EUNSEOKI is more about the kid that gone through bully!ng became the bully itself, reenacting the pain he felt to the other kid, causing the other kid's give up his life.
DON QUIXOTE is a Spanish novel that talks about how individuals can be right and the society is wrong. It's like breaking out of the standards made by society.
NXT 2 U is like a love song and jealousy based on the lyrics.

Eunseoki and the cycle of hurt inflicted upon others and ourselves... still one of my favorite 3RACHA tracks and one of the reasons why I loved their EPs where they tackled topics no one else would touch

Eunseoki is a story about a boy called Eunseok who was once bullied and lonely (in middle school). The boy later goes on in highschool, and becomes a bully himself, re-enacting all the trauma he himself faced. The boy acts out, knowing it was wrong, but thinking it is better to be a bully and have friends, than be a loner and get bullied again.
This is a daring song, talking about school bullying, giving a backstory to a bully who pushed a boy to the brink.

Don quixote is a spanish novella and the main character thinks he is a knight and therefore people think he is a fool, during this novella Don quixote is looking for adventures and acts just like a knight, the song therefore refers to their dream of being idols which is laughed at by adults and the people who meet them

My theory about Eunsoki is that the bully killed the kid and the heavy turmoil on his wrists is actually handcuffs not wounds

I see it that the bullying cases the kid to end his own life

There's a yt creator/artist who draws videos, and they've done several for SKZ/3RACHA that are really good and bring the lyrics/stories to life, which is nice since these songs don't have official videos and some of them could really use the help to make the stories clearer to people who don't speak Korean. Anyway, their SKZ/3RACHA content is in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLu5k9ck_8Au6y0UjbKX98-fzJ_hLTX4eb . If you watch any of these, it would let you still hear the songs, still get the lyrics, AND you'd get an illustrated explanation of the story AND avoid having to give a lyrics vid the view.
We did (or at least I did, and I assume others did too) warn you that a lot of predebut 3RACHA songs are _heavy._ Bullying, suicidal ideation/attempts (yeah, more than one form, because it comes up in at least three songs), and more are addressed. They were teenagers, which is already a sh1t period of development, and they were trainees in kpop, which no reasonable person would consider a mentally/psychologically healthy environment or industry. They were going through it, and it shows in some of their music at the time.
Eunsoki could, I suppose, be thought of as the POV character (Eunsoki is his name) harming himself emotionally/spiritually/psychologically in a way, since becoming the evil he fears, as a method of survival, is indeed going to cause some internal self-harm. But the physical self-harm -- the wrists -- is (according to the more popular interpretation) one of the kids that Eunsoki bullied. Basically, Eunsoki was brutally bullied and developed depression and moved in with his aunt. When school restarted, he decided he couldn't live through being a constant victim again, so he decided the only way to survive was to _become_ one of the bullies. So he reinvented himself and, despite feeling physically ill from it, joined up with the gang of bullies who run the school and joined in on terrorizing other kids. One kid (most likely a former friend) he targeted called him on it, and Eunsoki's psychological damage from his own past as a victim contributed to him being enraged at his victim for being "weak" (because he was thinking of his former self in that victim position and how he was so "weak" at the time for allowing himself to be harmed), which fueled the cycle of anger and fear and abuse. Then (according to one of the two popular interpretations) the kid cut his own wrists and ended up in the hospital, making him the next victim in the line of people down through whom the effects of bullying continue. The other popular interpretation is that it's actually Eunsoki who cuts his own wrists, after having become overwhelmed with thinking about his past and the harm he's now doing to others, so it's _him_ who ends up in the hospital. As is common with 3RACHA, they left things somewhat open to multiple interpretations.
Don Quixote contains several references to the novel it's named after. Dulcinea, Rocinante, Sancho Panza, these are all characters; the windmills are a reference to Quixote "tilting at windmills" (an expression you might have heard at some point during your life, even if just in a movie or something), or trying to fight windmills because he was imagining them to be terrifying giants. All those names, plus others like Diamante, are also straight out of One Piece, and we know Chris is familiar with One Piece. To be WAY oversimplified about it, Don Quixote is someone who chooses to live in his unrealistic dreams of how things are/should be rather than staying tied to the boring real world. Saying someone is quixotic (a word based on the character) is calling them an unrealistic dreamer, a fanciful romantic, or someone who's wildly impractical in their goals/ambitions. This song is them saying that no matter how unrealistic or impossible their dreams/ambitions seem, no matter how much members of the "real" world discourage them, they're going to keep seeking to achieve their dream.
Someone in your chat called Nxt 2 U "the father of Drive and Red Lights," and I'm _dying._ Technically, Han didn't reference a girl in this song -- without mentioning a gender, he referenced someone who has a boyfriend, and not all people who have boyfriends are girls. Just saying. 😉 (I don't give a sh1t about their orientation, and they have the same right to romantic lives as everyone else and I hope they pursue those if they're interested, but heteronormativity sucks.) I draw the distinction because Chan _does_ mention a girl, and along with the noona in Wow and Seungmin's line in Airplane, it's among the very few times they ever gender someone they're singing to. STAY is one of the fandoms where it seems to be most of the fans are actually rooting for and supportive of the group members getting to have romantic partners, as opposed to one of those fandoms where a disturbing number of fans genuinely think the idols are "theirs" and are somehow really going to marry them all or whatever. Those fandoms are frankly scary. (Plus, I mean, half of STAY are queer af and looking forward to having crushes on the romantic partners, regardless of gender. 😂)
Someone in your chat: "Predbut was their most het era." This person is not wrong.
Changbin doesn't need someone who's not taller than him -- ain't nothing wrong with a shorter man unless it's his attitude about it. 😂
I'm glad you're continuing to look at predebut 3RACHA stuff. Small Things, 42, Ssh, pretty much all of it worth hearing, if just because it's such a good look at their development.
