嫌かと思いますが…多分鉄に愛されているかも簡単に加工した鉄か溶接すると本体に馴染む、歪みを上手く使って加工している、凄いです。
Thank you :)
Man, you make it look so easy! What an amazing amount of skill. Tidy workshop, affordable tooling, and a great end result. So bloody good!
Thank you Zack, comments like that are always welcome :)
Puzzle, Lego beauty rust repair. 👍
Watching these repairs, cutting out rotten elements and making repairs is fascinating - thank you for these videos - I like that instead of unnecessary comments there is music - it's even more enjoyable
Steve you are a Wizard, better than Harry Potter who my niece reckons is the best. You are streets ahead!
Haha thank you Eddie, it's much appreciated :)
I keep Watching your videos because you are just so good. its btilliant that you do so many on MX5 as I have a MK1 that needs rear arches doing. Thanks to you Steve I feel I can manage to do them!! Thanks very Much for your work and passing your skills on. invaluable.
Think I've become a Yorkshire Car Restorations junkie! Thanks for my fix...
Haha thank you bazer :) 👍
Love watching these Steve, can't wait to get mine 👍
Won't be long Dan :)
Love the new longer format - as for the work - Masterful as ever
Ah didn't think people would notice this early Colin haha
Brilliant as always ,the work these guys do is amazing keep it up 👍👍
Thank you as always Lee :)
You guys are quickly becoming my favorite youtube channel. I love the skills you show, and especially as it's lots of Miata stuff. I think I am about to buy a partially disassembled 99 NB from the estate of my best friend, who was tragically killed on his motorcycle a couple months ago. He also has an old Jensen Interceptor in his rear garage in need of a resto. Can't wait for the next installment of this project!.
Ah well the mx5 is definitely worth getting back to roadworthy :) and as for the jensen, wish I had one of those to do 😁
Sterling work 👍
Thank you Basil :)
Can't wait to see the next video. Gonna save it now watch it later!
thank you Tony :)
Nice, artist.
No coment.
Not sure what it is but watching these videos are so therapeutic! 😉
It's therapeutic doing them as well :)
Damn this one was wayyyy too gone.. But back alive again.. Nice job
good work!
Nice one Steve, you make it look easy, I suspect the fast forwarding makes it look quicker than it is.
Hi Steve, yes wish i could work at that speed :)
I bet that you were good at origami as a child. Some very difficult shapes created there.
Thank you Tim :)
Great soundtrack
Witch one there were 5 :) haha
nice work
Thank you :)
Do you like it, Michael does and so does Edward, they like it together,so do i
Well I like it :)
the guys good but lets be honest the metal ruler stole the show
Some panels are overlapped when welding - like the quarter panel. Will the overlapped areas on the inside hold moisture and cause rust?
That corner squidger stretcher is a very handy tool! Is the lip of the inner wing welded to the new wing? Or glued? Or just dangles in the breeze?
Yes all will be welded up :)
This is great stuff! What is the clear spray you use before spraying the weld through primer?
Rust neatralizer :)
Measure once, cut 57 times 😊
Would be very interested to see how you go about joining the inner arch lip to the outer??
the inner arch lip is bonded to the outer :)
So that meanse its glued? I really dont know how to weld that part
It's realy well made, wouldn't call it a "budget" repair.
Thank you :)
On the lower sill do you do anything to create drain holes to minimize rusting from water sitting inside? It seems to me that this is the type of structure in cars that creates a lot of rust that you can't see and eventually rots the entire car. Wouldn't it make sense to have drain holes and use rust-proofing inside the sills to minimize the internal rusting?
Yes drain holes are opened up after all fabrication is done, extra drain holes are drilled if needed :)
I was under the impression you shouldn't weld in top of another bit like you did on the bottom of the inner arch, but instead butt weld. Is there any truth to that? I heard that moisture could get trapped and rot out.
What is that silver spray you keep using before welding?
Hi Lari, it's weld through primer :)
why are you not using a primer underneath the chipguard?
Because it's not required.
What is the clear stuff your spraying?
Rust neatralizer :)
what thickness steel sheet do you use?
For none structural areas 1mm and for structural from 1.2mm to 1.4mm and even sometimes 1.6mm :)
Hello, do you only do you only weld mazdas 🤔 how would I go about contacting you please 👍
We will do any car that's worth doing :) you can send us a message on instagramme, just search for Yorkshire Car Restoration :)
Hej mistře: nemělo by být u spojení lemu+blatníků prosazení?
Nope.
@@yorkshirecarrestoration ..my u nás třeba na BMW E36 prosazení děláme..Ok ale děláš dobrou práci.
No paint under rock chip protection?
Sometimes it ms not necessary with what we put on as some are suitable for bare metal. We do usually use a upol gravitex container but that’s not always what’s in there. If I remember correctly I think we used gladiator on this one and again if memory serves me it’s suitable for bare metal. Anyway in 30 years of restoring iv never had an issue :) thank you for your comments :)
uf that is a lot of bondo on panels
Why did you not butt weld those panels?
And you didn’t weld the edge on the lower piece, you just sealed it?
That lower piece was too long, shorter would have suited it better and allowed the welder to get in
Thabk you for your comments.
Guy you are wasting to much metal sand time, I would have done it with Carbort and then copy it to the metal etc, that is my thought ok.
Thank you for your input :)
Ty za to bierzesz pieniądze czlowieku?! Przecież to gorsze niż amarorka w garażu
Thank you for your input.
Yorkshire, a no nonsense approach to car restoration. Job done proper.
