    嫌かと思いますが…多分鉄に愛されているかも簡単に加工した鉄か溶接すると本体に馴染む、歪みを上手く使って加工している、凄いです。

    You guys are quickly becoming my favorite youtube channel. I love the skills you show, and especially as it's lots of Miata stuff. I think I am about to buy a partially disassembled 99 NB from the estate of my best friend, who was tragically killed on his motorcycle a couple months ago. He also has an old Jensen Interceptor in his rear garage in need of a resto. Can't wait for the next installment of this project!.

    Some panels are overlapped when welding - like the quarter panel. Will the overlapped areas on the inside hold moisture and cause rust?

    That corner squidger stretcher is a very handy tool! Is the lip of the inner wing welded to the new wing? Or glued? Or just dangles in the breeze?

    On the lower sill do you do anything to create drain holes to minimize rusting from water sitting inside? It seems to me that this is the type of structure in cars that creates a lot of rust that you can't see and eventually rots the entire car. Wouldn't it make sense to have drain holes and use rust-proofing inside the sills to minimize the internal rusting?

    • @yorkshirecarrestoration
      @yorkshirecarrestoration  Год назад +2

      Yes drain holes are opened up after all fabrication is done, extra drain holes are drilled if needed :)

    I was under the impression you shouldn't weld in top of another bit like you did on the bottom of the inner arch, but instead butt weld. Is there any truth to that? I heard that moisture could get trapped and rot out.

      Sometimes it ms not necessary with what we put on as some are suitable for bare metal. We do usually use a upol gravitex container but that’s not always what’s in there. If I remember correctly I think we used gladiator on this one and again if memory serves me it’s suitable for bare metal. Anyway in 30 years of restoring iv never had an issue :) thank you for your comments :)

    uf that is a lot of bondo on panels

  • @rezaq1
    @rezaq1 Год назад

    Why did you not butt weld those panels?
    And you didn’t weld the edge on the lower piece, you just sealed it?
    That lower piece was too long, shorter would have suited it better and allowed the welder to get in

    Guy you are wasting to much metal sand time, I would have done it with Carbort and then copy it to the metal etc, that is my thought ok.
