Great video and much appreciated for a Canadian Hammers fan who never got a chance to experience Upton Park. Married a teacher who is originally from the UK, so whenever we go back over there to visit her family it's during the off-season.
Brings back so many memories for me the walk up from the platform on to green st down past the market and the queens pub with the old fella shouting hats scarves and badges miss those match days at Upton Park
Hi guys n girls, I am a Hammers fan from back in the late 60's. I am trying to recall which ex WH player it was Ron Greenwood brought back off the dole queue in the early 70's to play when he was short of a forward and scored! Could it have been Brian Dear? He was a bit tubby I recall. Driving me mad remembering!
West Ham had to leave the Boleyn Ground for the same reasons that Manchester City left Maine Road and Arsenal left Highbury. Everton will soon follow suit and Spurs have had a new stadium built adjacent to their old one. Derby, Stoke, Cardiff, Sunderland, Hull City, Bolton, Southampton, Leicester, Middlesbrough, Reading, Brighton, Swansea and Huddersfield have all left their famous former homes over the past 20 or so years for pastures new. I'll bet that not many look back.....and we shouldn't. It''s time to let go of the past.
