This so cool. This tech will be so useful for training (e.g get familiar with an oil rig before you ever step foot on it), real estate, architecture and engineering pedagogy, and just virtual tourism. Super neat.
I tried them last night, absolutely stunning on the graphical quality of the different rooms
Just tried it out, this is wild. You can look under the tables and chairs, reflections move with your movement. Gaussian splatting is nuts.
I'm very excited for this. I want to be able to explore hyper realistic scanned areas of more areas. I believe they said that users would be able to do scans with their headsets? I'm hoping so. It would be cool to see just a ton of cool travel areas flood the Quest 3 and be able to visit them like you're their in person. Even if they may not have the interaction options, just being able to have the high resoution scans where you can explore in a 3d space is insane. I know it's hard to find people who record decent 4k 180 videos that look good on the quest for travel but those have been fun.
Just imagine too if you could record your own spaces and capture moments in time you care about. It would be insane to be able to go back and visit them frozen in time exactly how you remember them. True game changed. If you could just scan a room with your Quest 3 and save it. I'd pay for larger storage to be able to scan spaces and save them.
Those are my favorite. Hugh Hou does some of those on YT. His gf isn't my favorite presenter, but they go to cool places. Also DeoVR has some great ones. I click on the "new" filter and there are always new places in 3d(not always 8k 180 unfortunately).
Hey Matt and community. Two super interesting things here:
1. You will be able to record by yourself with your phone.
2. If this is part of project Avalanche, certainly other processing intensive remote VR uses will be created. So much potential there! The Oasis doesn't run locally right? I guess this is a test for their cloud infrastructure.
I tried it and it’s pretty insane how real and immersive it feels compared to just a regular 180 degree 3D video. I could see this technology being used to eventually make virtual recreations of real places like landmarks, museums, theme parks and a lot of cool stuff. Hopefully some devs take advantage of this and do it because I’d definitely pay a few dollars to explore temples in china or the Sistine chapel
Don't get me wrong.. Definitely cool, and surely some great leaps in the technology (probably photogrammetry utilizing lidar to get accurate 3D data). But this feels like when Bodycam came out. Everyone thought it was such a realistic shooter, but that was largely attributed to its GoPro type camera. The graphics are adapted to look like police POV bodycam footage we've viewed in real life and thus we perceive it as more realistic. As for this, the graphics have been formatted to look like what we're used to seeing through Passthrough and thus we perceive it as looking more realistic than if everything were polished and in super high res. Thanks for the demo!
Such an amazing demo. I appreciate hyper warping to areas.. but walking around the room is even cooler
Atleast mention its only available in USA so many people would be trying to access it but its not available
It does work in germany now! GREAT!!!
VR tourism, concerts, sporting events, etc is going to be here sooner than we thought -- and better than we ever imagined.
I spy a Tamiya Porsche 959! Those are super collectible.
Not available in the UK 😢
Thanks for the Vid BMF. I always enjoy your content 😊
I've been spending 15 minutes trying to find it.
It's not even available in my country either which is sweden
Vpn
Not available in the Netherlands just like Meta Ai and all the other new features that people brag about
We need a vr museum where you can get up close and personal with the artifacts would be incredible to step inside an aztec temple or roman bathhouse with historical information available.
Imagine when games use this tech so many cool places in vr we could see in hyper realistic games
Pretty cool. I think 8k VR in RUclips is just as good
Not available in my country :(
These are still photos, right? I'm quite confused here
Yes? But it’s photos like goggle street view uploaded and scanned into the app I’m assuming basically it’s building a 3D scan of the room and then recreating it.
It’s a photo scan, it’s full 3d 6dof
edit: totally is gaussian spatting, really cool because reflections also have parallax and transparent objects like glass and plastic actually look as they should
its a 3d model room just scanned from real world environment
It’s a 3D environment with textures scanned in from photos irl
It’s using a method called gaussian splatting. It is a full 3 dimensional recreation of these rooms. No fake 360 still images here
5:30 you talk about shaddows but thats just from the camera what we need is delighting for the solid color then relighting so the light bounces with the camera or being able to move light cause then you could just have a flat color 3d model with only detail and no lighting to put in a 3d environment
Tell me more about how Project Avalanche and how this is using cloud computing. I think I must have missed that video.
Looks like Matterport workflow , but now you dive in with your Q3 ----edit...dive in is also possible in Matterport.
It is definitely a step forward, however I find that it is missing smaller details. Like the close up texture of chair in mushsy and smaller texts are not readable.
Not available in Canada 😢
Download using a VPN. I got it to work
this will be used for gaming eventually
When I try to open the app it says my internet isn’t fast enough. Why does it need stream the app instead of downloading the contents of the app?
probably because the file is larger than the headquest storage capacity.....there are plenty of photorealstic "expereinces" like this for PCVR... and those files tend to be HUGE. TBH, as cool as this Hyperspace is on the headset itself, the PCVR ""photorealistic expereinces" is (I use Virtual Desktop to stream PCVR stuff to my Quest) at least 10 times better quality and smooth experiece.... oncce you experincce that, you can see how this Hypersapce is cool but very mid in comparison.
"Mine was like that too. It started working yesterday."
Wait this is not new. I was able to use Zillow last year to tour condos if they captured them using 3D tour features. You are able to tour apartments virtually! What’s the difference?
"This app is not available in your region."...................Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
Seems to be only available in US... :(
Why region lock this??
I can't even use Meta Horizons because of this!! GFY META!! @@briansarahgillespie4299
What's the name of the app?
@@diller9870 , it's Hyperscape
You know the movie Oblivion staring Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman? I wish they could make the sky tower from that movie available in VR. That would be awesome!
I can’t make it work. I only get a black screen after loading.
Same. Anyone else having same experience?
It finally worked for me. Just keep trying
Hi! Is this really better than gaussian splatting? What do you think if it's compared to varjo ( I know it's not a fair comparison, but still want to know )?
And if possible, can you reupload this video with stabilizer? I mean if you're using davinci or something like that, make it stable so it's easier to see the detail of the video maybe?
The quality looks good, but maybe more amazing when feeling it in VR? It can't be accessed from my country. sad.
It IS gaussian splatting.
@@testpatterncreations AH @_@. I see.. hahahah. No wonder it's great then...
This reminds me of Renders ray-tracing tech.
1:51 Imagine a hidden object game but realistic
Wtf this is amazing!!!
similar to what I have seen before Destinations on steam but implemented a lot better if this was google maps I would be impressed we need a vr180 version of google maps, good for an art gallery or a very famous place, I remember a church on destinations years ago been quite good maybe they will do things like that, what happened to the Lightfield's technology that had light reflecting of areas that was incredible at the time like 8 years ago
I don't think this app was working in your earlier video. What did you do to fix that
which is better Quest 3 or Quest 3s or should I just wait for a new one?
Quest 3
hyperscape says my internet is slow...should i put quest 3 ip address to DMZ, or should i get a wifi 6e router
It doesn’t work for me either and I have a Wi-Fi six router. I’m on the East Coast, but I think that it has something to do with your location in the country.
I wish that they would fix it though
I had to try it a couple of times. I definitely don't have slow internet, but it said I did.
So lame this isn’t available on the meta quest pro
Physically walking through these rooms is far more immersive than teleporting. You should try.
Can't find it on the store.
Not available in the uk
TBH, as cool as this Hyperspace is on the headset itself, the PCVR ""photorealistic experiences" (I use Virtual Desktop to stream PCVR stuff to my Quest) is at least 10 times better quality (way more realistic/resolution) and smoother experience (fps, rendering speed/distance, etc).... once you experience that, you can see how this Hypersapce is cool but very mid in comparison.
Agreed, this is mediocre at best. The guy is overdoing it; it looks like a render when using a headset.
I can't find the app you're talking about. Where do you get it from? Steam? Also are you sure it's called "photorealistic experiences" because I searched that on steam and oculus store and couldn't find it.
@@m12158 its not on steam, nor oculus store...i said PCVR several times.... Essentially you will use UEVR ( a computer app) to load games/experiences to trun games/experiences made with Unreal Engine (the UE in UEVR) 4.0 or 5.0 . ruclips.net/video/MMmMgLclglk/видео.html
Its awesome for this photorealistic expereinces, but its even better cuz you can turn old/new flat screen games (Made with Unreal 4.0/5.0) into VR games (some are VR 3rd person and use a gamepad (Jedi Last Order)...but some are full on converted in 1st person and with motion controllers (Remenant 2, Robocop ROugue City, Hogwarts Legacy )....
defiantly realistic
Exactly what I want to do in VR: Experience a conference room.
I cant seem to find it im danish
Lol the future of vr prn
Steam did this but this looks way more detailed.
Did you try crouching?
Not available in Canada 🇨🇦😢
Not available in my area :( Canada
eventually this could allow you you to make ur friends homes into a apartment building and allow u to hangout in each others scanned d homes
Hopefully they can improve on this
Not available in the UK 😢
this is just graphic trickery :P
6.07 You had a bible passage appear. Was that part of the VR app or...?
Happens in all his videos.
@@CorreeHoey What a shame.
@@bladewednot for believers :)
@@bladewed Yeah, even on other peoples' footage such as on their latest game trailers, etc. Rather crass and disrespectful when it's obviously done without their permission. The lack of self-awareness is rather telling.
Crazy
Got it, THANKS! [:]~))
it says this isn is no longer available
Imagine Jay Leno's garage fully scanned?
Hmm but how will this work for consumers? Is our phones going to capture this and it will look this good? Or did that use some special expensive equipment to create these detailed rooms? Many questions....
Your phone? What do you mean? It's a program.
Soon you will be able to use your headset to scan your own environments. Even if it’s just for memories. I’m going to scan my daughter’s bedroom before we remodel it so in the future, my family can revisit what her room looked like as a baby. Maybe my garage/man cave before it all goes away.
Of course not phones. They properly used a very high tech 3D scanner that cost thousands of dollars.
@@Ibrahem-j9k how about a $500 Quest3. All the components are already there with the new depth sensor. Obviously won’t look as good as demo but pretty close.
@kevinwarner8743 yeah I think it might do something like that
What?! This is straight off of the quest 3?!
Marks conference room is nicer than my house. ☹️
FINALLY! no more cartoonish.....YAY
looks like Nerf's? if my knowledge of Corridor Digital videos is correct
Not available in Canada :( (yet)
Instal any free vpn on phone set to USA go to link and install. Works for me and I'm in europe
How did they scan it?
It's not in store? So you need a p.c 😢
lol real question is can I trade in my 2 for a 3. I think I need a new right controller.
when I load up the app its just black I have a meta quest 3
It looks good but people are overexaggerating how real everything looks IMO. Most items still look unreal and like a crappy photograph.
Splats?
can this be played in pc mode
why does it have to be streamed from the cloud? why cant it be a baked photoreal environment? makes no sense to me at all.
"This app is not available in your region." 👀
You need walk around room.
Ah, only available in the US...
So it s blurry 3d scan.
Btw Nintendo gonna sue Meta for the Pokémon in the garage. Lol.
OMG! I (CAPTAIN YELLOWSHIRTS) was trying to look at all the things. HOWEVER....you were the Witcher of gettin' a bruv dizzy trying to look at a single GATDAM THANG! Aight...I'm kidding...but only about only about the cursing. Please slow down & let us look, because I cannot eat a cookie for another 5 minutes. I do like the content tho! Just would like to be able to see it!
People use a vpn if you can't install. Works fine
I don't know- I tried hyperscape and it didn't seem *that* great. I've seen better quality 4k/8k 3D Stereoscopic RUclips videos.
unfortunely this is very blurry on the headset, if it had photorealistic detail it would be a great experience for users but it looks like they took these photos with the quest 3 cameras.
I sat in a chair once in contractors
6:51 Get out of my room then
I dont have this in my app!
The downside is that you can't naturally walk where you want.
Be interesting to see people frozen in time
What is the living ****--it says it's not available in my region. Voice commands and now this. >:-(
I guess I’m missing something watching on a 2D screen but I don’t get all the excitement.
It's always better in the headset.
Because it's looks like you are literally standing in these locations, even though you're obviously not. It's impossible to properly show that on not only a flat screen, but one that can't do proper stereoscopic 3D depth or show true 1:1 scale or have proper 1:1 head tracking, etc.
Pure balls doesn't even work
This doesn't work In the UK 😂😂😂😂😂 I believe meta should lower the price for UK customers as we don't get all of the features the USA does 😡😡😡😡
Totally f'n agree. No voice commands, and now no this either. What a f'n joke.
Who wants body cam vr for pc and quest
Amazing but never Disney. 🤮
I'd love some great museum halls, perhaps.
You barely move, so it's hard to translate depth into a 2D video if you barely move
Part of me doesn't believe it, how is it not just one of those 360 image spaces
It is a 3D space with 3D objects.
3d scanners are good now
Because it's proper stereoscopic 3D at 1:1 scale that you can actually move in and out of in realtime. Those 360 images are either just flat images wrapped around you, usually in pretty low resolution, and maybe stereoscopic 3D if you're lucky.
Why is Meta determined to make blink movement the norm? just let me move freely ffs
Get in the car and drive away.
That laugh is really annoying
It’s unique, and somewhat endearing to me. I wouldn’t ever ask him to change it to be fake in his videos because that’s him take it or leave it. But I can see why it would get under some people’s skin.
lmao idk about that Disney dream but hey
