I have the Wilderness HMR and the Ridge SP from Bergara. I was looking into the Wilderness Ridge in 300 WinMag, WSM, or PRC. Any problems getting ammo for the PRC? PRC would be my first choice, then the WSM, and WinMag last. However, I don't want to purchase a firearm that I can't get ammo for. Any thoughts?
does the wilderness terrain and hmr have that exact same barrel(thickness and taper) ? basically is the only difference that stock or does the hmr have a heavier barrel?
Hello, thanks for watching! The Terrain has a 5.5 barrel taper and the HMR 6.0 so the Terrain is slightly narrower…..also about a couple ounces lighter than HMR. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Definitely not a fan of Bergara. I have their B-14 HMR in 308 and it is the biggest turd of a rifle I've ever owned. 1.5-2 MOA 5-shot groups. Looking at reviews of the gun in 308, it seems this is pretty much par for the course for the HMR in 308. I have a Tikka CTR that shoots under 0.5 MOA 5-shot groups on average. Only accurate rifles are interesting and Bergaras are far from interesting in my experience.
Um people that talk uh like that uh really um annoy me. Someone should um be um kind enough to um take them aside and um explain uh what they’re doing and um how to talk for an effective and um interesting presentation. Um
I'd go with Tikka myself. I have a B-14 HMR in 308. With most ammo you are looking at 1.5-2 MOA 5-shot groups. I found 1 load that just barely shoots under 1 MOA if I squint real hard and discount "fliers". About a year after I got that Bergara I bought a Tikka CTR which shoots under 0.5 MOA 5-shot groups on average. It did that with the first load I tried in it. Anyway, I sent the gun back to Bergara. I am hoping they will make it right.
Why? The 6.5 grendel was made to run a 6.5mm bullet in the AR platform, so it’s got a small case and by running that in a short action bolt action rifle you’re only short changing yourself on velocity and ballistic performance compared to 6.5 creedmoor or PRC that you could be running in the same bolt action platform. That’s why you don’t see many, if any bolt action rifles chambered in 6.5 grendel.
@@chevyon37s simple because I like it. Have you ever wondered why some people shoot it in f class still. I have a PRC and I have grendels. No creeds. Hate the chamber. Grendel is super efficient for its size.

Good to know you guys (Bergara) are here in GA. I don't own a Bergara....yet! I will be adding the HMR Wildnerness within the next few months. Thanks for the info.
I read that as more of an observation about the professional Bergara rep than the channel. It's something that's improvable for someone who cares to try, IMHO. He might not be aware of it without watching himself and counting those needless and distracting vocal fillers. It can probably make a good drinking game for those interested.
@@ReedsFamilyOutdoorOutfitters does it gouge the rounds in the magazine, I've seen a spiral bolt do that in another brand. Brass isn't cheap and it's nice to get many reloads out of it.

The Bergara Rep needs to lose the beer gut or get a bigger T shirt, one or the other.
If the “platform” is Remington 700 with the floating extractor I would not want one free. This extractor is the worst design in firearm history.
