthew, superb video as always. My shoot captain has a Browning 325 grade 3 which he uses occasionally when he is not using his EELL.You are right about the quality of the older models better than the new ones.On the mince pies 7 are puff pastry and 6 are the other so the ratio is 7:6.Have a good Christmas and new year many thanks for your channel.
Thank you for your comment and kind words. The mince pie mystery will be revealed in a few weeks time. Hope you had a good Christmas and all the best for 2025. Matthew
Hi Matt, you did well to keep that beard on all the way through the video! There's 7 puffs and 6 shorts in the case and they look delicious. Looking forward to more of your classic presentations in the new year. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours. 🥂
Thank you for your comment. I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. Winner will be announced in a few weeks. Happy (belated) Christmas and all the best for 2025. Kind regards, Matthew
Hi Matthew. I've not seen these puff pastry mince pies you speak of down in Australia however my wife (she's from England ) says they are a real thing. 7 puff 6 short crust. Love watching our reviews Merry Christmas.
Thank you for your comments and kind words. Maybe I should start exporting mince pies as well as guns 😂. happy (belated) Christmas and all the best for 2025, Matthew
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. If you need any help with your 325 identification then feel free to drop me a line. Happy (belated) Christmas and all the best for 2025. Matthew

Hello Matt, Well being a lover of Shotguns and a resident here in the states… I’m not really familiar with those pastries! But it looks like to me a 50-50 ratio, six of each, 12 total, am I close? Your Christmas special refreshed my memory of last year’s when you reviewed the very MK 38 that you sold to me! Mik P.
Thank you for your comment. I am amazed that you don't get mince pies in the US. No mince pies and no Mirokus (well very few!) What an existence 😂. Best regards for 2025, Matthew
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. It should be possible to ship a slip over to you. Drop me an email to discuss. Merry (belated) Christmas and all the best for 2025. Matthew
Yet again another fantastic unbiased review Matt contents all great and with your experience I know it’s a trustworthy review, hope you and all at East-field guns have a wonderful Xmas and all the very best for 2025 with more brilliant reviews coming 🎉
Hi Matt, I have a Browning NP which makes it a 1998. How will I go about finding out what model it is? There doesn’t seem to be any markings on it denoting whether it is a 325 et cetera. The one that you are reviewing has 325 on the barrels. Mine has nothing. Any info would be greatly appreciated, Mark.
Thank you for your comment. If you can forward me some images of the action/gun then I will be able to identify the gun for you no problem. matt@eastfield.group. Kind regards, Matthew
first off Matthew well done on doing the whole review in that beard 😂😂 with regards the ratio 7/ 10 puff pastry mince pies, I know you will get sick of me saying this but just how do you find these guns, I find it staggering that gun is in that condition surly some one didn't buy it a just put it in the cupboard, but then they didn't send of the guarantee off either, another of life's mysteries. Whishing you a wonderful Christmas I hope you are not going to eat all those mince pies or I will need a wider screen to watch your videos next year😂😂
Thank you for your comment. I have to say, that beard was much worse than the 80's video moustache 😂. Finding guns in this condition is extremely difficult but they are still out there. I can assure you that all the mince pies have been consumed by now. Hope Santa brought you a bigger telly and you had a great Christmas😂 ! Happy new year. Kind regards, Matthew
Thank you for your comment. The 800 is indeed a great gun but very old fashioned now in terms of suitability for modern shooting. Parts are very expensive to have made also (springs). Kind regards, Matthew

How does the 425 compare to the 325 and 525
Thank you for your comment, the principal difference is in the barrel construction. Kind regards, Matthew
7 to 6 is my guess
