    Really interesting for me as my Father drove one of these as a reconnaissance tank during WW2.

    Great to see another awesome tank being restored. That honey should be wearing a sand camouflage.

    Amazing how many Stewart’s are still around. So many still running. One of my favorite US tanks from WWII.

    So glad a piece of real, (and a rare artifact) ,of history is being restored. The battle history of that particular tank would make an incredible video all by itself. What army -or armies-did she serve in? What battles? What units? What you folks are doing has value beyond money. Once these pieces of history are lost, they are lost forever. Thank you, for all the generations that will follow.

    I'm stunned the tank is so complete! Choose the colour that's correct for this tank, based on the original colour it had. Anything else would be like to piss on its history. If it was put toghether from scrap parts; yeah go on and paint in in pink city camouflage, I couldn't care less. In this amazing condition; do the correct thing...

    This was an especially good video. Short and sweet, great overall understanding of the process. And yes there do seem to be unlimited livery options since it was used so widely - my own vote is North Africa operation Torch.

      I vote for it painted in a green tone for the Australians during the New Guinea campaign where they played a vital infantry support role - Sanananda 1943!

    Absolutely marvellous and fascinating stuff! In my opinion you should paint it NW Europe schemes to reflect Stuarts as recce tanks with the allies. Would go along with the rest of your collection better.

    Nice to see old armor Restored. When it's done, you should cruise Main Drag, then run over the car of the cop that pulls you over.

    Caunter paint scheme perhaps?
    That would be pretty striking and unique.
    I am seeing these videos out of order. Is there a video covering the back story of this particular vehicle?

    It never ceases to amaze me that these tiny tanks had four man crews. They had to choose the smallest guys they could find for the Stuart.

    • @terribleauthority
      @terribleauthority 2 года назад

      Guys were generally smaller back then, not as much of a hassle.

    Glad to see that when America built things simple and to last, it is appriciated. This is why we Allies won the war. The equiptment may not have been the biggest or best but it ran well and had plenty of spare parts and easy to fix.

    "Prop shaft"?
    You Brits!
    "Drive shaft" is more like it.

    • @allangibson2408
      @allangibson2408 2 года назад

      Propeller shaft is the standard term…
      (Including on American built equipment).

    • @MURDOCK1500
      @MURDOCK1500 2 года назад

      In the UK it's a propeller [prop] shaft in between the engine and transmission or gearbox and axel. And driveshaft from the transmission or differential to the driven road wheels. From the differential to the wheel in a solid axel, it's also known as a half shaft

    Looks like someone got to the breach and B-block parts of the main gun ...when you get this sweety restored, how in the Hell are you going to be able to terrorize the locals with all those thousands of 37mm rounds you guys have hidden under the cat box at the back of the shop ...It's a trust issue I tell ya-!
